Chapter 268 Choose any house under your name
Afraid of aggravating her condition, Mr. Wilson hurriedly said, "We're leaving now, please don't be angry. There's still more breakfast in that bag, you can have it later."
"If you don't leave now, I'll call someone to remove you! Take your things and get out!" Barbara angrily shouted.
"Okay." Mr. Wilson quickly helped Mrs. Wilson up and signaled her to leave together with him.
Mrs. Wilson glared at him fiercely. Why leave now? The matter hasn't been resolved yet. They must ask Grandma for help, otherwise Abella won't give up the lawsuit, nor will she sacrifice everything like before.
They had shed tears and kneeled just now, and they had wasted expensive breakfast. They must get this done today. Otherwise, it would be a loss!
"Let's go!" Mr. Wilson forcefully pulled her hand and they left.
Just as they walked out of the hospital room, Mrs. Wilson couldn't help but shake off his hand and scold him, "What are you doing? If Grandma agrees to help us, maybe Abella won't pursue the lawsuit and we won't have to sacrifice everything if she helps us like before."
It must be done today, otherwise it would be a loss!
Even if QY is willing to give us... Not to mention just giving us, but letting us become major shareholders in name, wouldn't that be better than our current situation?"
"Have you not seen how furious Grandma is?" Mr. Wilson glanced at the door of the hospital room, helplessly saying, "Let's go home and think of a strategy."
"I don't understand why Grandma treats a stranger better than her own family!" Mrs. Wilson couldn't comprehend why Abella was favored. Other than looking decent, having some skills, and money, her cold personality was not pleasing at all.
"We should visit Grandma more often from now on. The old lady has a soft heart and will eventually agree. But that woman who was there with her today..." Mr. Wilson remembered the woman who was sitting and talking to Grandma by the bedside this morning.
Who is she? What did she say to Grandma?
Why did she get up and leave as soon as she saw them? What secrets are there that they can't know?
"Isn't it this simple?" Mrs. Wilson took out her phone and dialed a number. When they answered, she instructed, "Help me find someone. A woman who left room 301 at NYU Medical Center this morning at around 7:30. She's in her mid-twenties or early thirties, short hair, wearing glasses, and dressed professionally. Once you find her, bring her to the usual place. I want to deal with her personally."
That woman didn't even give them a proper look in Grandma's room. When they asked who she was, she didn't say anything and just left!
They couldn't do anything to Grandma, but those around her could still be intimidated a little!
Early in the morning, Abella went to Valleydale to arrange a birthday gift for Grandma. Her birthday was in a few days.
In previous years, she had given Grandma many daily items like clothes and cups that she designed and made herself. She had also given her valuable jewelry.
This year, she made a herbal pouch for Grandma to hang by her bedside to help with sleep.
She personally sewed the pouch and embroidered Grandma's favorite flowers on it. After filling it with many rare medicinal herbs, she carefully stitched up the opening.
"This is the most expensive herbal pouch I've ever seen." One of her subordinates supported his chin and watched her busy work. He couldn't help but sigh, "Boss, even her own son isn't as dutiful as you... Let alone having the patience to do this, even if you asked him to buy one with money, he wouldn't be willing, believe me."
Abella couldn't stand his constant chatter. After sealing the pouch, she made several more herbal packs for Grandma, which could be soaked in water for foot baths before bedtime.
"You treat Grandma so well, making her birthday so grand." The subordinate couldn't help but comment.
She not only made herbal pouches and herbal packs but also designed a massager by herself. The massagers on the market are all based on microcurrents, which many people don't like. They prefer traditional massage methods. Although many businesses claim to have physical massage devices, the only truly successful one that imitates a hand massage is hers.
The one she designed feels like real hands on your shoulders.
The massage device was meticulously fine-tuned by Abella during her spare time over the course of ten days. Upon seeing her finally finished, one of her subordinates couldn't help but reach out and ask, "Boss, can I try it out?"
Abella glared at him, causing him to quickly retract his hand.
"Boss, should we put this product on the market? I find it quite comfortable to use." the subordinate asked.
"This is for Grandma," Abella replied, implying that it wasn't for sale to the public.
The massage device had various functions, such as hot compress, finger massage, and more.
Just then, Abella's phone vibrated. She looked down and saw that it was Mr. Walker calling.
She put on her headphones and answered the call, while continuing to work on what was in her hands. "Grandpa."
"What are you busy with?" Mr. Walker's robust voice came through the phone, full of vitality.
Even through the phone, Abella could imagine his spirited and radiant appearance.
"You called to remind me that Grandma's birthday is coming up, didn't you?" Abella said with a smile.
"I really can't hide anything from you, can I?" Mr. Walker chuckled heartily. "What birthday gift are you planning this year?"
Abella shared her ideas with him for reference. "A sleeping aid herbal sachet, some herbal foot soak bags, and a massage device."
"Can I have one too?" Mr. Walker particularly enjoyed her tinkering with these things. They were incredibly effective, just like the herbal pill she gave him last time, which made him feel refreshed and full of energy every day.
Abella quickly agreed, saying, "You can have the herbs, but not the massage device. It would be troublesome to make another one. You can buy one at a shop."
Mr. Walker laughed again. Many people were lining up to give him gifts, yet this girl didn't want to him them even when the opportunity was right in front of her.
"Has your Grandma taken the medicine six times from start to finish? Will the surgery be possible in a few days?" This was the issue that concerned Mr. Walker the most.
"Yes," Abella nodded. Thanks to the medicine, her Grandma's body was no longer as fragile as before. At least now, she could lie on the operating table and allow Abella to perform the surgery without worries.
"How confident are you?" Mr. Walker asked.
Upon hearing Mr. Walker's question, Abella's lips curled up. "Do you doubt my medical skills? Would you rather have someone else do it?"
"I don't want anyone else to do it! I trust you." Mr. Walker quickly responded.
Abella's smile deepened. She knew Mr. Walker cared about Grandma, but this sentiment couldn't be expressed in words.
"Earlier, you mentioned that your Grandma didn't want to live with her son and daughter-in-law after she's discharged?" Mr. Walker asked.
"Yes, she has several properties under her name. We just don't know which one she wants to live in, so they haven't been cleaned yet" Abella answered.
"That's easy. Just give me the address, and I'll send someone to clean it! If she doesn't want to be disturbed, she can live in one of the properties under your name or mine. Whatever type or style she likes, she can choose freely. Let her pick one" Mr. Walker said.
