Chapter 456 Jealousy Burns Fiercely

It was unexpected even the Umbra Society would mobilize for Abella. This was definitely true love.

The next morning, when Lola woke up, she suddenly found two people at the door, seemingly delivering something. She asked and found out that Winston and Phillipe had bought a lot of things for Abella last night, six large boxes to be exact, each box bearing the logo of this store.

Lola knew the prices of this store; even a small hairpin would cost hundreds of dollars because of its unique style and full of girlish charm, and many of her friends also liked to buy things from this brand.

As Abella's fiancé, Phillipe usually didn't buy much for Abella, but how could Winston buy so many things for her? This amount, combined with the eighteen gifts Winston gave Abella the last time he came home, was already more than what Lola had received from Winston over the years.

Lola felt a bit uncomfortable in her heart. She went to the dining area and felt even more jealous when she saw Winston busily serving Abella.

"You're awake, Lola. Here, have some milk." Winston happened to be pouring milk and handed her a cup with a bright smile.

"Winston, I don't feel like drinking milk today." Lola sat down, feeling a bit frustrated.

"Would you like a sandwich? Or should I add some cheese crumbs like before?"

"No need, Winston. I want soup."

Sensing her unhappiness, Abella glanced at her, and in that glance, she saw hostility in Lola's eyes.

"What's wrong? Didn't you get enough sleep?" Winston filled a bowl of soup for Lola and placed it in front of her. "Who made you unhappy?"

Lola lowered her head and ate the soup in silence.

"It's hard to understand a girl's mind." Winston, with a smile, said to Abella after she finished a bowl of soup, "Abella, have some more."

Abella was having breakfast when her phone suddenly vibrated. She looked and saw a video invitation from Grandpa Medici.

"Grandpa Medici."

"Abella, good morning! Having breakfast? Why do you wake up so early every day?"

On the other end of the video, Carl smiled, with a pair of reading glasses perched on his nose. "The doctor said that your grandma and I can be discharged tomorrow. Can you come and pick us up?"

"Sure," Abella replied gently. "I'll pick you up tomorrow."

"Great, we'll wait for you. Tell your parents not to bother coming. Your presence is enough."

Abella smiled. "Okay."

"Last night, I went through my phone gallery and finally found the landscape painting I did before. It was inspired by your work, a spontaneous creation. I sent it to your WhatsApp. Take a look and feel free to give me your feedback."

"Okay."

"Alright, have your breakfast first. We'll talk more after you finish."

When Carl was about to end the video call, Winslow, who was beside him, said, "Don't keep messaging and calling Abella all day. She's finally on vacation."

"I just wanted to chat with her."

"Tell her to accept the pocket money I sent."

Carl turned back to the person on the phone and said, "Abella, your grandmother said she sent you some pocket money. Remember to take it, and also the pocket money I transferred to you last night. Do you find it insufficient?"

"No, Grandpa Medici. I have my own money, enough for my needs."

"That's your own business. This is just a small token from me and your grandma. You must accept it. If you don't, it would be like keeping us at a distance."

With Lola present, Abella could only agree. "Alright."

"Remember to take it later, don't forget."

After ending the video call, Abella continued her breakfast.

Lola, sitting across from her, was in an even worse mood. She couldn't believe how much her grandparents doted on Abella.

They even transferred pocket money to her!

Every time Abella's phone vibrated, Lola couldn't help but sneak a glance, wanting to know how much pocket money her grandparents had sent and what secrets they were discussing.

Abella's slender fingers lightly touched the screen as she reviewed Grandpa Medici's work.

Lola's dissatisfaction grew. It was just breakfast, was it necessary to act so busy?

Winston noticed Lola's gloomy expression and sent her a message on his phone.

Winston: [It's normal for Grandpa and Grandma to give Abella some pocket money when she returns home. They used to give you as well.]

In the past, Lola would have felt ashamed upon reading this message. But today, she couldn't help but feel aggrieved.

Lola: [Winston, you're being unfair.]

Winston: [How am I being unfair?]

Winston was puzzled, not knowing what he had done to upset her.

Lola: [None of you like me anymore. Why can't you just be straightforward and say it? Isn't it tiring to pretend every day?]

After sending this message, Lola stood up and said, "I'm full."

She angrily threw the spoon back into the bowl, disregarding her upbringing as a young lady, and left in a huff.

"Lola." Winston started to get up to follow her, but his phone vibrated. It was a message from Phillipe.

Phillipe: [I'm here.]

Winston could only say, "Abella, Phillipe is at the door. I'll go prepare some food and drinks. Take your time eating, don't rush, and eat more."

Lola ran upstairs and waited for a while, but Winston didn't come up to comfort her.

She knew it, Winston was just pretending!

He said he would treat her like a sister, but he bought so many things for Abella and served her like a maid!

Has Abella even taken a good look at him?

He didn't even buy her a small trinket last night, not even a hairpin!!

At that moment, Maria, who had noticed the commotion, walked up the stairs and asked with concern, "Ms. Lola, are you crying?"

"No." Lola wiped away her tears, still pouting.

"Look outside."

Lola didn't understand what was so interesting outside, but when she looked up, she saw Winston carrying a backpack, opening the car door for Abella. It seemed they were going out to have fun with Phillipe.

"You're crying upstairs, and the three of them are happily going to walk on the glass bridge. What does that mean? It means Winston doesn't care about your feelings."

Lola's jealousy couldn't be suppressed and burned fiercely.

"When the maid was cleaning Ms. Abella's room this morning, guess what she saw?"

Lola asked angrily, "What?"

"Winston's exclusive black card, right on Ms. Abella's desk. What does that mean? Winston gave his own exclusive black card to Ms. Abella!" Maria said, emphasizing her point. "Has Winston ever treated you like this?"

Upon hearing this, Lola felt even more uncomfortable.

"Not to mention how much Winston has earned over the years, just the monthly dividends from the Medici family group are more than enough, and now he's giving it all to Abella alone! Miss Lola, there is a difference between a blood-related sibling and an outsider like you."
