Chapter 655 Bleeding
Abella wrapped up her video call, grabbed her stuff, and headed out.
Just as she left the main building, Lola caught up. "Abella, where are you going? When will you be back? I just made some cupcakes for you. They'll be ready soon."
Abella was annoyed. She turned and saw some curious servants in the garden and by the windows. "Stop wasting your time on me."
Abella knew Lola was just putting on a show.
"Abella, can you give me another chance?" Lola grabbed her hand.
"What? You want me to shake you off so you can fall?"
"No, you misunderstood," Lola said, looking hurt but still holding on.
"You, come here," Abella called to a nearby servant.
The servant, surprised, put down the broom and hurried over. "Ms. Abella Medici, what can I do for you?"
"Get her hand off me so she doesn't fall."
The servant did as told.
Lola felt wronged. "Abella, what do I have to do for you to forgive me? You won't drink my coffee, eat my snacks, or accept my apologies. I'll stay by your side until you forgive me."
Abella kept walking, and Lola followed.
Maria rushed over and grabbed Lola. "Ms. Lola Medici, you're still not well."
"Maria, let go. I'll follow Abella as long as it takes!" Lola insisted.
"Ms. Abella Medici, please forgive her. She just shared a few words with friends," Maria pleaded.
"How long are you going to keep this up?" Abella was frustrated. Lola needed Maria's help to put on this act, unlike Isla, who teased her alone.
Lola, sensing Abella's disdain, pleaded again, "Abella, what do I have to do for you to forgive me?"
"I've told you. Stay away from me and stop acting," Abella said, walking away.
Lola, desperate, chased after her and tripped.
"Ms. Lola Medici!" Maria moved to help.
Lola gestured for her to stop, then stood up and continued chasing.
"Ms. Lola Medici, your hands are bleeding!" Maria called, chasing after her.
The surrounding servants were moved.
"Ms. Lola Medici seems really sorry."
"Ms. Abella Medici is usually easygoing. I don't know why she's ignoring Ms. Lola Medici this time."
"Ms. Lola Medici lying was wrong, but Ms. Abella Medici doesn't need to be so harsh, especially since Ms. Lola Medici is still sick."
"This is the first time Ms. Lola Medici has done something against Ms. Abella Medici, right? I heard Mr. Steven Medici punished her last night—no food, no allowance, and no brand supplies. Seems a bit harsh."
Lola, coughing and looking weak, ran after Abella. "Abella, wait for me!"
Abella started the car and sped off.
Lola kept running but eventually fell for real this time.
Maria was shocked to see Lola fall again, scraping her palms, wrists, forehead, and chin. She was in real pain and couldn't get up.
"Ms. Medici, Ms. Medici," Maria rushed to help her.
"It hurts," Lola winced, unable to speak much.
Maria said, "Your chin is scraped too. Why are you so hard on yourself? No one's watching, and you fell for nothing."
Lola wanted to explain but was in too much pain to talk.
Maria called for other servants and brought a wheelchair.
Seeing Lola so hurt, the other servants felt even more sympathetic.
In his office, Steven checked the time. He had a meeting with some subsidiary managers and wanted Abella to rest at home, but she needed to attend the meeting.
Steven called home to check if Abella had left.
"Ms. Abella Medici just left," the servant reported. Seeing someone enter, they whispered, "Dr. Aaron, Ms. Lola Medici is in the room."
"Lola's illness hasn't improved?" Steven was surprised Elijah had come again. "Is it serious?"
"Yes," the servant hesitated.
"Speak freely."
"Ms. Lola Medici sat in the living room for hours this morning, wanting to apologize to Ms. Abella Medici, but she didn't come home."
Steven knew this and said calmly, "She went to a funeral."
The servant was surprised. They thought Abella was ignoring Lola.
The servant continued, "When Ms. Abella Medici came back, Ms. Lola Medici apologized, but Ms. Abella Medici didn't accept it. Ms. Lola Medici made coffee and brought it to her, but she didn't drink it. When Ms. Abella Medici was about to leave, Ms. Lola Medici tried to stop her because she made cupcakes. But Ms. Abella Medici was in a hurry and left. Ms. Lola Medici chased after her and fell twice, scraping her palms, forehead, and chin. That's why we called Dr. Aaron. Even though Ms. Abella Medici's car was far away, Ms. Lola Medici still chased it."
