Chapter 364 Sister-in-law, You've Got It All Wrong
Abella didn't waste any time. The knife pressed closer, and the short-haired girl's fair neck bled.
"You... you actually did it..." It was the short-haired girl’s turn to be shocked.
She hadn't expected such ferocity from someone so young.
"Last chance before I leave you bleeding out for the sharks," Abella threatened.
The fury in the short-haired girl's eyes blazed brighter. "Does Ethan even know what kind of person you are?"
Abella was taken aback.
Was she here for Ethan?
Seeing Abella's momentary hesitation, the short-haired girl swiftly broke free, reaching for the knife to exact revenge.
But Abella was not to be underestimated. They clashed with equal ferocity, neither giving ground...
The short-haired girl had never encountered a woman her own age with such agility. She thought, “She’s certainly not some average college girl.”
Who was she really?
Some secret government trainee?
Or something else?
Abella aimed a kick at the short-haired girl’s chest, but it was blocked, forcing her to stagger back a meter.
"Noticing that blood," Abella said coldly, her lips curling into a smirk, "you might want to take care of your wound. You’ve got less than an hour to spill the truth. I advise you to talk, and I’ll make your death easier."
"So full of yourself." The short-haired girl attacked again. Every move was so lethal, as if it were meant to kill Abella.
The more they fought, the more familiar Abella's moves seemed to the short-haired girl until a swift spinning kick made it all click.
Caught off-guard and wounded, the short-haired girl fell to the ground.
"Are you from The Triangle?" The short-haired girl gasped, eyeing the girl before her, "The Boss of The A Gang... is a girl?!"
Surprise flickered in Abella's eyes. She thought, “This girl guessed my identity?”
Now, Abella really couldn't let her live.
Before Abella could act, Ethan's voice suddenly sounded.
"Abella, what’s going on?"
She turned to see Ethan and Phillipe approaching.
The short-haired girl saw her chance to escape but stopped at the sound of Ethan's voice.
"Camila? What are you doing here?"
Camila?
Ethan knew her?
And from the sounds of it, he knew her quite well.
"What happened to your neck?" Ethan noticed a small, superficial cut on Camila's neck. The blood trickling down was a jarring sight, though the wound itself didn't look too severe.
He glanced at Abella, his eyes reflecting a mix of emotions.
Getting close to Camila was usually very difficult, let alone leaving a mark on her neck...
How did Abella manage to do it?
How could she injure Camila?
"So, you took some time off from the agency to bring your girlfriend home to meet your folks?" To his surprise, Camila took the offensive, her tone accusatory.
Abella, smelling drama, decided to sit back and watch the unfold.
"What are you talking about? Let's get you inside and take care of that cut."
Though such minor injuries were common for agents, a wound on the neck was still risky if left untreated.
"You don't want a relationship, or you just don't want one with me!" Camila's eyes suddenly showed a hint of humiliation and anger.
"Camila..."
"You say you're not interested in dating, yet you bring her home! You like her!"
Camila gave Abella a wounded glance. What was so great about this brat, aside from her obnoxious confidence?
Did Ethan even know that she was the Boss of The A Gang?
How could this little brat possibly capture Ethan's heart?
“The handsome golden boy of the agency winds up with this kid in the end.” Camila thought.
The very thought made her seethe.
Today, she'd seen Ethan showering that girl with gifts, truckloads of them!
Ethan even opened the car door for her and tenderly stroked her hair...
Such intimate gestures and all she could do was look on with envy.
Even Lola had rushed over from school just to meet the "new sister-in-law."...
Their family was so full of joy, while she...
"Are you talking about Abella?" Ethan finally caught on, his reaction laced with exasperation and amusement at the grand misunderstanding.
Abella!
He called her by her first name!
That was outrageous!
"What do you even like about her?" Camila's voice trembled.
If not for that little brat snickering at her, Camila might have already burst into tears.
"Let's go inside and treat that cut first." Ethan felt the conversation could go on forever, but right now, the priority was the wound.
"You keep saying we are not a good match due to different statuses and ages, but what about her? She can be with you because she's just a..."
Anticipating Camila's next words, Abella quickly interrupted, "You've got it all wrong, sister-in-law."
Sister-in-law??
"He's my second brother," Abella cleared up swiftly and then tugged at the man beside her, "This is Phillipe, my fiancé."
"Pleasure to meet you," Phillipe greeted her politely.
Camila was utterly flabbergasted, and her gaze fixed, settling once again on Ethan standing before her.
Ethan explained with a hint of helplessness, "Yeah, she's really my sister... my biological sister. We only recently reconnected."
Camila was internally torn apart. She thought, “His sister??”
"She's still young, and because of some family matters, we haven't gone public with it yet."
So, had she just brawled with Ethan's actual sister, and had his sister threatened her?
"Come inside with me," Ethan said, fearing she might resist, and took her hand to lead her into the Medici family mansion.
Camila couldn't grasp how she managed to step through the Medici family's doorway, nor how she ended up being treated for her wounds under the watchful eyes of a gathered crowd...
She'd fantasized countless times about going to Ethan's house to meet his parents, but she could have never imagined her debut would be in such a gruesome scenario...
"Honey, does it hurt a lot? How did you get injured like this?" Mrs. Medici couldn't help but express her concern.
"Do you need a doctor to take a look?" Mr. Medici chimed in, and then it dawned on him, "Oh right, Abella! Our Abella is quite skilled! You go take a look at Ethan's girlfriend!"
At the mention of "girlfriend," Ethan's hand twitched, causing Camila to sharply inhale from the pain.
"Clumsy, don't hurt her! Let your sister handle it!" Mrs. Medici urged with worry.
"Ethan, let me do it," Abella said, taking the cotton swab. Her movements were practiced as she disinfected the wound and then swiftly bandaged it. "There, all done. Now, be careful not to get it wet."
Abella couldn't help feeling she'd been a little too rough, realizing this woman was potentially her future sister-in-law.
Camila sat on the living room sofa, surrounded by the Medici family members' scrutinizing eyes. She tried to fight back tears...
She never expected her first impression to be this embarrassing, this mortifying...
"Darling, you haven't told us your name yet. And how long have you and our second son been seeing each other?" Mrs. Medici couldn't contain her delight, thrilled that one of her five sons finally had a girlfriend!
