Chapter 575 Good Things Happened to Good People

The next morning, Abella woke up to a call from Clare.

"Abella, Mr. Harris sent the 'Piercing of Heart' to Fischers Group for me, thanking me for saving his life last night. What's going on?" Clare sounded puzzled.

Abella, still half-asleep, was confused too. "What did you say?"

"Didn't you fail to get the 'Piercing of Heart' last night?" Clare guessed. "Did you save someone, and they bought it to thank you?"

"Could it be Mr. Harris?" Abella thought of that handsome guy from last night.

He had mistaken her for Clare.

Abella quickly explained the events to Clare, who then understood. "I knew it. I was on a plane all night and didn't save anyone. It had to be you."

That explained why the 'Piercing of Heart' was sent to Fischers Group for Clare.

"So Mr. Harris mistook you for me." Clare laughed. "Even though you didn't get it last night, it ended up with you anyway."

Abella didn't expect the 'Piercing of Heart' Mike mentioned was bought by James.

What a coincidence.

She wondered, 'How did he know I wanted it and decided to give it to me? Was it because I helped him last night?'

"Abella, maybe Mr. Harris likes you," Clare teased. "He seems very interested in you."

"Stop it."

"He knows what you like."

Abella, sounding lazy, said, "Have someone send the 'Piercing of Heart' to the school for Rodolfo. I'll check it out tomorrow."

"Okay, no problem," Clare said, then added, "Abella, how old is Mr. Harris? Is he young? Handsome? He sounds generous."

Abella replied, "You've met him, the guy who helped us on the cruise."

"So it was him." Clare pictured the polite man. "He looks a bit older than Phillipe but is quite handsome and charming."

"Why compare him to Phillipe?" Abella chatted a bit more before hanging up.

After breakfast, Abella got a call from Mike.

"Sorry, my friend's friend doesn't have the 'Piercing of Heart' either. Please wait a bit longer; I'll keep looking," Mike said apologetically.

"No need," Abella said lazily. "I don't need it anymore."

Mike thought she was upset and quickly added, "My friend's friend had it, but it was bought at a high price. Please wait a few more days; I promise there will be news soon."

Abella found it amusing. "Really, no need. I don't want it anymore. I have to go."

"Wait," Mike said, worried she thought he was lying. 'What if she never works with me again?'

In his panic, Mike came up with a plan.

Soon after, Abella's phone buzzed with a deposit of thirty million dollars. She checked and saw it was from Mike. 'Is this guy nuts?'

Then, Mike sent her a message.

Mike: [This thirty million is a small apology for not delivering the 'Piercing of Heart' today. You must accept it.]

Mike: [I'll keep looking for the 'Piercing of Heart.' Please take this money as my apology. It's yours to keep.]

Abella was stunned. She tried to send it back, but he had already blocked her.

'Only by accepting it would there be a chance for future cooperation,' Mike thought.

Abella sighed. 'Fine, if it's a gift, I'll take it. Free money, why not?'

After a bit, she finished reading the last few pages of the medical record and texted Mark to pick her up early.

Mark was having breakfast when he got the message. He jumped up, leaving his food, and drove out.

At the hotel entrance, Mark eagerly looked for Abella. When he saw her, he called out, "Ms. Wilson!"

He rushed over to help with her bag.

Abella said, "No need, I can carry it myself."

"Ms. Wilson, you're too kind. Let me handle this," Mark insisted, taking her bag and opening the car door for her.

Abella got in, and Mark happily returned to the driver's seat. Glancing in the rearview mirror, he said, "Honestly, Ms. Wilson, I didn't expect you to come over. Thank you so much."

"I've reviewed the patient's medical record. Multiple medications are needed, but it's manageable," Abella said.

"Ms. Wilson, do you think there's a chance of recovery?" Mark asked, hopeful. "How confident are you?"

"About ninety percent." Abella didn't want to sound too sure, but she was actually one hundred percent confident.

Mark was thrilled. No matter the disease, Abbott always had a solution.

Abbott was truly amazing!

"Ms. Wilson."

Before Mark could continue, Abella corrected him, "Just call me Abella. Ms. Wilson is too formal."

After all, she was younger than Mark.

Years ago, during a complex surgery, Mark had witnessed Abella's skills. Her techniques had left him in awe.

Afterward, he shamelessly acknowledged Abella as his teacher. Seeing his dedication, Abella had guided him a few times.

But she never officially took him as a student.

However, in front of Abella, he felt like a student because his skills and experience were far behind hers.

"I wouldn't dare call you Abella. That feels too disrespectful." Mark glanced at the rearview mirror again and said, "My friend said that if Ms. Wilson can save his mother, any reward is not a problem."

"I'm here because of you," Abella replied.

"Thank you, Ms. Wilson." Mark was very happy. "But my friend is very wealthy. Feel free to ask for anything, don't be shy."
