Chapter 253 Attending the Celebration Dinner
"You can't afford it, yet you go shopping?" Abella sarcastically raised an eyebrow as she looked at the gift box in his hands.
Mr. Wilson was speechless for a moment and then said, "This is my last bit of savings. I've said that as long as I still have something, I'm willing to give it all to you!"
Seeing that Abella didn't believe him, Mr. Wilson added, "You saw at the mall earlier, Remy paid for Isla's things. I have no money, I can't afford..."
"Enough," Abella interrupted, her patience with them wearing thin.
But Mr. Wilson persisted, "Abella, Isla can't be punished and she can't be publicly humilated. If news of this gets out, not only will her reputation be damaged, but it will also affect our family... When she marries into the Johnson family in the future, Remy's parents will shun her!"
"Why do I care?" Abella said. Isla, someone like her, wanting to step into the Johnson family's life?

Before Isla could finish her words, she noticed Abella's eyes turning colder. Hastily, she continued to plead, "I'm sorry, please forgive me."
"Go away!" Abella lost all her patience, pushing Isla away and preparing to get into the car.
Mr. Wilson hurried to catch Isla, while Mrs. Wilson now blocked the car door. "Abella, are you really willing to push your parents to their death?"
Hearing this, Abella raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Will it really cause your death? Well, I would be delighted then."
Mrs. Wilson's face turned ugly for a moment as she realized something. She then pulled Isla, who was by her side, to kneel down. "You were angry at Isla for spreading rumors in front of everyone, right? I'm making her kneel down to apologize. Isn't this enough sincerity?"
Upon hearing this, Abella coldly curved her lips. "Even if all of you cut your wrists in front of me, I still won't withdraw my lawsuit. Give up on that idea!"
"Abella, are you angry because Remy is nice to me? If you really like him, you can have him!" Isla cried while kneeling on the ground, looking pitiful. "He is interested in me, I can't do anything about it..."
As she said this, Isla earnestly added, "I've advised him several times to stay with you, but he just won't listen!"
Abella was about to get into the car, but upon hearing this, she couldn't help but let out a mocking smile. "Oh, did he not tell you? He has been pursuing me recently."
This sentence immediately left the family of three stunned!
Remy had been pursuing her recently??
"It seems like you haven't checked his phone? I don't know how many different numbers he has used to message me. On the way back, Isla took out her phone and called Remy, intending to question him about what Abella had just told them.
To her surprise, as soon as Remy answered the call, he started talking, "Isla, I won't be going to tonight's dinner. I'm feeling a bit unwell."
Upon hearing this, Isla immediately guessed that Remy was blaming her for what happened at the mall today! He must think she embarrassed him!
But her family had already spread the news, saying that the Johnson family would be coming. If their friends and relatives didn't see Remy tonight, they would think they were lying...
If the Wilson family and the Johnson family's union didn't materialize, they would only be looked down upon even more...
With these thoughts in mind, Isla decided to take a different approach to secure her place with him, "Remy, my stomach is also feeling a bit uncomfortable. I even felt like vomiting earlier. Feeling relieved, Isla replied, "Alright, have a good rest. I'll wait for you at the restaurant tonight."

She suddenly felt that her decision to sacrifice herself was right. At least, when Remy wanted to abandon her, there was still this matter that could hold his heart.
That evening the Wilson couple and Isla chose to attend in formal attire.
Isla was wearing a simply styled dress. Even though it was a branded one, it didn't have any logos on it. She let her hair down, giving off a pure and charming vibe.
As soon as they got out of the car, another family warmly greeted them.
"Hahaha! Jeff, long time no see! So, the rumors about you having financial issues are false, based on the car you're driving and that reservation at CCG Diner... I heard it's owned by the Bourbon Group, and known for being hard to get a table!"
The person speaking was Mr. Wilson's old friend, Frank. They had occasionally heard rumors about the Wilson family's imminent bankruptcy, but they hadn't offered any help and had been observing from the sidelines. However, upon seeing them today, they suddenly assumed that those rumors were all false!
"Skylar, you're becoming more and more beautiful! Just looking at your appearance and this gown, those little gossips must be spreading false stories!" The woman speaking was Frank's wife, Elizabeth, who was also dressed very elegantly.
Mrs. Wilson smiled graciously and said, "The better we do, the more jealous people become!"
Elizabeth thought to herself, "If they really are on the verge of bankruptcy, how can they afford to host a banquet here?" In that moment, her gaze fell on Isla beside her, and she couldn't help but ask curiously, "Who is this? Didn't you mention on the phone that your daughter did well on her exams and wanted to treat us to a meal? Where is Abella?"
Isla, upon hearing this, felt a bit embarrassed but maintained a polite smile.
