Chapter 1004 Dissatisfaction with Abella

At River Park, Ryan glanced at his watch. It was almost seven. He stepped outside the gate again, craning his neck to look for the person he was waiting for, but there was no sign of her.

"Why isn't she here yet?" He muttered.

"Mr. Ryan Bourbon, you should go inside. It's windy out here," Scott said with a smile. "As soon as Mr. Phillipe Bourbon's car arrives, I'll let you know right away."

"I'll wait a bit longer." Ryan stood there for another ten minutes, still no sign of Abella. He muttered to himself, "I wonder if they've left yet."

He couldn't message Phillipe, worried that the Medici family might think they were being rushed.

He just really wanted to see Abella.

It had been a long time since Abella visited them.

"Still not here?" Savannah approached and draped a coat over Ryan's shoulders. Following his gaze, she saw that there wasn't a single car in sight.

"Your hands are a bit cold," Ryan said, turning to hold Savannah's hands, noticing they were chilly. "You should go inside. I'll let you know when they arrive."

"I'm fine, I'm not cold."

"Let me warm them up for you." Ryan held her hands and put them in his pockets.

In the living room, a young heiress, bored with her phone, spoke with a hint of dissatisfaction, "She hasn't even married into our family yet, and she's already making us wait for her. If she marries Phillipe, it'll be even worse."

"Rainey," A refined young man interjected, "don't be rude to Abella."

"Jerry!" Rainey Bourbon's tone grew more agitated. "We usually start dinner at five-thirty. This year, we're waiting until seven for her! If she respected us, she would have been here already. She's just taking advantage of Phillipe's affection, with no manners at all. I don't even know what Phillipe sees in her."

"That's enough." Jerry Bourbon gave her a reproachful look. "They have to eat dinner too. Phillipe said they'd come right after. If you're hungry, you can have some snacks from the table."

"Who wants to eat that stuff?" Rainey pouted. "I don't know what Grandpa and Grandma are thinking, making all her favorite pastries. I heard tonight's dinner is all her favorite seafood dishes!"

'It's ridiculous! Even if they want to pamper Phillipe's future wife, they don't need to go this far! And dragging all of us along to accommodate her is just too much!' She grumbled inwardly.

Rainey, still fuming, noticed her sister Elara Bourbon playing a game nearby.

"Elara! Don't you have any opinions?" Rainey couldn't help but approach her. "I'm starving, aren't you?"

"Jerry already said there are snacks on the table." Elara, focused on her game, replied coolly, her eyes never leaving the screen. "Go away."

"Elara!" Rainey protested. "We need to give her a hard time, or we won't be able to live like this!"

"They're here, Mr. Phillipe Bourbon and Ms. Medici have arrived!" A servant announced excitedly as they entered.

Rainey rolled her eyes. "What's there to be happy about? It's so late. Do they have any sense of time?"

Abella wasn't even part of the Bourbon family yet, and the servants were already so fond of her?

The servant, intimidated by Rainey's glare, quickly subdued their excitement.

"Abella, you're finally here!" Savannah rushed to Abella as she got out of the car, linking arms with her. "I've been waiting for you!"

"We're so happy you could join us for dinner this year," Ryan said, smiling as he followed Abella inside.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. Merry Christmas," Abella said with a gentle smile.

"We're just glad you could come."

Phillipe, getting out of the car, was thoroughly ignored.

He retrieved the gifts from the Medici family from the trunk and carried them over. "Grandpa, Grandma, these are from Abella's parents. They wanted you to have them."

"You brought so many gifts," Ryan and Savannah said, seeing Phillipe's hands full. "That's too kind."

"And Abella has gifts for you, too. We'll give them to you after dinner."

"You prepared gifts for us?" Ryan was pleasantly surprised, both happy and touched. "Abella, you're too kind. We'll exchange gifts after dinner."

"Thank you."

Ryan and Savannah beamed at her, their joy evident.

Victoria, hearing that Abella had arrived, quickly removed her apron and rushed over.

"Abella!" Victoria hugged Abella, overjoyed. "You're finally here! I just made a dish for you. Come in, no need to take off your shoes."

"Abella's here? Great, everyone's here. I'll have the food served!" Andrew said happily.

Abella greeted everyone as she entered, noticing more people in the living room.

"Let me introduce you. This is Aunt Lyric and Uncle Armando," Phillipe said, gently holding Abella's waist.

Abella looked at the two elders who stood up from the sofa and politely said, "Aunt Lyric, Uncle Armando, nice to meet you."

"So you're the girl Phillipe likes? You're very pretty and have a great presence." The woman speaking was Lyric Vaughn, elegantly dressed, with impeccably maintained fair skin. Her every word and action exuded the grace and poise of a wealthy matriarch.

"Nice to meet you." Armando Bourbon, Andrew's older brother, had a dignified demeanor that commanded respect, clearly the result of years of cultivated refinement.

"This is my cousin Jerry," Phillipe continued.

"Hello, Abella. It's a pleasure to meet you." Jerry, handsome and charming, had an innate nobility that was evident in his every gesture.

"Hello," Abella replied softly.

"And this is my cousin Elara."

"Abella, nice to meet you." Elara, strikingly beautiful, had an air of cool serenity.

"Hello," Abella greeted her warmly.

"And this is my cousin Rainey."

Rainey, radiant like a shining pearl, greeted Abella despite Phillipe's presence. "Hello, Abella. It's nice to finally meet you."

She hadn't expected Abella to be so beautiful in person.

She used to think Elara was the most beautiful person in the world, with her unique, cool elegance, refined and noble, an indescribable beauty.
