Chapter 481 Gaining Trust

If her daughter was poisoned, how could she appear so relaxed and at ease?

Listening to Abella , the process of using poison against poison was very painful.

Why was her daughter able to smile so beautifully and gently after taking the poisonous powder?

Abella's eyes deepened a bit. "Last summer, Nicole and Winston were still dating."

"Abella also mentioned that a group of people were looking for Nicole everywhere," Diana mentioned it to her husband again.

Nicole's father was somewhat skeptical, looking at the girl in front of him. "How do you know?"

Abella did not hide anything, revealing everything she had heard from the neighbors and her breaking into their house.

The couple were initially a bit angry because Abella barged into their home without notice.

But upon hearing Abella say that their house was filled with so many cameras and bugs, and that group of people swiftly came after the girl removed these things, they were shocked and secretly relieved that Nicole didn't return, or else she would have fallen into the hands of those bad people.

"Abella, were you hurt at that time?" Diana asked again.

If Abella had been injured because of this, the couple would have felt guilty.

"No," Abella replied truthfully, "but those people said Nicole was a traitor, so I guess did she want to continue being with Winston, not wanting to bring danger to you as parents, wanting to break away from the organization completely, so she was forced to take the poison, suffering when the toxicity flared up, so she had to use another strong poison, fighting poison with poison? To save her life?"

Hearing Abella's analysis, Winston suddenly remembered. "Last summer, I gradually lost contact with Nicole; whenever I asked her, she always said she was busy, and I didn't pay much attention. Sometimes, when I finally managed to make plans with her while eating out, she would go to the restroom for a long time, and when she came out, her face was a bit pale."

"What did she say at that time?" Abella asked again.

"She said she had a stomachache or told me she was on her period; the reasons were always different each time. Sometimes, when we were out shopping, as we strolled around, she would say she wasn't feeling well and didn't want to continue shopping."
Winston was suddenly reminded of these occurrences and incredulously inquired, "Could it be that at that moment, her toxicity had already taken hold, nearing the brink of endurance...?"
Abella nodded as he spoke. "She might have carried a bottle of vitamin C with her, and during the toxic reaction, she hid in the bathroom to take it, trying to fight poison with poison, but the process was very painful, so she couldn't bear it and suggested to you to go home and rest."

Winston clenched his fists, hating himself for not realizing these two possibilities!

How could he be so foolish as not to realize that Nicole was hiding something from him?

Nicole's parents, however, shook their heads continuously upon hearing this.

"No, it's impossible. Nicole has never been associated with any shady individuals since she was young, let alone join any organization!"

Nicole's father believed that Nicole was not foolish; if an organization was dangerous, how could Nicolepossibly get involved?

"I know Nicole's character; even if that organization offered her many benefits, she wouldn't join." Father Nicole assured.

Abella asked casually, "Since childhood? Wasn't Nicole raised in an orphanage?"

They were stunned upon hearing this; yes, Nicole was brought from an orphanage.

But Nicole was only a few years old at that time!

"Your assumption is not valid," Nicole's father waved his hand, repeatedly denying. When we brought Nicole, she was so young, a bit timid when she first arrived at our home."

"Yes, I remember when she first came home. Whatever we asked her opinion on, she would agree. She was very obedient and not picky about anything."

"I think the orphanage is a bit suspicious," Abella's intuition told her, "Is there a possibility that all the children in the orphanage are not ordinary?"

This speculation shocked the couple and even Winston; they were all stunned.

But Abella had been right with every guess she made since investigating this matter, so Winston took out his phone. "I'll have someone look into it."

"Let my people handle it."

Abella felt that Winston's people might alert the enemy, but her people were different; they were specially trained.

Winston stopped, looking at Abella, and said with great trust, "Okay."

Abella took out her phone and sent a message to Sam, who was very startled.

Ever since knowing that Abella was taking a risky trip to Florida and then discovering that Phillipe had given her great trust by not accompanying her personally, Sam was extremely disappointed in Phillipe, yet also extremely worried, feeling that Abella might be in trouble. Hence, he had to make a secret trip.

When he heard the phone notification, he took it out and saw that the message was from Abella; his face turned pale with fear.

Tony was puzzled. "What's wrong with you? Are you sick?"

"Ms. Abella sent a message! She said she needed me for something! Oh no! Does Ms. Abella know we're here? Is she going to punish us?"

"Really?" Tony was quite scared. "Can I still buy a plane ticket back  now?"

"Aren't you concerned about Ms. Abella's safety?"

"You are still here. I'm more worried about whether Ms. Abella will break my neck."

"So you're willing to let Ms. Abella break my neck alone?" Sam grabbed him. "Don't go! If I'm punished, we'll be punished together!"

"Don't let go of me; I haven't even fallen in love in my life, haven't experienced the beauty of life."

Sam's phone vibrated again, this time with a question mark from Abella.

He was at his wits' end, but he summoned great courage to check and found that Abella wanted him to investigate a domestic orphanage!

He couldn't believe it. Did Abella not realize that they were here?

Why was she suddenly interested in investigating an orphanage?

Sam: [Rest assured, Ms. Abella, I promise to complete the task!]

Abella saw the loving pictures Sam sent her on her phone, resisted the urge to block him, put away her phone, and looked at Nicole's parents again.

"We'll have results in a couple of days."

They couldn't believe it; who was this girl, and could she promise results just two days after saying she would investigate an orphanage?

After all, they had spent two to three months just looking for Nicole and still had no news.

"When will we find Nicole?" Diana seemed very worried as if her daughter was in a dangerous situation.
