Chapter 632 Make a List and Compensate Accordingly
Phillipe's stare made Gabriel nervous, but he confessed everything honestly. "Every morning, I get about a dozen, and another dozen in the afternoon. By the end of the day, it's over thirty."
After speaking, Gabriel quickly looked down, avoiding Phillipe's reaction.
Phillipe chuckled coldly. "Really, Gabriel? Who pays your salary? Think you can betray me just because Abella's got your back?"
"Every day?" Abella asked, intrigued.
"I didn't know. Even if there were, I didn't see them," Phillipe quickly said. "I'm not interested in anyone else."
"Where are they?" Abella smiled at Gabriel.
Phillipe's eyes pressured Gabriel again.
"Are you threatening him?" Abella asked, amused by Phillipe's look.
"No, just worried it might upset you," Phillipe replied, not daring to show any temper in front of Abella.
Gabriel turned and brought a pile of items. "These came in this morning. I haven't had time to get rid of them yet."
Usually, Gabriel would throw them away before Phillipe arrived at work. He remembered the early days when Phillipe took over the company and got angry about the daily gifts from admirers, saying he didn't want to see them anymore. So, Gabriel started disposing of them early each day to keep them out of sight. Over time, Phillipe forgot about it.
Abella looked at the items Gabriel brought: love letters, star jars, handmade chocolates, and heart-shaped lunch boxes. There were about a dozen.
Cecelia couldn't believe so many people dared to send gifts to Phillipe. She thought she was the first to catch his attention. She had been making lunch boxes, writing love letters, and preparing small gifts, thinking Phillipe saw and appreciated them. A week ago, at a company meeting, Phillipe criticized many department heads but praised her. She naively thought he liked her and was happy for days.
"Put them there," Abella told Gabriel, pointing to the desk.
"Abella," Phillipe said, concerned about her mood. "These were left without my consent. I didn't know about them."
Seeing Abella not looking at him, Phillipe explained, "I didn't accept them. Gabriel got rid of them before I arrived."
"So, you've been eating lunch boxes and not having meals with me?" Abella teased.
"No, I haven't touched them. Gabriel?" Phillipe looked to Gabriel for support.
Gabriel stifled a laugh. "Yes, Ms. Medici, I can confirm Mr. Bourbon hasn't touched any of the lunch boxes."
"Not only do I not touch them, I don't even know about them," Phillipe pledged. "You've been busy, and I didn't want to bother you for meals. Can I ask now? Since you're here, stay for lunch?"
Abella laughed, her smile like a refreshing spring. "Just teasing you."
Phillipe chuckled too. "Abella."
He thought, 'When did she get so playful? It's pretty charming.'
Gabriel couldn't help but marvel. 'Abella's something else. When she's serious, she's stunning. When she smiles, it's like a gentle breeze. How could Phillipe like anyone else? Other girls are just delusional, thinking they can win him over.'
Cecelia watched their sweet interaction, her heart aching. 'Why does Phillipe like her so much? He lets her roam his office, check his phone, and treasures the ordinary cup she gave him. He defends her, cares for her, and doesn't hide his love and fear for her in front of everyone.'
Phillipe turned to the security guard. "You acted without reporting to Gabriel, based on a department head's guess, and almost hurt someone innocent. Your salary will be halved this month."
The security team leader was relieved not to be fired. "Thank you, Mr. Bourbon, for your forgiveness. I'm sorry, Mrs. Bourbon. We won't make such a mistake again."
The security team leader then led everyone to apologize to Abella and left the office.
Phillipe's gaze fell on Cecelia. "You haven't apologized to my fiancée yet."
Cecelia looked at Abella, bit her lip, and said, "I'm sorry, I was rude earlier. Please forgive me."
Phillipe coldly said, "You have half an hour to pack your things and leave the Bourbon Group."
"Phillipe," Cecelia couldn't believe he would fire her and called him by his first name.
This only made Phillipe more displeased. "Gabriel, inform Mr. Jenkins that his daughter repeatedly entered my office without permission, slandered my fiancée, and used the cup my fiancée gave me to attack her, calling in security to harm her."
Phillipe added, "Tell Mr. Jenkins I'm busy and won't be seeing guests. Also, list all the damages and have Ms. Jenkins compensate for them."
"Phillipe, listen to me..." Cecelia's words were cut off as Gabriel gestured for her to leave. "Ms. Jenkins, this way, please."
"I didn't know she was your fiancée. I was just concerned about company secrets. Give me another chance, Phillipe."
"If it weren't for our families' relationship, do you think you'd still be here?" Phillipe looked at Gabriel. "Didn't you hear what I said?"
Gabriel immediately invited, "Please, Ms. Jenkins. If you don't leave now, security will escort you out."
"Also, install another camera at the office door. Inform everyone that if they send any random things again, their salary will be halved the first time, and they'll be fired the second time. Make sure everyone focuses on their work."
"Yes," Gabriel responded.
