Chapter 809 Shocked Once Again
"Ms. Medici, please." The lead servant made a gesture of invitation.
Tears rolled down Lola's cheeks as a mocking smile tugged at her lips. In the past, if a servant saw her fall, they would have rushed to help her up.
But now, three servants stood neatly in front of her, holding her belongings, with no intention of helping her at all.
The speed of this change in attitude was truly astonishing.
In fact, the three servants were too afraid to help her because they saw how angry Beckett and Kimberly were and didn't want to risk losing their jobs.
But to Lola, it seemed like they were being opportunistic, distancing themselves from her now that she had fallen out of favor, unlike before when they were so attentive.
Lola slowly got up from the ground. The light rain and cold wind seeped into her body, making her feel as cold as the people around her.
Because she had been beaten up the night before and was covered in bruises, and now had taken a fall, she walked with a limp. Her clothes were dirty, and she looked disheveled and miserable.
"What's wrong with Ms. Lola Medici? Where are they taking her?"
"Don't you know? Ms. Lola Medici has been bullying Ms. Abella Medici for a long time, and Mrs. Medici found out and sent her to the next building to reflect."
"What? Ms. Lola Medici seems so nice, how could she bully Ms. Abella Medici? Is there some misunderstanding?"
"You're new, you don't know. Ms. Abella Medici is the best."
"Ms. Lola Medici was pampered by Mr. and Mrs. Medici since she was a child. Now that they are willing to send her to the next building, it means her behavior this time was really excessive and made Mr. and Mrs. Medici very angry."
"Ms. Abella Medici is Mr. and Mrs. Medici's bottom line, and Ms. Lola Medici crossed it."
Lola dragged her injured body, walking while listening to their gossip.
"Ms. Lola Medici has been sent to the next building. If she doesn't behave well, she might be kicked out of the Medici family, right?"
"What? Really?"
"Does that mean the Medici family will only have Ms. Abella Medici in the future, and no more Ms. Lola Medici?"
"Ms. Lola Medici grew up being pampered. Can she adapt if she leaves the Medici family?"
Lola didn't expect them to think so far ahead.
That evening, when Beckett and Kimberly returned, Lauren personally greeted them, "Mr. and Mrs. Medici, Ms. Abella Medici has something to do and won't be home for dinner. Tonight, it will just be the two of you."
Kimberly's eyes dimmed a bit. She had originally wanted to talk to Abella, but it seemed she would have to do it another day.
Beckett sat down, looking at the seats where Abella and Lola used to sit, feeling a bit heavy-hearted.
Lauren, on the other hand, seemed quite happy and smiled.
Kimberly noticed Lauren's good mood and leaned back in her chair, saying gently, "Since we're in a bad mood, why don't you share what's making you happy to cheer us up?"
Lauren, feeling guilty, said, "What makes me happy is the same thing that makes Mr. and Mrs. Medici sad."
This surprised Beckett and Kimberly. What did she mean?
"Although I know it's not good to say this, Mr. and Mrs. Medici, you made the right decision by sending Ms. Lola Medici to the next building to reflect! From today on, Ms. Abella Medici won't have to suffer from Ms. Lola Medici's behavior anymore!"
Kimberly listened and said, "It sounds like you know something?"
"Lauren, tell us what you know," Beckett said. "Don't hold back, just say whatever comes to mind."
Seeing that they genuinely wanted to know, Lauren thought it over and finally said, "Mr. and Mrs. Medici, please don't blame me for speaking out of turn. It all started with Maria. From the first day Ms. Abella Medici came back, Maria targeted her. She would respect her in front of you, but when you weren't around, she wouldn't take care of her and often targeted her. Anyone who didn't know better would think Maria was the hostess of the house."
Hearing this, Beckett and Kimberly were both shocked and extremely angry.
How dare a mere servant treat their long-lost Abella this way? It was unbelievable. Who gave her the nerve?
"If Ms. Abella Medici and Ms. Lola Medici happened to be eating at the same table and you weren't around, Maria would only serve Ms. Lola Medici, deliberately ignoring Ms. Abella Medici. She even said many mocking things to Ms. Abella Medici. I thought Ms. Abella Medici had finally been found and deserved to be treated well, but Maria would cause trouble for anyone who was nice to Ms. Abella Medici."
"How dare she." Kimberly was furious, not expecting Maria to be so underhanded.
"Because I was nice to Ms. Abella Medici, Maria often targeted me. Sometimes, when I was going down the stairs, she would push me, trying to make me fall. When I was cleaning, she would deliberately make a mess. She even dumped trash on my bed, used my toothbrush to clean the toilet, and spat in my body wash."
"What kind of person does that?" Beckett was hearing this for the first time and suddenly regretted leaving Lola in Maria's care. Lola's current state was partly due to her.
"I don't care how she treats me, but what angers me is her attitude towards Ms. Abella Medici. From start to finish, she showed no respect!"
"A servant more arrogant than the masters." Kimberly was furious just listening to it. How had she not noticed before?
"I think it was because of her that Ms. Lola Medici was led astray. Once, I had a cold for many days and hadn't recovered. It was Ms. Abella Medici who noticed and gave me some medicine."
"I was very grateful and bought a bouquet of flowers during my break to thank Ms. Abella Medici. But Ms. Lola Medici stopped me."
"That day, Ms. Lola Medici was in a bad mood because she wanted Mr. Winston Medici to go shopping with her, but Ms. Abella Medici called him away. Ms. Lola Medici thought I had informed Ms. Abella Medici, so she scolded me."
