Chapter 813 Companionship

"I've already had Lola move to the next building to reflect on her actions. After Easter, we'll have her leave the Medici family." Kimberly's words surprised Abella. Her mother was actually willing to kick Lola out?

"Eighteen years ago, we didn't know we had mistakenly taken the wrong baby and raised her as our biological daughter. To say we have no feelings for her would be a lie, but hearing about her actions truly breaks our hearts." Kimberly gently patted Abella's back. "In about ten days, when everyone is here, your identity will be revealed, and everyone will know that you are our real daughter! As for Lola, she doesn't know how to be grateful or cherish her current life, so there's no need to keep her around."

"Yes, let her go," Beckett also agreed that Lola couldn't stay any longer.

"Are you and Dad really willing to do this?" Abella asked.

Kimberly smiled and said, "After eighteen years, to say we're completely willing would be a lie, but Lola's arrogance in front of you is something we can't tolerate. You are our real daughter, and Lola doesn't respect you. We've raised Lola for eighteen years, but she turned out to be a malicious person."

If Lola could understand her place, there would still be a spot for her in this family, but she was blinded by jealousy.

"We originally wanted to take you on a trip. We don't know if you'll have time during Easter." Beckett really wanted to spend some time with Abella, but ever since she returned to this family, she was either at school, managing her career, or dating Phillipe.

The time they had with her was very limited.

Besides sending messages to Abella, caring about her life, hoping she would come home, cooking for her, giving her massages, giving her pocket money, and customizing clothes, shoes, and bags for her, they didn't know what else they could do for Abella.

"Abella, if there's anything we're not doing well, you must tell us," Beckett looked at his daughter expectantly. "We want to improve and make you feel the warmth of this family."

"You've already done very well. In about ten days, I should have time to go out with you. As for Lola, you can decide. I have some work to handle, so I'll go upstairs first." Abella patted Kimberly's back and released the hug. "You should go to bed early."

She had to finish all the documents at hand so she could have time to attend Blake's concert tomorrow.

"Abella, can you handle all this work by yourself? What kind of documents are they? I can help. I've managed the group for many years and have some experience," Beckett raised his voice, volunteering as he watched Abella go upstairs. "I can do reports, read reports, no problem."

"I can help too. What work do you have left? I'll help you finish it." Kimberly chimed in.

"No need, you should rest early," Abella said as she went upstairs and turned on the desk lamp. Her phone suddenly vibrated.

Phillipe: [Are you asleep?]

Abella: [Almost, my parents moved Lola to the next building.]

Phillipe: [Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici finally saw through her little tricks. Congratulations, you'll finally have some peace around you.]

Abella: [Why do I feel like you're very happy?]

Phillipe: [If she gets kicked out, I'll be even happier.]

Abella couldn't help but laugh, and she replied: [The concert starts at seven tomorrow night. Will you pick me up at six-thirty?]

Phillipe: [Sure, are you going to sleep now?]

Abella: [I still have some work to finish.]

Phillipe immediately initiated a video call, surprising Abella, but she answered it.

"I'll keep you company," Phillipe said, watching her work quietly without interrupting.

Abella propped her phone against a tissue box and started flipping through the documents.

Phillipe watched her eyelashes flutter, her elegant nose, clear eyes, and beautiful features. She was indescribably attractive.

"Live streaming is quite popular lately. My team wants to get some well-known streamers to help sell this season's new products, saying it would be faster than usual."

As soon as Abella finished speaking, Phillipe responded, "Indeed, the Bourbon Group had a batch of watches that were expensive and outdated, and they couldn't sell them in physical stores. We got streamers to sell them."

"Do they also charge a hundred thousand dollars per hour plus a 10% commission?"

"Each streamer charges differently. It depends on the streaming duration, specific products, and the size of the cooperating company. I'll have Gabriel send you their rate sheet so you have an idea for your first hire."

"Can I see your internal information?"

"Of course," Phillipe said, sending a message to Gabriel.

Soon, Gabriel sent the streamers' rate sheet to Abella's email and told her how to negotiate the price.

After a while, Kimberly knocked on the door. "Abella, are you asleep? I brought you something to eat."

"Come in," Abella said, not taking her eyes off the documents.

"This is a nutritional supplement I made for you tonight. Phillipe?" Kimberly saw a handsome face on her daughter's phone. Were they on a video call? Was she interrupting them?

"Mrs. Medici, you're still up this late?" Phillipe said politely. "Bringing Abella something to eat? Thank you."

Kimberly was a bit stunned. "Yes, I was worried Abella would get tired from working. Are you keeping her company remotely?"

"Yes."

"Phillipe, that's very thoughtful of you. I'll leave you two to it then," Kimberly said, feeling warm inside as she left the room.

"Mrs. Medici made you a nutritional supplement. Drink it while it's hot," Phillipe urged.

"I'll drink it in a bit," Abella said, recalculating the financial report for the month and finding that someone had mistakenly entered a decimal point. Luckily, she caught it in time.

Phillipe watched her work for a while, then saw her drink the supplement in one go before returning her attention to work.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're a workaholic?" Phillipe asked.

"Isn't 'workaholic' your title?" Abella teased while jotting down notes.

"Then we'll be the workaholic couple. Our employees are really in for it."

Abella couldn't help but laugh. "Don't distract me."

"Yes, honey," Phillipe said quietly.

It wasn't until the clock struck 2:50 AM that Abella finished all her work, took a shower, and went to bed.
