Chapter 522 Facing It Together

Sam led his crew down the spiral staircase and immediately spotted a couple making out.

His heart shattered on the spot.

It felt like the world was out to get single folks, with couples flaunting their love everywhere.

Just as Sam was about to say something, Tony clamped a hand over his mouth and steered him down another path.

Winston deepened the kiss, pouring out all his unspoken words and over a year of longing.

The kiss was like a storm, leaving Nicole breathless until Winston finally pulled back.

His dreamy eyes still held a lingering affection. His handsome face looked even more appealing, though he seemed thinner, making his face appear smaller. It wasn't clear if it was due to his injuries or his worries about her, but overall, he looked a bit haggard.

Looking at his injuries, Nicole said sadly, "Why are you so foolish? I told you I fell for someone else, so why don't you let go?"

"I only want you," Winston said, looking into her eyes, his own eyes reddening. "Promise me, you won't leave me again."

"But..." Nicole's eyes dimmed as she said dejectedly, "You saw those data packets, didn't you?"

"I know," Winston said firmly, looking into her eyes. "I know what kind of danger lies ahead, and I know your identity. I don't care, and I'm not afraid. As long as you're by my side, I'll face anything."

Nicole was puzzled and said, "With your conditions, you could easily find someone better."

"You're the best," Winston said tenderly, cupping her face. "I know what kind of person I'm looking for. You're the most suitable, the one I like the most. I'm not interested in anyone else but you."

After finishing speaking, he lowered his head and kissed her again, savoring her sweetness bit by bit.

Nicole finally spoke after being kissed for a while, "You're so silly."

Clearly, he was a top hacker and the heir of the Medici family, yet he wanted her, the next in line in a notorious organization with no family.

Their worlds were clearly darkness and illumination, completely unsuitable for each other.

"The foolish one is you. In the seventh month of our relationship, your poison started acting up, but you didn't let me know. I was so stupid; I noticed something was wrong with you but didn't think deeply about it."

Back then, during their dates, he had often noticed Nicole looking pale after coming out of the restroom, but he hadn't thought much of it and believed her when she said she was discomfort with her period.

"That's because you trusted me. Every word I said, even if it was a lie, you wouldn't doubt it."

Winston looked into her eyes again and moved closer to kiss her. "It was my lack of attention. From now on, I'll be more observant of your changes. I won't let you bear these hardships alone anymore."

"Winston, I don't want to drag you down," Nicole said honestly, "This matter is far-reaching and beyond what we can handle... Besides, I don't want to implicate those around you, like Abella."

Speaking of Abella, Nicole felt extremely guilty.

"At first, I mistook her for an undercover agent from the organization and attacked her... Later, when those drugged men came, I told her to leave, but she insisted on taking me with her... Several times, she got hurt by those men while helping me. With her skills, she could have escaped, but she still chose to carry me, a burden."

Nicole's eyes filled with tears. "She was so badly hurt, yet she still carried me back... I can't repay that kind of kindness."

They had never met before, and it was only because of Winston that they had any connection at all.

"Then be my wife and treat her well for the rest of your life," Winston said softly, stroking Nicole's face. "Abella likes you too. She's tough on the outside but warm on the inside. She doesn't talk much, but she genuinely cares about you."

Winston paused and then continued, "Once you get to know her, you'll see she's really great, with a lot of good qualities and easy to get along with."

"I've never heard you praise Lola like this," Nicole noted. It was clear Winston thought highly of Abella.

"They're different," Winston said gently. "Abella and Phillipe are committed to seeing this through. So let's face it together as a family. No matter what, I won't let go of your hand this time."

Nicole was moved as she looked at him. "Abella said there's a seventy to eighty percent chance my poison can be cured."

"She told Raymond the same thing. What she says, she will do," Winston said confidently. "There's no poison she can't cure; after all, she's the legendary Dr. Abbott."

Nicole's eyes widened in surprise. "She's Abbott?"

'Dr. Abbott? The legendary, elusive Dr. Abbott?' she thought.

"Yes," Winston confirmed.

Nicole was completely stunned. She hadn't expected that the Abbott she and Raymond had been searching for all this time wasn't an old man but a seventeen or eighteen-year-old, beautiful girl.

"So if she says there's hope, there definitely is," Winston said, confident in Abella's medical skills.

Nicole hadn't expected such good luck, not only reuniting with Winston but also accidentally finding Abbott to detoxify her.

It seemed her fate with Winston wasn't over... it was still very deep.

"Abella said the poison in your body is tricky, but not incurable. She needs to draw some blood for research. When she does, I'll ask her to be gentle."

Nicole smiled and said, "Drawing blood is like a mosquito bite to me; it doesn't hurt."

Having been through so much, why would she fear a little needle?

"Still, she should be gentle," Winston said, gently rubbing her hand. "We need to be mentally prepared; this poison will take some time to cure."

"We've endured a year; a few more months won't matter... I'll tell Abella to treat me boldly... I trust her."

Winston looked at her indulgently. "Then let me take you upstairs to change into clean clothes. We have a flight back home soon."

The words "back home" suddenly reminded Nicole of her brother—Raymond!

'Oh no!'

She had thought she wouldn't survive this time, so she had asked Raymond to take some photos of Winston, wanting to see him one last time before she died.

"I need to make a call," Nicole said, reaching for her phone.

"Want to call Raymond?" Winston asked, smiling gently. "Abella has already explained everything to him. He's waiting for us back home and will join us tomorrow."

Nicole was surprised and her face turned red.

'Doesn't that mean Winston has known my dying wish is to see him one last time?' she thought.
