Chapter 578 Family Members Not Recognizing Each Other
"I heard from Mark you like coffee. How about a few cups before you go?" James asked.
Abella saw he was sincere and finally said, "Alright."
James smiled and led her to the garden, where the best coffee and snacks were served.
Mark stayed close, thanking Abella for her medical help.
Just then, the villa's main gate opened, and eight servants ran to greet the guests.
Abella saw a black sedan outside. The driver opened the door, and a man and a woman stepped out.
"It's my sister and her husband," James said.
James had sent someone to pick up Kimberly and Beckett from the hotel, and they had finally arrived.
If Kimberly and Beckett knew Vanessa's illness could be treated, they'd be thrilled!
James smiled, teasing, "You'll be very surprised when you see my sister."
They looked so much alike.
"I'll go greet them first, wait a moment." James stood up, straightened his suit, and walked to the gate.
Mark also stood up. "Ms. Medici, I'll go say hello and be right back."
"Okay, go ahead." Abella nodded and took out her phone to reply to Phillipe's message.
Kimberly, led by the servants, walked into the villa and saw a girl in the garden on her phone.
She couldn't see the girl's face but felt happy and asked the servant, "Is that James' girlfriend? Whose daughter is she?"
The servant wasn't sure. "She came with Dr. Long this morning. She's said to be his teacher."
"She looks young to be a teacher," Beckett laughed. "Now we don't have to worry about James' love life."
James finally brought his girlfriend home!
"Remember when we had five sons to rush into marriage, and now there's a younger brother abroad to rush into marriage. Now I can finally relax." Kimberly smiled. "Mark's teacher must be in the medical field. Medical girls are great, like Abella."
"Kimberly, Beckett." James hugged Kimberly, then Beckett. They seemed close.
Mark also greeted them.
"Mark, you've worked hard," Kimberly said, then whispered to James, "Quick, tell me, who is that girl over there? Is she the one you mentioned?"
James guessed Kimberly's misunderstanding but smiled. "Kimberly, just come with me and see for yourself."
When Kimberly saw how much the girl looked like her, she'd be very surprised!
He'd tell Kimberly later that Vanessa's illness could be treated because this girl was a Medical Authority. Kimberly's reaction would be priceless.
"Take me to see." Kimberly wanted to meet the girl as a family elder, but the closer she got, the more familiar the girl seemed.
At that moment, Abella got a call and stood up to answer it.
Beckett saw her back and said, "She looks a lot like Abella."
"You think so too?" Kimberly was surprised. "Her style is just like Abella's."
"Who's Abella?" James was confused.
Abella finished her call and turned around. Kimberly and Beckett's eyes widened in disbelief.
James saw their expressions and was about to introduce them when Kimberly exclaimed, "Abella, what are you doing here?"
"Mom?" Abella was equally surprised and looked at Beckett. "Dad? What are you doing here?"
"What did you just call them?" James was stunned. When did Kimberly and Beckett have another daughter?
Even Mark was wide-eyed.
"Mark asked me to help his friend's mother. I was nearby, so I came," Abella explained, then looked at her parents. "What about you?"
"Are you talking about his mother?" Kimberly pointed to James.
Abella nodded, confused.
"He's your Uncle James! His mother is my mother, your grandmother!" Kimberly said excitedly.
Both Abella and James were shocked.
James was stunned. "When did Kimberly have another daughter? And she's already grown up? What's going on?"
"Truly, a family not recognizing each other," Beckett said, "Let's sit down and talk."
Kimberly explained the hospital fire years ago, how Abella was taken by the Wilson family, and that Lola wasn't their biological daughter.
James was shocked and finally understood why he felt a strange familiarity with Abella.
Subconsciously, he always felt there was some connection between Abella and Kimberly, even wanting to investigate her.
"Because you were busy and abroad, and Mom's illness put a lot of pressure on you, I was afraid telling you might worsen her condition," Kimberly explained. She kept it a secret until Vanessa's condition improved.
When Abella was found, Kimberly didn't want to announce it immediately. She feared too many visitors would disturb Abella and wanted more time with her. Also, their elders' health was fragile, and she didn't want to shock them.
"How did you and Abella meet? Was it through Mark?" Kimberly asked James.
James said, "I saw her in a restaurant and thought she looked like you. Then I saw her again on the cruise last night. She saved me and helped detoxify me."
Kimberly's heart raced. "You were chased last night? Who did it? On your turf?"
"Luckily, I met Abella. She helped me figure out the timing of the drugging, so I quickly found the traitor," James added.
Abella realized last night's incident was caused by a traitor. She thanked him, "Uncle James also helped Clare and me out of a tight spot and gave me the precious medicinal herb Piercing of Heart."
