Chapter 755 Sophistry

"Ms. Lola Medici."

"What the heck happened to my room?" Lola snapped, "Did a thief break in? Are the other rooms trashed too? Was I attacked in my sleep last night? Why am I covered in cuts and bruises? And why are you all looking at me like I'm a monster?"

The servant spilled the beans about everything that went down last night.

Lola was floored. "Then why is my hand so swollen and killing me?"

"Well, you karate chopped a table last night and messed up your hand. Ms. Abella Medici said there's a slight fracture. Lucky for you, no bones are out of place. You'll just need a cast for about two weeks once you wake up."

Lola couldn't wrap her head around it. The servant had just told her about all the ridiculous stuff she did after coming home, like running in place, knocking over a vase, rolling down the stairs, and farting non-stop.

But karate chopping a table and breaking her hand? What the heck?

After Lola kept pushing for answers, the servant finally spilled the rest.

Lola was stunned. She had kissed a tree in front of Phillipe and Henry, did a pole dance, and karate chopped a table.

She had also said a bunch of embarrassing stuff.

And that wasn't even the worst of it; she had tried to poop on Abella's balcony.

A bunch of servants had seen it!

It was beyond humiliating!

"Because you were so out of control last night and there was no antidote, Mrs. Harris had to tie you to the bed." Emma glanced at Lola's wrists, where the ties were now gone. It was clear that Lola had broken them with her strength last night.

"Aunt Bonnie tied me to the bed last night? Then how am I standing here?" Lola looked down at her wrists, which were covered in marks from being tied. She must have broken free from whatever had bound her.

Emma also recounted how Lola had tried to kiss David, insulted Vanessa and Bonnie, and why the servants were so afraid of her.

"Last night, you insisted on feeding Zara a slipper, saying it was a cake you made and that she would disrespect you if she didn't eat it."

"You also tried to pull Elia's hair, claiming she was wearing a wig and insisting on seeing her bald head."

"You said you were a farm owner and made everyone crawl on the ground like animals. At one point, you wanted the sheep to eat grass, which was your clothes in the wardrobe, and then you wanted the cows to drink water from the toilet."

"You mistook Emma for a mistress and slapped her several times, knocking out her teeth."

Lola couldn't believe the drug's effects were so strong that it made her do so many embarrassing things!

No wonder the servants looked at her like she was a demon. Luckily, Erin had told her all this; otherwise, she wouldn't have known how outrageous she had been.

"I didn't do anything to you last night, did I?" Lola feigned concern.

"Ms. Lola Medici, you were relatively kind to me. You just made me pretend to be a horse and carry you around the room. But you did whip me with a ladies' belt for half an hour, and my butt still hurts."

Lola winced at the thought. She couldn't believe she had done so many bizarre things last night. "I'll give you all a bonus later. I'm really sorry; I was drunk last night."

After drinking the lemon water last night, she knew the drug's effects would be terrifying. To cover it up, she had deliberately drunk a small glass of whiskey in front of her family.

She planned to pin all her wild antics on being drunk.

I mean, who hasn't gotten wasted and done something crazy, right?

"Get someone to clean up my room. I'm gonna take a shower," Lola said, still feeling all sticky and gross.

Half an hour later, she came downstairs, fresh from her shower, and immediately spotted Bonnie lounging on the main sofa, eyes glued to a tablet.

Bonnie was deep into some financial news. She looked up and said, "Sober now?"

"Aunt Bonnie." Lola's voice was all timid, bracing for Bonnie to lay into her.

Bonnie set the tablet aside and commanded, "Call the doctor."

"Yes, ma'am." The servant quickly fetched Philip West.

"You busted your hand last night karate chopping a table. I called the doc to check on you."

Lola felt like Bonnie's tone had a bit of a bite to it but still thanked her, "Thanks, Aunt Bonnie."

"Ms. Lola Medici, please sit down. Let me take a look." Philip was a top-notch orthopedic doc and one of the Harris family's go-to physicians.

Lola plopped down on the sofa, feeling like Bonnie's stare could see right through her. She jumped in with an explanation, "I got drunk last night and did a bunch of crazy stuff. If the servants hadn't told me, I wouldn't have believed I was so out of control. I'm sorry, Aunt Bonnie. I didn't mean to offend you last night. Please forgive me."

Bonnie, cutting to the chase, asked, "Have you always had a thing for Phillipe? Haven't you given up on chasing him?"

"No! Abella and Phillipe are a thing. Plus, I already have Henry."

"Doesn't seem like you really like Henry."

Bonnie's words made Lola nervous. "Aunt Bonnie, no matter what I said or did last night, it was out of my control. If I could've stopped it, I wouldn't have embarrassed myself like that. It was all because of that whiskey."

"Wasn't it because of the lemon water?" Bonnie's stare was intense, almost suffocating.

Lola quickly played dumb. "What about the lemon water? It was the whiskey that made me lose it last night."

"But the doc found hallucinogens and other toxins in your system. How do you explain that?"

"Are you saying someone drugged my drink, Aunt Bonnie?" Lola's eyes went wide with fake shock. "That was Uncle Caleb's restaurant. Who would dare do such a thing? Have you found out, Aunt Bonnie? Was it the whiskey or the food? Did you all get affected too?"

"Do you really know nothing?" Bonnie's tone was skeptical, not buying Lola's act.

But Lola stuck to her story. "Aunt Bonnie, why would I drug myself? What would I gain from that?"

"What if you were trying to mess with someone else and ended up screwing yourself over?" Bonnie's words hit Lola like a ton of bricks, leaving her stunned.

Bonnie, always cold and commanding, now had a gaze that seemed to pierce through her.

Lola felt overwhelmed by Bonnie's imposing presence and gaze.

Bonnie, after all, had been through a lot more than she had, and beat her hands down in both aura and gaze.

At that moment, Lola faintly heard David coming downstairs. Tears welled up in her eyes as she hoarsely and aggrievedly asked, "What do you mean, Aunt Bonnie? Everyone at the dinner table last night is my family. We've been together for years, and even though Abella has only been back for half a year, she has given me valuable gifts and treated me well. Who would I harm? Why would I harm you all?"
