Chapter 934 Exchange
After getting Kimberly's permission, Henry hurriedly followed the servant inside.
Seeing four elders sitting around the garden table, Henry suppressed his anxiety and greeted them politely, "Mr. Medici, Mrs. Medici, Uncle Caleb, Aunt Bonnie, I'm really sorry to bother you so late."
David and Vanessa had already gone inside, not wanting to hear any more about Lola.
Seeing that Beckett and Kimberly didn't respond immediately, Bonnie spoke up, "You don't need to call us that anymore."
Henry was taken aback and confused by her words.
"Lola is no longer family to Caleb and me."
Although Henry didn't understand what had happened, he quickly corrected himself, "I'm sorry, Mr. Harris, Mrs. Harris. I don't know what Lola did to make you so angry. Also, may I ask why she is no longer your family? Did she find her biological parents?"
Previously, Bonnie had told him at their home that Lola wasn't the Medici family's daughter.
"You'll understand after watching these videos," Kimberly said, pulling up the surveillance footage from the abandoned building for Henry to see.
Henry was shocked by what he saw. After watching, he felt a chill run through his body.
As Lola's boyfriend, he knew he had no right to sit down. He stood up and bowed, "I'm sorry. I didn't know Lola did such a thing. This time, she really went too far."
"This has nothing to do with you. Sit down, don't be nervous," Kimberly said, always fair and just. Since Henry wasn't involved, they wouldn't blame him.
"Lola has really disappointed you all." Henry knew that Lola's grave mistake couldn't be easily forgiven.
"You saw the surveillance and heard the conversations. For the past six months, Lola and Maria have been bullying Abella. She even tried to seduce Abella's fiancé multiple times."
Kimberly was furious, "We raised her as our daughter for eighteen years, and she has no decency at all. To achieve her goals, she resorted to such shameless acts!"
Henry's eyes dimmed with sadness. He remembered the time Lola got drunk at Bonnie's house and said he wasn't good enough for her, that she wanted to have Phillipe's child.
That incident had shattered his heart, and now the surveillance footage had crushed it even more.
Only now did he realize that during their relationship, Lola had been making advances toward Phillipe.
That time at Bonnie's house, Lola wasn't just drunk; she had drugged Abella, and when Abella found out, it backfired on her.
She had been under the influence of the drug and spoke her true feelings.
"We, the Medici family, raised her as our own daughter, but how did she repay us? Even beating her would be too lenient. Now that Jacob hasn't shown up, we don't care anymore. If Lola starves or falls ill, it's none of our concern!"
Kimberly's resolute words made Henry worry, "Mrs. Medici..."
Hearing her words, Henry felt a genuine fear that Lola might actually starve or fall ill as Kimberly had said.
Given the severity of the situation, she must have been beaten by the Medici family. If she was injured and didn't receive timely treatment or food.
The surveillance footage was from two days ago, which meant Lola could have been injured and starving for two days already.
"Mrs. Medici, I know Lola made a huge mistake and disappointed you. This is your family matter, and I have no right to interfere. But Lola is still my girlfriend."
Everyone looked at him in shock, as if he had lost his mind.
"She's done all this, and you still consider her your girlfriend?"
"Henry, we're telling you the truth because you're a good kid," Bonnie said, putting down her teacup. "For eighteen years, our family's love couldn't warm her heart. Do you think you can? How long have you been together? She didn't even tell you she was adopted, causing you to fight with Phillipe. What does that say? It shows you mean nothing to her. She only chose you because she couldn't get anyone better."
"Henry, we used to believe she would change, just like you. We gave her countless chances, but you saw and heard what she did in the surveillance footage." Caleb didn't want him to go down a dark path.
"You know how the Medici family operates. If it hadn't come to this, we wouldn't have locked her up and ignored her." Beckett advised kindly, "You deserve better. Find someone else."
"Consider today's events as if they never happened. Don't spread the Medici family's affairs. Go home, and from now on, you have nothing to do with her." Kimberly waved her hand, signaling him to leave.
But Henry had pursued Lola for six years. He couldn't bear to watch her fall into the abyss, possibly losing her life.
"Mr. Medici, Mrs. Medici, Mr. Harris, Mrs.Harris, I know you're looking out for me, but the time I've spent with Lola has been the happiest of my life. When I confessed to her, I promised that no matter what happened, I wouldn't let go of her hand."
"Lola used to be a kind and innocent person. Part of the reason she went astray is because of the people around her, stirring up trouble and influencing her. Of course, she was also overly protected, immature, and indecisive. This time, she made a terrible mistake. I was shocked and found it hard to believe, but I can't just watch her die."
"Easter is coming soon. Keeping Lola here will only upset you. She's been pampered since childhood and is physically weak. If something happens to her, it would be unfortunate, wouldn't it? Why not let me take her?"
Everyone was speechless, surprised that he still wanted to save her despite everything.
"I know you want Jacob. I promise to bring him to you within a week."
Bonnie raised an eyebrow and smirked, "You think you can catch someone we can't?"
