Chapter 151 Finding My Sister

Abella didn't waste any time and took out her phone, directly dialing Lola's number and putting it on speakerphone.

This phone number was given to Abella by Lola herself, in front of their parents, during Abella's first visit to the Medici family.

Lola insisted that they save each other's numbers, saying they could go for spa treatments and have afternoon tea together in the future.

Abella didn't want to pretend to have a deep sisterly bond with Lola, but in order to avoid causing trouble for her parents, she stored the number without ever calling.

After a short while, the call was answered.

"Sister?"

Lola's sweet voice came through the other end, and this "sister" caused Sophia to be dumbfounded.

What's going on?

Why is Lola calling this little brat her sister?

Are they really relatives?

"Do you know who I am?" Abella's voice sounded somewhat displeased.

"You...aren't you Abella, my sister?" Lola was somewhat confused. She happened to be at home and in front of her parents, so she quickly put on a good facade. "Sister, weren't you supposed to participate in a competition today? Is there anything I can help with?"

Upon hearing this, Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici both asked Lola to put the call on speakerphone so that they could also assist if Abella had forgotten to bring her registration documents or ID, or if there was any urgent matter...they wanted to be of help!

Lola quickly put the call on speakerphone, wanting to show off in front of her parents.

"Let me ask you, who is Phillipe's fiancé?"

This sudden question made Lola freeze in place. What does it mean? Why is Abella calling her to ask this question out of the blue?

Something must have happened.

Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici also didn't understand why Abella suddenly asked about this before the competition.

"Hmm?" Abella uttered a simple syllable, immediately bringing Lola's thoughts back.

Though Lola didn't know what Abella's intentions were, she still showed her gentle and charming side in front of her parents.

"Of course, he is your fiancé, my brother-in-law..."

"Click..."

Abella promptly hung up, looking at Sophia with a look of someone saying, "Don't even know that I used you as a pawn!"

Sophia felt as if she had been struck by lightning and stood there, unable to believe what Lola had just said...

How could she call the girl in front of her "sister"?

And why did she say that Phillipe is her "brother-in-law"?

What is going on here?

But it was clearly Lola's voice just now...

Long Island Manor.

Lola was confused as to why Abella suddenly hung up, and when she called back, no one answered.

"Lola, what's going on? Abella's tone didn't sound very happy," Sophia asked.

"Between you and Phillipe..."

"Mom, Dad, please don't misunderstand. There is nothing going on between me and my brother-in-law."

"Lola was also confused and quickly explained, 'I don't know why my sister suddenly became in a bad mood and asked me about this. Don't worry, I will send her a message later...'"

"The competition is about to start at this time, so let's not disturb her and let her focus on the competition,' Mrs. Medici said. Although she said this, she faintly felt that something was wrong and felt it necessary to wait for Abella to come back and ask for clarification."

"Okay," Lola temporarily suppressed her anxiety, not knowing what Abella was up to.

If she knew she would ask like this, she wouldn't have sung so cheerfully!

Just then, the competition bell rang.

"Contestants one to twenty, get ready, it's time to go on stage!"

Upon hearing the staff's words, everyone in Rest Area A was ready and anxious...

A male presenter in a suit walked onto the large stage.

"Good morning, everyone! I'm delighted that you have come to participate in the annual America Fashion Design Contest."

"Over the years, this competition has selected many outstanding designers who have gone beyond America and made our culture known to more countries through fashion..."

"Today, we are honored to invite five influential figures in this industry as our judges: Liam, the president of the America Fashion Designers Association; Shirley, the fashion editor-in-chief; Emily, the president of the Women's Wear Association; Marion, the president of Clothing Times; and Steven Bass, the president of Sunrise. Let's give them a warm round of applause."

Thunderous applause could be heard from the audience.

"At the same time, there are two hundred elite members of our industry in the audience, including famous designers, seasoned fashion scholars, fashion experts, clothing experts, and so on. They will vote on-site to increase the fairness and impartiality of our competition..."

"Abella, what should I do? I'm a little nervous," Abigail stood behind the crowd, looking towards the stage, not knowing what the host had said, trembling slightly.

"You're not afraid of so many people watching the live broadcast, but you're nervous with just two hundred people in the audience?" Abella said as she continued playing her game.

"Your mental resilience is truly strong..."

She still has the luxury to play games and use her phone now!

Several designers around her turned pale with fear.

"And what if I'm nervous? Does being nervous help?" Abella nonchalantly asked.

Abigail shook her head.

"If being nervous is useless and affects performance, why not adjust your mindset and face it bravely?"

The designers around her awakened as they listened to Abella's words. It made sense...

Why does she seem so young but have such a clear mind?

"There are 120 designers participating in the competition today. Now, I will announce the rules for the first round. Every 20 designers will form a group and compete together on stage. In the end, only 30 designers and their assistants will advance to the second round of the competition."

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole venue erupted in uproar.

Even the contestants felt nervous...

120 designers!

"Finally, only thirty can advance to the next round, we eliminated three-quarters of the contestants at once!"

"That's terrifying, isn't it?"

"Even before the competition, I could feel the tense atmosphere."

"I heard that some renowned folk designers are participating in the competition today. I wonder what kind of works they will bring."

"I heard that Abigail, the designer who made the modifications on the live broadcast, is also competing today."

"Oh? Really? I love her! What number is she?"

"I have no idea..."

The host smiled and announced, "Now, let us warmly welcome the first group of contestants onto the stage with the most enthusiastic applause."

Steven Bass, sitting in the judges' seat, looked expressionless as his gaze fell on the large screen.

The first group consisted of twenty designers, each accompanied by twenty assistants. He scanned their faces, but none of them resembled Abella.

"What number is Abella?" he asked the person next to him in a low voice.

Marion, the president of Fashion Times, also looked puzzled. "Abella? I haven't heard of such a person... Mr. Bass, do you know her? Wait a moment, let me check..."

He searched through the data, but couldn't find the name Abella among the list of 120 designers.

"Let me see." Steven Bass took the data and scanned through the designer list. No sign of her. Could she be one of the assistants?

He scanned again and found her at number 16.

He lifted his gaze and instantly locked eyes with the beautiful and outstanding face on the stage.
