Chapter 768 Very Satisfied

"No, you should hit up your place first, then swing by ours," Vanessa said, not really caring about the order.

"I'm just stoked Abella's down to come back with me. So yeah, let's do it her way. We'll grub here first, then head over there for a bit," Phillipe said, glancing at Abella. "Sound good?"

Everyone turned to Abella, waiting for her nod.

"Okay." As soon as she agreed, everyone lit up, especially David. "Cool, I'll have Beckett and Kimberly lock down the Easter menu tonight, and we'll plan some fun stuff too."

Just thinking about how lit Easter was gonna be had him grinning, eyes sparkling with excitement.

Abella was a bit taken aback. 'Easter has activities?'

Bonnie, knowing this was Abella's first Easter back home, gently explained, "Every year, both families plan some fun stuff to make the evening more lively and warm."

"You've already spilled the beans, so Abella won't be surprised," Vanessa chuckled. "We should've kept it a bit more hush-hush."

"In past Easters, your folks would set up family trips. Sometimes I was busy, or your grandparents had already been to the spot, so they didn't join. Wonder what the plan is this year," Caleb mused. Bonnie smiled and said, "Maybe this year you can wrap up work early so both families can go on a trip with Abella. It'd be awesome if Phillipe could tag along too."

She then looked at Lola. "Lola, you cool with that?"

"Of course," Lola forced a smile, trying to seem chill. "I've had so many Easters with the fam and got loads of love. Abella hasn't had that yet, so it should totally be about her."

"Then I'll make sure your folks go all out. We can't slack on Abella, now that we've finally found her," Bonnie said.

Lola was fuming inside.

After dinner, Caleb threw an arm around Phillipe's shoulder, showing him around and chatting.

David and Vanessa pulled Abella aside for a little heart-to-heart.

"Phillipe seems solid. The way he looks at you, it's all love and care. He must be head over heels for you," David said.

Phillipe's affection for her was clear as day, genuine and open.

Vanessa nodded like crazy. "Did you catch that? Every time we asked him something, even about drinking, he'd look at you first. One look from you, and he wouldn't touch a drop. It's not about being scared of his wife; he just really cares about your feelings."

"Not a wife yet," Abella corrected.

"Just a matter of time," Vanessa gushed about Phillipe, "Look at him, young, successful, polite, and every move screams class. He's a real catch. I'm so happy you found someone like him."

"Yeah, Phillipe's got it all. Dude's flawless," David said, clearly a big fan of Phillipe.

Lurking in the shadows, Lola's face twisted with anger.

After a bit, Vanessa checked the time and turned to Abella. "What's Caleb doing, chatting with Phillipe for so long? It's already nine. Abella, go find them and tell Caleb I need him."

David chimed in, "Phillipe came here for Abella. After dinner, he should be hanging with her, not chatting with Caleb all night. Don't scare the guy off on his first visit."

"Yeah, hurry up. Young lovebirds should be together. What's an old guy doing chatting for so long?" Vanessa nudged Abella towards the garden.

Caleb and Phillipe were so deep in conversation they didn't notice the time until Abella showed up.

"You guys chat," Caleb said with a grin, stepping aside.

Once Caleb left, Abella asked, "What were you guys talking about that had you so happy?"

"The wedding," Phillipe said with a smile. "Uncle Caleb wants to be there and even promised us a gift."

Abella was surprised they were already talking wedding plans.

Phillipe reached for her hand. "I have a few friends here who wanna meet you. Got time?"

"You have friends?" Abella was a bit taken aback. After half a year together, she didn't know quiet Phillipe had a social circle.

Phillipe saw her surprise and chuckled. "Just a few. It's no big deal if you meet them or not. I just want them to know I have an amazing fiancée."

He gently touched her face, soft and delicate.

Abella understood. He just wanted to show off their love.

"Okay."

Phillipe didn't expect her to agree so quickly, his eyes lighting up with joy. "I'll set up a time and let you know."

"Okay."

They strolled hand in hand through the garden until ten, when Abella told him to get some rest.

Phillipe went to say goodbye to David and the others. They eagerly saw him to the door, loading his car with gifts until the trunk was full.

"These are just small tokens. You can't refuse!" David insisted, warmly. "Come over for dinner whenever you can. We all like you, and so does Abella."

Abella stayed quiet.

"I can't accept these," Phillipe started, but David and Caleb had already ushered him into the car, with Vanessa and Bonnie adding, "You have to take them. Accepting them means you're family. Drive safe and come back soon."

Feeling their warmth, Phillipe said softly, "Okay."

He looked at Abella again, his tone gentle. "I'll call you when I get home."

"Okay."
