Chapter 1043 Lola Get Off This Planet
"We just wanted her to be a bit nicer to Abella, but she was so full of herself. She even threatened to release the footage of us taking her to the stairwell. Honestly, in the stairwell, my friends and I didn't touch her. We were just trying to talk to her nicely, hoping she'd remember the eighteen years of care the Medici family gave her and be kinder to Abella. But she..."
Elsa spoke with an air of innocence and pity. "She twisted everything, made herself look like the victim, and even called for medical help. My friends and I watched the footage online and were speechless. She's so manipulative, playing everyone like fools and steering public opinion to her side."
Elsa sighed, sounding resigned. "As for why I didn't come forward to clear things up earlier, it's because we didn't want to give her any more attention."
Meanwhile, Lola was fuming as she saw the trending topics: #Abella Confirmed Medical Authority.#
#Elsa Did Not Hit Anyone.#
#Lola Get Off This Planet.#
She couldn't believe Abella and Elsa managed to turn things around!
And she was even more shocked that Bonnie had released three videos that were detrimental to her.
Bonnie was currently being interviewed by the media, looking as stunning and composed as ever.
"To avoid dirtying the eyes of those who enjoy gossip, I only released a small portion of the footage. Lola's actions go far beyond what you've seen; it's just the tip of the iceberg."
This statement not only pushed Lola into the abyss but also stomped on her a few times.
Lola was shaking with anger, cursing in her head. 'That damned woman! This is my home turf, not hers! How dare she do this?'
"And I know Lola is watching this live stream. I want to tell her to stop with her petty schemes and live her life properly. Don't mess around behind people's backs. I have evidence of everything you've done to Abella. I just don't want to waste public resources anymore. I hope you can turn over a new leaf."
These words made Lola grit her teeth in fury.
Meanwhile, Henry saw the trending topics and called his subordinate, Parker Wilson. "Did you make a seven-minute call to the vice president of the film company four days ago?"
He had just learned that after Parker's call, the film company's vice president called Winifred, the head of a clothing company. The next day, Winifred had someone tamper with the prize car.
"Mr. Hall," Parker's voice on the phone sounded fearful and remorseful, "I was forced into it."
"What did you say to the vice president during that call?" Henry's voice carried the disappointment of betrayal. Parker had been with him for three years, and he hadn't expected this.
"I didn't say anything. The mysterious person just told me to make the call as a formality. Even though the call lasted seven minutes, I didn't say anything to the vice president."
Henry's expression darkened, and he remained silent.
"Mr. Hall, my family is in their hands. I had no choice. If it weren't for my family's safety, I would never have made that call."
"You don't know the vice president of the film company. Do you know what the mysterious person wanted you to achieve with that call?"
"Mr. Hall, I'm sorry. I know I'm your guy, and after making that call, everyone will think you sent me to do something shady. But I had no choice." Parker's voice cracked.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't have time to ask for help." Parker closed his eyes, letting tears fall, his voice trembling. "Mr. Hall, in my next life, I'll serve you and repay you. I'm sorry for this life."
"What are you planning to do?" Henry suddenly sensed something was wrong. He heard the sound of rushing wind on the other end of the line. "Parker? Parker?"
A loud noise.
The call ended abruptly.
Henry had a bad feeling. He immediately dialed another subordinate's number. "Find out where Parker is right now. Right now!"
At that moment, Briar, the servant, knocked on the study door. She opened it to find Henry radiating frustration and displeasure.
Her voice was timid. "Mr. Hall, Ms. Flores wants to talk to you."
"Tell her to wait. I have something urgent to handle right now." Henry loosened his tie, trying to calm himself down. "Prepare some desserts for her. Let her eat while she waits. I'll be there soon."
"Yes, Mr. Hall." Briar quickly retreated and closed the door.
Lola waited in the room for a while, only to see Briar return without Henry.
Her eyes reddened further, and her voice was tinged with grievance. "Where's Henry?"
"Mr. Hall seems to be in a bad mood, probably dealing with something troubling," Briar gently comforted. "Mr. Hall asked you to have some desserts and wait for him. He'll come once he's done. What would you like to eat? I'll get it for you."
"What could be so important that he'd leave me hanging?" Lola felt even more aggrieved and angry.
She guessed Henry had seen the videos Bonnie released online, reminding him of the time she confessed to Phillipe while hugging a tree.
Even though she knew that the incident was a sore spot for him, it had been so long. If he was ignoring her because of it, using silent treatment to punish her, it was too petty and calculating.
"I'm going to find him!" Lola pressed the button on her wheelchair's armrest, ready to go.
"Ms. Flores, Mr. Hall really seems to have urgent matters to handle. Be careful, don't hit the wall!" Briar saw Lola mishandling the wheelchair and almost crashing into the wall; her heart nearly stopped. She quickly grabbed the wheelchair. "Ms. Flores, let me push you."
If Lola went by herself and something happened, Briar would be in big trouble.
In the study, Henry quickly received another call.
"Mr. Hall, Parker jumped off a building. A large number of reporters have been drawn to the scene, and the cops are there too." The person on the phone sounded uneasy. "The cops found that you made the last call to Parker before he died."
Now the evidence pointed to Henry. It looked like he had ordered Parker to jump.
To outsiders, it seemed like Henry had instructed him to commit suicide.
"It seems the person who forced Parker to jump is determined to make me take the blame," Henry murmured.
The blame for the prize car incident.
Henry didn't know who was behind this, only that they were targeting him.
"And there's more bad news..."
