Chapter 923 Let Her Beat You to Vent Anger

Meanwhile, David and Vanessa walked out of the storage room, tears streaming down their faces. The servant immediately locked the door behind them.

Inside, Lola was banging on the door, crying hysterically, "Grandpa, Grandma, I messed up, I really did. Please don't cry. Don't be mad or sad because of me, it's not worth it."

Just moments ago, she had watched as David and Vanessa, who had once doted on her, stood before her, crying and questioning her, repeatedly telling her that before all this happened, they truly considered her their granddaughter.

Lola's tears flowed like a river, her heart felt like it was being torn apart, and her conscience was awakened.

She cried and banged on the door, shouting in despair and regret, "I know nothing I say now will make a difference, I've made an unforgivable mistake, I don't deserve your forgiveness, I just beg you to take care of yourselves, don't let this ruin your health."

Seeing David and Vanessa almost collapse several times during their questioning, Lola felt both guilty and heartbroken.

At first, she just wanted to maintain her status in the family, to keep their love and affection, nothing more.

She never intended to harm Abella. How did it come to this?

"Grandpa, Grandma..." Lola cried, sliding down to the floor, too weak to even sit up, and slowly collapsing onto the ground.

Yesterday, she had painfully picked out the shards of glass from her forehead, fainting twice from the pain.

The wound hadn't been treated or bandaged, she hadn't eaten or drunk anything since yesterday, she hadn't changed into clean clothes, and she hadn't even had a bed to rest on.

The places where Kimberly had hit her hurt so much that her bones felt like they were falling apart. She was now dizzy, tears still clinging to her eyelashes, feeling like she was dying, too weak to move, everything around her becoming blurry, the floor was cold, but her body felt burning hot.

David and Vanessa entered the living room just as Abella walked in. Seeing Abella safe and sound, their tears welled up again.

"Abella..." They each stepped forward, hugging her with both love and sorrow, "This family has wronged you. It's our fault."

"Dad, Mom, let go, Abella's arm is injured, don't hurt her." Kimberly quickly intervened.

David and Vanessa were startled and quickly let go, asking Abella about what had happened. Learning that she was injured, they felt even more heartbroken.

Caleb also sat beside her, concerned about her injuries and everything she had been through.

Bonnie brought them some freshly brewed tea. Seeing the adults talking together, she lowered her voice and said to Abella, "I told you before, in Verdania, no matter how many remnants of the Umbra League there are, I'll root them out. Now, those people have been caught, almost none have escaped. You can go to Verdania and play without worry."

"Thank you, Aunt Bonnie." Abella hadn't expected that during her time back home, Bonnie had been in Verdania eliminating those remnants for her. Bonnie had truly done so much for her.

"Here, have some hot tea." Bonnie handed her the cup and said, "Can you tell what kind of tea it is?"

Abella had already recognized it. "Is it the tea we always drink at your place, Aunt Bonnie?"

"Sharp nose," Bonnie smiled. "Knowing you like it, I brought six boxes for you this time."

This tea was particularly rare, and Bonnie must have pulled some strings to get her hands on six boxes.

"Thank you, Aunt Bonnie."

"Silly girl, no need to thank me. We're family. Drink it while it's hot. Anything you like, I'll get it for you."

At that moment, Kimberly noticed Lauren in the garden outside, signaling her to come over. Not wanting to interrupt the family conversation, she opened the sliding door to the garden and asked softly, "What's up?"

"Mrs. Medici, Mr. Dennis Medici has been standing outside in the cold for an hour now. I see him coughing. Easter is coming, don't let him catch a cold. If it's because Ms. Abella Medici came home and he didn't return in time, you can scold him, but don't leave him out in this weather. It's freezing, and he's wearing so little."

Kimberly was surprised. "Dennis is back?"

"Yes, I've been overseeing the garden's maintenance, and I saw Mr. Dennis Medici still standing there." Lauren was puzzled. "You didn't make him stand there? Then why are he and Louie standing outside their own house and not coming in?"

She didn't know and didn't dare ask.

"I'll go check." Kimberly was also unsure what Dennis and Louie were up to.

Outside the front door, the two men were already shivering, their lips turning pale. Having rushed back by plane and car, they hadn't realized how cold it was outside. Dennis had come straight from the hospital without a coat, and now it was starting to snow.

"Still no ideas?" Dennis shot Louie a cold look, his breath visible in the chilly air.

Only they could truly feel how cold it was outside; even the bodyguards were wearing thick coats and staying warm inside.

"Mr. Medici, if I had any ideas, I'd be inside already. I wouldn't be standing here." Louie shivered, rubbing his hands together, the cold biting, he desperately wanted to sit in the car with the heater on.

Dennis thought for a moment, then had an idea. "How about I tie you up and let Abella hit you to vent her anger?"

Louie's eyes widened, and he thought, 'Seriously, Mr. Medici? Why don't you let her hit you? You're the one who wronged her, you're the one who tried to kill her, you're the culprit!'

But he didn't dare say anything, only finding a reason. "Mr. Medici, I'm too skinny, hitting me wouldn't be satisfying. How about..."

His gaze fell on Dennis.

Dennis shot him a warning look.

Louie quickly changed the subject. "I think Ms. Medici is upset mainly because Mr. Gray broke up with her!"

"Sean can control Abella's emotions? Ridiculous." Dennis scoffed, but felt annoyed. Sean could occupy such a big place in Abella's heart, but he was freezing out here because of it. This Sean, he'd deal with him later.

"How about we tie up Mr. Gray and let her hit him?" Louie suggested.

"Mr. Medici, look, Mrs. Medici is here, it's Mrs. Medici!" Louie jumped up excitedly. "Mrs. Medici, it's us."
