Chapter 714 Acting Skills Need Improvement

Someone came running in, all panicked, "Yo, everyone outside's passed out cold! No matter how much we yell, they ain't waking up!"

Ulysses couldn't believe his ears. "What? All the bodyguards? No way!"

"Yeah, man."

Ulysses was floored for a second, then snapped back. "Derek, didn't you have someone watching the cameras? How the hell did this happen?"

"Damn it, Gino! Get to the monitoring room and check if the guy in there is snoozing! If he is, take him out!" Derek was fuming.

Useless idiots!

Messing up everything!

Gino bolted to the monitoring room.

A bit later, he came back, shaking like a leaf. "Delbert wasn't asleep, but the cameras are busted."

Derek's rage hit a new level. "Busted cameras? Is Delbert blind? He didn't notice?"

Gino stammered, "It's not on Delbert. The cameras at the back door and east side are all down. They look like they're recording, but when I asked Delbert to pull up footage of Caleb, we found out they weren't recording, and the mouse wouldn't work."

Derek's mind raced, and one name popped up.

"Abella! It has to be her!" Derek seethed. "When did she get in the monitoring room? Did Delbert leave at all? Or did she knock him out without him knowing?"

Gino added, "Delbert swears he didn't leave the room for even a second. He'd bet his whole family's lives on it. No one came in or out."

"Then what the hell is going on?" Derek was losing it. Ever since Bonnie and Abella showed up, he'd been played like a fool!

Angie, looking scared, chimed in, "Weren't our guys surrounding the villa? How did David end up with Caleb? And how's Caleb even alive? The place was crawling with our people. How did David get out? And how did they knock out all our bodyguards? Too many questions."

"I'll call and find out." Ulysses, just as freaked out, dialed his guys, but no one picked up. In a fit of rage, he smashed his phone on the ground!

They thought Caleb was dead, David was out cold, Bonnie would sign the papers, and the Harris family would be theirs.

"If David didn't hear us, Bonnie will spill everything once he wakes up. We're screwed!" Derek was terrified. "David's still out, but Caleb's awake! If Bonnie tells him, he'll know we were behind the plane explosion."

Even if David couldn't get them right away, Caleb would definitely come for them!

None of them would get out alive!

"Instead of waiting to get whacked, we gotta move!" Derek's eyes gleamed with a ruthless plan. "David's in a coma, and Caleb and Bonnie are taking him to the hospital. They won't have many people with them. Even if they call for backup, the hospital won't let a crowd hang around the ward. Tonight's our best shot!"

Ulysses knew they were out of options. "But if we screw this up, we're dead meat."

"If we sit on our hands, we're dead meat anyway!" Derek's voice was buzzing with adrenaline. "Ulysses, it's do or die. Either David, Caleb, Bonnie, and Abella go down, or we do! We gotta make a move."

"No way, I ain't ready to kick the bucket." Naomi still had dreams of living it up with all that cash.

Angie was in the same boat; she had her future all mapped out.

"We gotta act now." Derek locked eyes with Ulysses, waiting for his call.

Yancy and Jerold nodded in agreement. "Derek's right, this is our shot. Ulysses, we're so close to hitting the jackpot!"

Ulysses mulled it over. "There's another way, a safer one, that keeps us in the game."

"What way?" Everyone leaned in, hoping for a miracle.

Ulysses laid it out, "The key is Bonnie. David's suddenly sick, and Bonnie and Caleb are rushing him to the hospital. They won't have time to spill the beans about tonight. If Bonnie keeps her mouth shut, Caleb and David stay in the dark."

This would buy them time to cook up a foolproof plan.

"But that witch Bonnie, no way she'll keep quiet! She'd love to rat us out!" Angie thought Ulysses' plan was a joke.

Derek had to ask, "Ulysses, you sure about this? Bonnie's tough and smart. We just tried to off her and her husband. Why would she play ball?"

"We gotta negotiate," Ulysses said after a pause. "She usually thinks you're okay. Pretend to ask for the hospital address later. See if she's alone. If she is, talk to her."

Derek doubted Bonnie would agree, but Ulysses had a point. If she stayed quiet, they could plan better and nail it next time.

"Alright, I'll give it a shot," Derek said reluctantly.

In the car, Abella spoke up calmly, "No one's tailing us. Grandpa can wake up now."

David was impressed by Abella's smarts. He opened his eyes and looked back. "How'd you know I was faking it?"

"Abella's got the Medical Authority title for a reason. She was your chief surgeon. No way she'd miss a trick like that," Bonnie grinned at Abella. "Did you figure it out during the check-up?"

"Before that," Abella chuckled. "Grandpa's acting needs work."

"Was I that bad? Did Ulysses and Derek catch on?" David suddenly felt a pang of regret.

"Relax, they were too freaked out to notice. They didn't have a clue," Bonnie laughed. "But yeah, your acting could use some polish."

Everyone in the car cracked up.

Caleb turned to Bonnie. "Just like we planned, I got on the plane first. When we flew over the snowy mountains, I parachuted out and, with my crew's help, got back to the villa and took down all of Uncle Ulysses' goons."

Bonnie smiled. "I stuck to the plan too. When I saw the video of the plane blowing up, I acted all shocked and pissed, then used their distraction to record everything."
