Chapter 331 A Kiss from the movies
Joanna, walking ahead, suddenly realized that Abella wasn't keeping up and turned back to see Phillipe, the man reputed to be cold and heartless, cradling Abella's face. Was he being endearing?
To think that such a lofty man would bend down and spoil a girl like this...
Wasn’t this the kind of love you'd only find in fairy tales? Joanna wondered.
Considering everything she had been through, her eyes suddenly dimmed...
Phillipe caressed Abella's soft and delicate cheeks for quite a while before he finally let go and took her hand, walking towards the dormitory.
It was said that Principal Wilson, in order to deceive onlookers, had built a brand-new dorm building specifically to make the little lady more comfortable...
Lifting her eyelids, Abella asked. "You haven't told me what brought you here today."
Phillipe's gaze settled on her. "Didn't your father say he wanted to buy that piece of land in University Town and build a commercial complex for you to enjoy?"
Abella recalled that this was indeed the case. "Didn't I refuse?"
"Yes, so I bought the land instead, and came to have a look today." He answered as casually as ever.
"..." Abella had not expected that the money from her family would still be squandered in such a fashion, and this time not by her father, but by her fiancé...
"The construction crew I hired is very efficient, it won't take more than a year to complete. Soon, everything you want to eat, browse, and play with will be available there."
Abella's lips curled into a smile. "Aren't you afraid that there will be so many things to attract me, I might forget about you in a blink of an eye?" she teased.
"Then I'll just show up before you like today until you remember me," Phillipe said, his eyes filled with affection.
Abella found this amusing. "How childish." She said.
"Do you prefer the childish me or the mature me?" Phillipe asked cautiously.
Abella countered. "Have you ever been mature in front of me?"
At that moment, the secretary couldn't help intervening, "Miss Abella, you don't understand, a man only acts like a child in front of the person he loves the most... This means that you're Mr. Bourbon's most loved one… so you’ve never seen his mature side..."
"Shut up!" Phillipe said, a touch of annoyance in his voice.
Whose side do you take? You’re ruining the moment. Phillipe thought without saying a word.
"..." The secretary didn't expect that, despite the good intentions he had, Mr. Bourbon would take it amiss, and felt a bit wronged.
Abella, with her interest now piqued, asked Phillipe, "Most loved one?"
"Can't you feel it?" Phillipe suddenly leaned closer. "It seems we’ve been apart too long that you've forgotten your place in my heart..."
"We are in a school right now." Abella said.
The next second, Phillipe pulled down his mask and gently left a kiss on her forehead.
The secretary quickly glanced around; fortunately, the path they had taken was deserted. Otherwise, if people saw them, Abella would be disturbed by unwanted attention again...
Josie looked back just in time to see Phillipe gracefully bowing down and kissing Abella's forehead. The adoration and tenderness in his eyes seemed reserved for Abella alone...
"Oh my..." she could hardly stay calm. "They are so sweet."
It's like they're in a movie!! The surrounding scenery has become part of the movie settings...
They're so stunning together, just like the protagonists in a movie. If only that secretary weren't there, it would be even more convincing... Josie thought to herself.
"You'll get used to it." Clare pulled them along to continue walking forward. It was indeed rare for Phillipe to hold back for so many days, not easy at all.
Phillipe put his mask back on, revealing those beautiful eyes, and holding Abella's hand as they walked forward.
"There are quite a few who fancy your unruly hair. Seen anyone you like?" Phillipe asked.
Abella teased, "There are a few indeed..."
"A few??" Phillipe asked jealously. "Who are they? Tell me."
He promised up and down not to get physical, just to have them expelled and sent packing today.
Abella anticipated this reaction and added with a laugh, "A few are rather bothersome, the rest are okay."
"The rest are okay... What does that mean? They look alright. They're decent people? Boyfriend material?" he asked the concern evident in his voice.
Abella, unable to help herself from laughing, assured him, "Don't worry, I'm not interested in them."
"If you dare fall for someone else... I will break their legs. Just tell me who to target."
"You're quite violent." Abella laughed.
"I can also be very gentle, as long as you stay by my side for life... don't you dare stray, got it?" Phillipe persuaded.
"What if you're the one who falls for someone else?" Abella countered.
"I'm not that kind of person. One, you alone, occupy all my daydreams and desires, where would I find the space for others?"
Phillipe held her hand tightly, his tone dripping with indulgence, "Try to come over to my place more often, will you?"
"We'll see." Abella tried to be indifferent.
"I'll take that as a yes." Phillipe said directly.
Reaching the southern wing of the building, Phillipe stopped and said, "I'll wait for you here."
"Okay."
Abella ascended the steps of the dormitory building in South One, with the three girls ahead waiting for her.
As Abella approached, Josie whispered softly, "Abella, your fiancé is so good to you, escorting you all the way to the dormitory."
"He's still standing there. Look quickly; more girls are trying to approach him! Your fiancé attracts people with just his eyes alone!" Joanna hurriedly motioned for Abella to look back.
Abella glanced back to see the secretary fending off three or four girls trying to approach, while Phillipe's gaze remained fixed on her.
"Your fiancé is so devoted, so passionate..." Joanna never thought there were such men in the world, willing to put their pride aside to love a girl...
In his eyes, there was room for her and her alone.
Meanwhile, Clare teased Abella with a raised eyebrow, "Is your man getting moody?"
"Hmm." Abella confirmed.
"I knew it! You used to be with him every day. Now that you're busy with military training, he must be feeling out of sorts..." Clare laughed.
"Every day???" Neither Joanna nor Josie had realized the depth of their relationship.
Clare stepped into the elevator, pressed for the top floor, and spoke nonchalantly.
"Phillipe seeks her out every day, in the morning, at noon, in the afternoon... Sometimes, just to see her one more time, he even goes to chat with her parents at her home... Can you imagine the look of his normally icy face trying to make conversation with elders?"
It just goes to show how much he loves Abella, that he wants to be near her like this. Both Joanna and Josie were utterly surprised; they had never heard of such a devoted fiancé...
"I'll stay with him tonight, so no need to leave the door unlocked for me." Abella said.
Hearing Abella say this, Josie couldn’t believe it. "You, you mean...?"
"Relax, they're very innocent, nothing has happened."
At Clare's words, Joanna and Josie were shocked again. They seemed inseparable, yet nothing had happened...
You could say Phillipe has impressive self-control...
"But what if the dorm manager locks the door..." Josie was worried about the dorm manager finding out, fearing that Abella might be reprimanded.
"Don't worry, I've got it covered," Clare said confidently, patting her chest. She added reassuringly, "The dorm manager is easy to talk to, much more so than Abella’s man..."
