Chapter 763 Supporters
So, a red sports car rolls up from a distance, right? And out steps Bonnie, rocking her curly hair and red lips, looking like a total knockout.
Everyone's jaws hit the floor when she steps out. She’s even more stunning and extra than before.
Bonnie struts out in her high heels, oozing elegance and that boss vibe that makes everyone green with envy.
She’s always been a showstopper, no matter how long it’s been since anyone’s seen her. Like, she’s this dazzling pearl you just can’t miss in any crowd.
"Get those cameras closer," Bonnie commands, all boss-like, "and bring the mics in."
The swarm of cameramen and reporters snap out of it and rush to surround her.
With all the mics in her face and cameras on her, Bonnie finally speaks up, "I’m here for the Harris Group. If any product from Beauty Skincare Group messes up, you can pick any skincare product from the Harris Group for life, on the house."
Her words set off a total frenzy.
Everyone knew Caleb was the big cheese in Verdania, and the Harris Group was a heavyweight in the city. Now, his wife was backing Beauty Skincare Group in public.
This was a clear sign of how much they valued Beauty Skincare Group!
"But if anyone’s out here causing trouble or badmouthing Beauty Skincare Group, not just the Bourbon Group, but the Harris Group won’t let it slide!" Bonnie’s fierce words made the curly-haired woman freak out and drop her knife.
Lola, watching the news, was fuming.
Phillipe had rushed to back Beauty Skincare Group, and now Bonnie was in on it too!
Two major groups were openly shielding a small group.
They didn’t even care if people laughed at them!
Just then, the sound of police sirens blared from a distance.
No one expected such a minor issue to bring in over a dozen police cars. The media reporters were stunned for a sec before they started snapping pics of the police cars.
Hearing the shutters click, the other reporters quickly jumped into action and ran over to get interviews.
The police captain who stepped out was tall and built, with a no-nonsense look. The other officers, radiating authority, followed him.
He brushed off the reporters' questions and headed straight for Phillipe.
"Mr. Bourbon," the captain said respectfully, "did you call us?"
"Yeah." Phillipe stood tall, exuding that noble aura. "The VP of Beauty Skincare Group will fill you in on the details. Right now, I suggest holding a press conference to make the investigation process and results public, clearing Beauty Skincare Group’s name."
Everyone was floored!
Phillipe had so much faith in Beauty Skincare Group that he wanted the reporters to stick around for the results.
"I’m in," Bonnie said smoothly, "Private investigations can stir up rumors. If we show the whole investigation process to the public, the truth will be out there for everyone to see."
The disfigured folks didn’t expect things to blow up like this. Not only was Phillipe here, but Caleb’s wife was too.
Their eyes started showing signs of guilt.
"Let’s move everyone to the Beauty Skincare Group’s cafeteria," Abella suggested.
The cafeteria was huge, artsy, and could fit a ton of people.
All the reporters, cameramen, and bystanders got invited over to chow down on some free grub.
No one expected a skincare company to have such killer employee perks. The meals switched up every couple of weeks, and there were all sorts of tasty snacks, afternoon tea, and fancy coffee.
The cops had already started digging into the truth in groups. A few officers stuck around because Abella had some questions for the disfigured folks.
"Try our group's drinks and snacks; they're as good as anything out there." Celine personally brought coffee and snacks to the disfigured folks and casually sat down next to them. "Beauty Skincare Group treats both employees and customers right. No matter why you're trashing Beauty Skincare Group, since the cops are on it, I suggest you spill the truth. Don't mess up your future and stress out your families."
The disfigured folks stared at the snacks but kept quiet.
Abella cut to the chase. "Did Beauty Skincare Group mess up your faces?"
All the disfigured folks stayed silent, avoiding Abella's gaze.
If they had known about her background, no amount of cash would have brought them here.
In Verdania, crossing Bonnie was like crossing Caleb, making it impossible to stay in the city.
But crossing Phillipe meant they couldn't survive outside Verdania either.
Now, both of them were here.
Abella added, "I don't know who put you up to this, but I can fix your faces and even make your skin better than before."
Hearing Abella's words, the seven or eight disfigured folks looked up in shock.
"Can you really?"
"Even dermatologists couldn't help us. How can a young girl like you fix our skin? What method will you use? How long will it take?"
"We used your products and ended up like this. Do you think we would trust you again?"
"If it weren't for your products, our faces wouldn't be ruined like this."
Seeing them all talking at once, Abella calmly said, "If you had really used Beauty Skincare Group's products, you wouldn't say they were ineffective. No matter the skin type, our products improve the skin's condition. Such a drastic difference is impossible unless you didn't use Beauty Skincare Group's products."
The disfigured folks' eyes showed a hint of guilt.
Abella directly pointed out. "I can tell you're lying."
Now, the disfigured folks felt even guiltier, not daring to look Abella in the eye or even in her direction.
"I dare say that no one in the world can restore your skin except me. Even if there are one or two world-renowned doctors, their fees won't be cheap," Abella said unhurriedly, "You can think it over. This is your only chance."
The disfigured folks still said nothing, but Abella noticed a young college student in her early twenties picking at her nails, seemingly weighing her options.
Abella continued, "Even if you say nothing, the cops will find out. Whether your purchase receipts are real, whether the products you used are from Beauty Skincare Group, and whether the test results are genuine will all come to light. By then, you'll be the ones facing charges."
