Chapter 607 Releasing Balloons

Vanessa laughed heartily; it had been ages since the whole family had a meal together.

Everyone was focused on Abella, chatting away.

Lola felt left out; everyone was talking to Abella, barely noticing her.

She kept telling herself, "Uncle James and Grandma just reunited with Abella. They're curious and want to know more about her."

But then she thought, "My parents and Blake have been with Abella for so long, yet they still ignore me, their daughter of eighteen years. It's too much."

"Lola, you should join the conversation too," James noticed Lola had been quiet and said.

"Thank you, Uncle James."

After dinner, Abella pushed Vanessa to the garden for a walk. Lola gathered her courage and stepped forward. "Abella, let me do it?"

Since Vanessa woke up, Abella had been taking care of her.

Lola wanted to get close to Vanessa, fearing that with a biological granddaughter, Vanessa would distance herself from her.

But Vanessa kindly said, "Let Abella accompany me a bit longer. You go take a nap."

"Grandma, I'm not sleepy. I was waiting outside all morning. When I heard you woke up, I rushed in. I also want to be with you," Lola said.

"I have something to say to Abella."

Lola awkwardly said, "Then if Abella gets tired, call me. I'll take care of Grandma."

"Okay," Abella agreed.

Lola left the garden feeling down. At lunch, Vanessa had talked so much with Abella, and it still wasn't enough; they had to keep talking.

What could they possibly have so much to talk about?

It must be because of the robot incident. Vanessa thought she was cowardly and found Abella, her biological granddaughter, more reliable.

She hated herself for not being braver and quicker back then.

Otherwise, Abella wouldn't have stolen the spotlight!

Lola thought, "No, I have to find a way to get Grandma's attention back."

At that moment, she received a message.

Henry: [What are you doing?]

Lola initially didn't want to respond, but thinking about it, besides Maria, she had no one else to talk to about her grievances.

So she replied with an unhappy emoji.

Henry called her, wanting to ask what happened. No one answered, so he sent her another message.

Henry: [What's wrong?]

Henry: [Who upset you?]

Henry: [Feeling down?]

After a while, Lola didn't reply, and Henry called her again.

No one answered. Henry stared at his phone, worried.

"Henry, how many times have I called you? I've almost knocked the door down. What are you doing?" A wealthy gentleman barged into the presidential suite, finding Henry just sitting on the couch, glued to his phone.

"You didn't even open the door for me? Forget it, it's Christmas. Let's go out and have some fun."

"Can having fun really make someone happy?" Henry mused, getting an idea.

"Of course, it's better than sitting here like a log."

"Then I'm leaving." Henry grabbed his coat and brushed past him.

"Hey, wait, where are you going?" The gentleman reacted. "On a day like this, she won't spend it with you. You might as well come with us."

Henry stepped into the elevator. The gentleman tried to follow but stopped at Henry's warning look.

"You're not really going to find her, are you? I'm telling you..." The elevator doors closed before he could finish.

Lola stood on the bedroom balcony, watching Abella push Vanessa around the garden.

She wanted to get close to Vanessa too.

Her phone lit up repeatedly. She saw 4 missed calls and 7 unread messages.

Henry: [Lola, want to go out and have some fun?]

Henry: [Or do you want to go shopping?]

Henry: [Whatever you want to do, I'll join you.]

Henry: [Don't be unhappy.]

Lola sneered. She had said she was unhappy, and in half an hour, Henry only called 4 times and sent 7 messages. Clearly, he didn't care!

She continued to ignore him. After a while, she saw many smiley face balloons released into the sky.

Each balloon had a big smiley face. It was quite a spectacle.

Surprised, she looked at her phone again. It was a surprise from Henry.

Henry: [Lola, did you see the balloons?]

Henry: [Feeling better?]

Henry: [I hope you smile as brightly as these smiley faces every day. You look best when you smile.]

Henry: [Don't be unhappy.]

Henry: [No matter what happens, if you don't want to tell me, I'll stay with you. If you want my help, I'll definitely help you to the end.]

The usually reserved Henry even sent a rare hug emoji.

Lola finally felt a bit better.

Lola: [Not bad, you do know how to be romantic.]

Henry: [You like it? I'll do it again next time.]
