Chapter 1041 Getting Closer to the Truth

"One of Henry's guys made a seven-minute call to the VP of the film company four days ago. That same night, the VP called Winifred. I don't know what they talked about, but after that call, Winifred had someone mess with the car."

Kimberly was floored. "Are you saying Henry set this up because of that traitor Lola? He wanted to get back at us by framing the Medici family?"

"But Henry's not like that," Abella said calmly, clearly trusting Henry's character. "He likes Lola, but he wouldn't mix up right and wrong. I think his guy was bribed."

"You mean someone paid off Henry's guy to make Henry take the blame?" Beckett was shocked. "Who could have the power to frame Henry like this? Why would Henry accept such baseless accusations?"

"Who could it be? Is it an enemy Henry, and we share?" Kimberly speculated. "Who could it be?"

"Maybe it's Lola's enemy," Abella suggested. "Right now, Henry is Lola's biggest support. If something happens to Henry, it's like clipping Lola's wings."

"What do you mean?" Beckett was confused. "Who could Lola have crossed that has the power to bring down Henry? And why would they want to bring Lola down?"

"Maybe it's not Lola's enemy, but her biological parents' enemy," Abella reminded them. "Don't forget, her biological parents were minor leaders in the organization. Who's the big boss of that organization? Could it be the person behind the fire?"

Beckett and Kimberly exchanged a shocked look. It was very possible!

"Henry told us before that Jacob gave Lola a phone before he died. That phone might contain secrets about the mastermind. Even if the mastermind doesn't know about the phone, Lola is Jacob's only daughter. With Maria dead, the mastermind wouldn't let Lola grow strong enough to seek revenge. They might let her live, but not thrive."

Abella continued, "Now that she has Henry's support, and Henry is powerful, it's logical for the mastermind to want to remove that support. If Henry takes the fall, it means the mastermind has something on him. This mastermind must have had dealings with Henry."

Beckett and Kimberly nodded, agreeing with Abella's analysis.

"To the outside world, it might look like Henry is framing the Medici family for Lola, but I don't think he would," Abella said, having met Henry a few times and knowing he was principled, though blinded by his feelings for Lola.

"So who is this mastermind?" Kimberly was baffled by the complexity. "It's not Winifred, not the film company people, not Henry. Who else wants to harm us?"

"If Henry's guy was bribed, we just need to check who he contacted before calling the VP and if he got a big chunk of money. That could give us some new leads."

Abella paused, then continued, "Also, Jacob and Maria were minor leaders. If the mastermind is the big boss, they would have some dirty money needing laundering through the film company. We just need to check who has connections with the film company."

"Abella, you're a genius!" Kimberly couldn't help but praise. "Thank goodness for you. It looks like we're close to the truth."

"This mastermind is pretty slick," Beckett noted. "Instead of using his own guys to mess with the car, he went through all this trouble to make us suspect Henry."

"Actually, this indirectly proves our investigation is on the right track," Abella analyzed. "If the film company were clean, he would have used them as scapegoats. Why push Henry into the spotlight? He's afraid we'll trace things back to him through the film company. So, this person must have collaborated with the film company!"

Beckett and Kimberly looked at Abella with admiration. "Abella, you're amazing! What seemed complicated is now clear thanks to you. We're getting closer to the truth."

Abella nodded. "Also, last time I worked with the injured person's family. The injured person pretended to die under my care, and the family cried outside the operating room. Someone filmed it and posted it online. I found out it was another of Henry's men, Zander Martinez. It seems the mastermind really wants to frame Henry."

"This mastermind is a real piece of work," Kimberly said angrily. "I wish I could drag him out and give him a good beating."

"I have a feeling he'll show up soon," Abella said, standing up to continue her investigation.

"Abella, are you coming home for dinner tonight? Do you need any help? We have some people you can use."

"No need," Abella replied, a slight smile on her lips. "I have my own team."

Her team was well-coordinated and efficient.

"Be safe!" Kimberly called after her. Turning to Beckett, she said, "Abella has really grown up. She can handle everything on her own now. We seem redundant."

"Being protected by our daughter feels wonderful," Beckett said, touched.

This was the happiness Lola had never given them.

Meanwhile, a trending topic quietly climbed to the top.

#Abella Is Worthy Of The Title 'Medical Authority'# exploded online. Curious gossip lovers clicked to see Abella guiding a doctor to save a patient without performing the surgery herself, yet the patient survived.

"If she didn't have real skills, how could she know so many professional steps and terms? How could she stay so calm?"
