Chapter 802 A Beating
Enid was puzzled.
"I just lied to you about being a student of KnightStrategist, and because of that, you doubted our friendship and wanted to get back at me by spreading rumors. How could you do this?"
Enid was at a loss for words.
"I'm really disappointed in you!"
After Lola finished speaking, she looked at Phillipe and the other guests, "I'm sorry, everything tonight is my fault. I apologize to everyone for the embarrassment. I know my presence will only ruin the atmosphere, and I'm sure no one wants to see me. I'll leave now. Have a pleasant evening."
"Wait." Enid saw her about to leave and finally realized what was going on. She never expected that Lola had lied about being a student of KnightStrategist and now was blaming her for spreading false rumors about Stringless stealing her love.
Lola had told her this herself, with tears in her eyes, looking so aggrieved. How could it suddenly become her making things up?
Could it be that Stringless never stole anyone's love and Lola was lying again?
Realizing this possibility, Enid was about to get angry when Lola shouted, "I didn't see your true nature and made friends with someone like you. From now on, we're done!"
Enid was shocked.
Lola angrily pushed through the crowd, intending to leave, but Phillipe said, "Did I say you could go?"
Lola, afraid her fake identity would be exposed, feigned innocence, "I really didn't know she would spread rumors behind my back."
Enid was furious, "Who's spreading rumors? You told me yourself that Stringless ruined your relationship."
"I've only met her a handful of times since childhood. We don't even have a normal friendship, let alone a relationship," Phillipe clarified in front of everyone. "The only person I'm interested in is Abella."
As he spoke, he took Abella's hand, a gesture that touched many.
Many guests were moved by his actions, and many were shocked.
Weren't Phillipe and Lola childhood friends? How could they have met so few times?
It seemed like they had no connection at all.
But Lola had often posted on Stories about visiting the Bourbon Manor, meeting Ryan, and playing chess with him.
It looked like she was well-liked by the Bourbons. What was going on?
Was it all just Lola's performance, and Phillipe never cared about her?
Enid finally understood that Phillipe and Lola had never been in a relationship and were practically strangers. Everything was fabricated by Lola.
"You liar."
Before Enid could finish, Phillipe said, "You three need to apologize to Abella."
After all, the rumors were spread by them.
Lola was the first to apologize, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault. I won't do it again."
Her quick apology left everyone stunned.
Willow, not knowing whether Enid or Lola was lying, was scared and said, "I'm sorry, it's my fault for speaking without knowing the truth. I won't be so reckless next time."
Enid, though angry, had to apologize to Abella, "I'm sorry, I believed the rumors."
At that moment, a servant ran over, "Mr. Bourbon, Ms. Abella Medici, Mr. Wodehouse wants to see you."
Abella lazily said, "Let's go."
Lola's account would be settled later.
Phillipe glanced at Lola before taking Abella's hand and leaving.
As soon as they left, and the guests hadn't dispersed, Enid slapped Lola hard, "You vain person, slandering me. I'm so unlucky."
"Ah, what are you doing?" Lola screamed, feeling the pain on her face. Would it leave a scar? She quickly covered her face.
"Stop." Henry tried to intervene.
Bradley immediately blocked his way, "What? She slapped my daughter and slandered her. Can't my daughter slap back?"
"There must be some misunderstanding." Henry, seeing Lola in trouble, pulled her into his arms.
Lola, having been slapped twice, had her hair messed up and a cut on her face, with some blood oozing out.
The surrounding guests didn't expect the two heiresses to start fighting.
"Lola, being friends with you is unlucky! You know what lies you told! The real disappointment is you. We're done! Dad, let's go!"
"You think you can leave after hitting me?" Lola was still angry but was pulled back by Henry.
The surrounding guests were still watching.
"What are you looking at!" Lola angrily shouted.
The guests dispersed in small groups.
Lola, still furious, touched her face, seeing blood.
"It's okay, it won't leave a scar. I'll get the doctor to prescribe some ointment, and you'll be fine in a few days." Henry, seeing her injured, didn't say much, "Let's go back?"
"I told you to leave earlier, but you didn't listen!" Lola angrily pushed him away and left the garden first.
On the way to find Clarence, Phillipe took out his phone and gave some instructions.
Not long after, Henry, driving halfway, received a call.
"Now?" Henry seemed troubled, "Can they wait? What? Okay, I'll try to get there. Does it have to be now? Alright, I got it."
After hanging up, Henry said to Lola in the passenger seat, "Lola, I'll drop you off ahead. You can walk the rest of the way. I have an urgent matter to handle. I'll bring you the ointment later?"
Lola despised his frantic state. He wasn't Phillipe, and it wasn't a big deal. Phillipe would never neglect Abella, no matter how urgent. Henry was useless in comparison.
"Just pull over and let me out," Lola said coldly.
Henry could see she was unhappy, "I'll make it up to you later?"
"No need." She didn't care for his small favors, unbuckled her seatbelt, and got out, slamming the door.
Henry, pressed for time, had to head to his destination.
Lola didn't expect Henry to start neglecting her after winning her over!
She must have been too nice to him. It was time to give him the cold shoulder!
As she thought this, a large sack suddenly covered her head. Before she could scream, she was dragged into the nearby woods and beaten.
