Chapter 259 Making a Fool of Oneself
It was unclear how much time had passed when Blake suddenly remembered that there was someone beside him on the other side and looked over. "Lola?"
Lola finally heard her brother calling her and raised the corners of her mouth. The smile on her face hadn't fully bloomed yet.
"How many points did you get on the SAT this time?" Blake hadn't asked about Lola's score since they got home, but he knew Abella had scored perfectly!
Although Blake's voice was low, Lola's face turned a bit embarrassed. She could even hear Elsa chuckling softly beside her.
"Blake," Elsa smiled and called out, taking the initiative, "Lola got a score of 722, and I got 731."
"I heard the exam was quite difficult this time. It's impressive that you scored 731." Blake said.
Elsa raised her chin and looked at Lola with interest. Before she could start feeling happy, Blake added another sentence.
"But the most impressive one is still Abella." Upon saying this, Blake saw the restaurant manager serving another dish. He picked up the communal chopsticks and put some food in Abella's bowl. "Abella, eat more, you're too thin!"
Phillipe peeled a shrimp for Abella and placed it in her bowl. Not wanting to be outdone, Blake grabbed a crab tool from the side of the dish, picked out the crab meat, and placed it in Abella's bowl.
Mrs. Medici served Abella some vegetables, and Mr. Medici added some soup for her. The whole family's attention was focused on Abella.
Elsa's eyes flashed with calculation. She lowered her gaze and glanced at Lola's skirt sweeping the floor. She discreetly pressed it down with the leg of her chair, then lifted a glass of orange juice and proceeded to say, "Abella, let me toast you with orange juice instead of wine."
Before she could finish her sentence, she pretended to have lost her grip and accidentally spilled it on Lola's skirt.
"Ah!" Lola didn't expect this wicked person to play such tricks in front of so many people.
Margaret had long seen through these petty tricks but chose not to expose them in front of everyone. She pretended to reprimand Elsa, saying, "Elsa, why are you so careless? Quickly apologize to Lola!"
"I'm sorry, Lola, I didn't mean to!" Elsa looked very remorseful.
"Are you okay?" Blake pulled out a few tissues and helped Lola wipe her skirt, unaware of the scheming between the girls.
The skirt was too long; it couldn't be completely wiped clean.
Lola couldn't get angry in front of so many people, especially with Phillipe present. She stood up and said, "I'll go to the restroom and clean up."
Elsa's eyes flashed with delight because she had already discreetly pressed Lola's skirt down with the chair leg.
In a hurry to go to the restroom, Lola suddenly let out a cry and fell to the ground.
"Lola, are you okay? Why did you fall?" Elsa hurriedly went forward to help, actually getting a close look at Lola's embarrassment and giving her a triumphant look. "Was it because your skirt is too long? You really are clumsy! Are you hurt?"
"You!" Lola didn't have a chance to get angry.
Elsa immediately apologized, "It's all my fault. I accidentally dirtied your gown. And in your rush to get to the restroom, you tripped and fell because of the skirt. After the meal is over, you can come to my house and pick a new dress. In order to apologize, let me help you up so you're not lying down on the cold ground."
"Elsa pretended to offer her assistance, purposely stepping on Lola's skirt. Before Lola could stand up, she immediately fell down again, landing on the ground with a thud, and the sound of the skirt tearing could be heard.
Seeing this, Elsa hurriedly said, "Lola, don't worry, I'll cover you!" She pretended to shield her in her torn skirt, but in reality, she was deliberately causing trouble, exposing more of Lola's skin.
"Go away!" Lola pushed her away in anger, instinctively covering the exposed part of her leg, and with Maria's support, she stood up, still shaken.
Elsa quickly apologized, and also glanced at the Medici couple, saying, "I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional. I was just trying to toast Abella with all my heart, but I couldn't hold the cup steady. It's all my fault. I applied hand cream before leaving, making it slippery... I'm really sorry! I just wanted to help Lola stand up, I didn't expect her to fall again... I'm truly sorry, Lola!" She appeared sincerely apologetic, even offering her own shawl, "Lola, please take this for now."
Lola angrily stormed off towards the restroom, not even bothering to look at Elsa.
Feeling wronged, Elsa bit her lip and held onto her shawl, saying dejectedly, "Is Lola mad at me?"
"Wait for her to come out, then apologize properly!" Margaret instructed sternly, then smiling at the Medici couple, she said, "I'm really sorry, this child is impulsive. Let me apologize to you on her behalf. When Lola comes out, feel free to scold or punish her."
"Elsa didn't do it on purpose. Let it go." Although Mrs. Medici was a bit concerned about Lola's fall, since both mother and daughter had already apologized, she couldn't make it difficult for them. It seemed that Elsa had no ill intentions either. Mrs. Medici could only say, "Maria, go to the RV and fetch a spare dress for Lola. Check if she's injured and bring the first aid kit if necessary."
"Yes." As Maria passed by Elsa, she deliberately stepped on her skirt. Only Elsa herself felt it being stepped on. She looked at Maria's back and thought, "Old woman, Lola isn't even a Medici family child anymore, why are you still so loyal!"
Abella immediately noticed Elsa's deceptive behavior, but it had nothing to do with her. She continued eating from her plate, casually chatting with the people around her.
In the restaurant hall, the servers noticed many guests wandering around, eating at other tables, making the whole first floor chaotic. They couldn't help but step forward and remind the guests, "Sorry, Sirs, this table is not available."
They then turned to the women nearby and said, "Apologies, Ladies, this area is not for dining."
They even saw an old lady about to let a two-year-old child urinate in the soil of an indoor plant, and quickly went up to stop her, saying, "Sorry, madam, the restroom is located two hundred meters down the corridor, on the left."
"My grandson can't water this tree? He can't hold it... 200 meters? Too far" As she spoke, the child peed, dirtying the soil and carpet.
"My nephew has booked the entire hall, and we can't even sit? You're really controlling, huh?" A middle-aged man with a cigarette in his mouth looked at the waiter and angrily slapped the table, saying, "Call your manager, I want to file a complaint!"
"Mr. Wilson only booked a long table with eighty-eight seats, and did not reserve any other areas. Even if you call the manager, the result will be the same. Unless Mr. Wilson pays more, you can only utilize the front area."
