Chapter 697 A Beating

"Ah, crap!" Lola yelped as red wine gushed into her mouth.

Even with her eyes squeezed shut, some wine still seeped in, stinging like hell.

And her ear? Yeah, since her face was smushed sideways onto the plate, one ear got a good soaking too.

Abella yanked her hair hard, dumping two bottles of red wine right on her face, not even flinching.

Lola flailed her arms wildly behind her, trying to smack Abella, but two waiters jumped in and pinned her down.

Two bottles of red wine drenched her head and face. Even though the restaurant had heating, the wine soaking into her clothes made her shiver all over.

She was fuming. 'Damn Abella, how dare she? Humiliating me in front of everyone like this.'

After pouring the wine, Abella finally let go, tossing her aside like trash.

Lola couldn't keep her balance and crashed to the ground, smacking her head on a nearby chair.

Bradley and a bunch of waiters rushed over, crowding around Abella, asking, "Ms. Medici, you okay?"

One handed Abella a disinfectant wipe for her hands, another carefully dabbed at the wine stains on her clothes, four quickly cleaned the table, swapping out the tablecloth, one knelt down to wipe the wine off her shoes, and another hurriedly mopped the floor.

Meanwhile, Lola was left in a pitiful state, with no one giving her a second glance.

Lola couldn't wrap her head around it. Abella wasn't some big shot here, so why were these waiters treating her like royalty?

Could it be that Abella had dropped a ton of cash and become a VIP here?

"Ms. Medici, I'm so sorry for the scare and for ruining your meal. I'll have her thrown out right away!" Bradley called for security, adding, "From now on, don't let this nutjob in!"

"What nutjob? Let go of me, let go!" Lola was dragged out.

Bonnie had just finished in the restroom when she got a call, her subordinate reporting in. She listened, annoyed. "Skyview Restaurant, 69th floor, come over and talk."

He'd been yammering for about twenty minutes, making Abella wait for twenty minutes too.

Bonnie put away her phone, tapping her high heels impatiently. As soon as she walked into the restaurant, Bradley hurried over, nervously explaining everything that had happened.

Bonnie saw that all the other guests had left, and their table had been re-set. A bunch of waiters stood neatly by their table, looking like they were waiting for a scolding.

"Ms. Medici's spot is a blind spot for the cameras, only catching the table legs and the lower half of the person, missing the important stuff." Bradley handed the iPad to Bonnie with shaking hands.

Bonnie's face was ice-cold, her naturally striking and commanding presence now sharp enough to cut someone to pieces.

The surveillance only showed the lower half of the person, revealing a pink skirt, a pair of UGG boots, and the wine spilled on the floor.

Bonnie didn't have the patience to watch it all, tossing the iPad back to Bradley. "I just went to the restroom, and my niece gets treated like this? If I had gone home to get something, what kind of scene would I come back to?"

Bradley had never seen Bonnie this pissed, especially with that last line she practically shouted, making everyone drop their heads in fear.

"Mrs. Harris, please, don't be mad. I'll get to the bottom of this," Bradley stammered, scrambling to find someone to blame.

He turned on the waiters, "Who let that nutjob in?"

A scared young girl stepped forward, almost in tears, looking like a deer in headlights.

"I'm sorry, manager. She said she knew Ms. Medici and had a few words to say to her. She was dressed in a limited edition outfit, looking all rich and fancy, so I thought she was Ms. Medici's friend and didn't dare to turn her away."

She didn't dare to question Abella's friends too much! If she had, she might've gotten chewed out.

"But I never thought she was a lunatic. I'm sorry, manager, I messed up. I won't do it again." Valerie was on the verge of breaking down, looking totally helpless.

"Do you think saying sorry cuts it? Didn't you see Ms. Medici got champagne on her? Do you know how much her outfit costs? Saying it out loud might scare you to death!"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ramsey, really sorry. I'll go apologize to Ms. Medici right now." Valerie went to Abella, crying. "I'm sorry, Ms. Medici, I'm sorry, Mrs. Harris. I really didn't know who she was. If I knew she was gonna pull this crazy stunt, I wouldn't have let her in."

"Stop crying and ruining Ms. Medici and Mrs. Harris' mood! Now that it's happened, what's the point of apologizing?" Bradley snapped, making Valerie cry even harder.

"It's not your fault." Abella looked up at Valerie, who was about her age but was out here working to make a living.

Seeing a chance to smooth things over, Bradley quickly added, "Ms. Medici is generous and doesn't blame you. You should thank her! If you had to pay for Ms. Medici's outfit, you wouldn't be able to afford it even after working for fifty years!"

Valerie knew how expensive Abella's outfit was. She really couldn't afford it. She was super grateful that Abella was being kind and forgiving.

Abella said, "You did nothing wrong, why apologize?"

If every customer had to be grilled before entering the restaurant, would the place still run? Who'd dare to come?

Who could guarantee that a customer wouldn't lie? That they were a good person?

"Besides, you were the first to help me wipe the wine off my clothes. I should be thanking you." Valerie didn't expect Abella to thank her back, and she burst into tears.

Bonnie knew the real issue wasn't with the restaurant. The pink skirt in the surveillance reminded her of someone.

She couldn't help but ask, "Abella, is she the one who tried to snatch your clothes on Riviera Avenue today? Do you know her?"

Abella nodded. "Yeah, I know her."

"You all can leave now."

Bonnie couldn't let it go. She pulled out her phone and texted Leon Vasquez. Bonnie: [There's a girl leaving Skyview Restaurant, wearing a pink outfit, UGG boots, with brown wavy hair. Find her and put her in a sack and give her a beating.]

Leon was a loyal subordinate she had taken from Alexis.

After sending the message, Bonnie put away her phone and looked at Abella. "Did you suffer just now?"

Abella smiled lightly. "No, she did."
