Chapter 1008 Gift Card

"Thanks a ton, Phillipe! Thanks, Abella!" Rainey was ecstatic, her eyes sparkling with gratitude as she looked at Abella. It was clear that whatever Abella said, Phillipe had to follow.

This Abella was something else!

"Abella, you're incredible!" Rainey couldn't hold back her excitement and rushed forward to hug Abella. "From now on, you're my family. No one can replace you or mess with you!"

"Wow, you sure are quick to claim family," Phillipe said with a hint of sarcasm.

"You're my brother, and she's your wife. We're all part of the Bourbon family, right? Shouldn't I acknowledge that?"

Phillipe hadn't expected her to push her luck this far.

"Abella, I'll treat you to dinner sometime!" Rainey whispered in Abella's ear before saying more loudly, "Abella, let me add you on WhatsApp!"

"No way." Phillipe pulled Abella into his arms. "Don't even think about planning ahead."

Did Rainey think she could add Abella on WhatsApp and then keep asking her for favors whenever she messed up?

"How did you know I was planning ahead?" Rainey did want to exchange contact info to make it easier to invite Abella out in the future.

Abella took out her phone, opened WhatsApp, and showed her username to Rainey.

"Don't give it to her." Phillipe tried to block it, but Rainey had already memorized it and ran off to add her.

Phillipe was silent.

"Abella, I'm adding you to our family chat group," Rainey said, pulling Abella into their small group chat and the larger family group.

Phillipe had previously avoided adding Abella to the family group to keep her from being disturbed by the family.

But the next second, Victoria chimed in, having overheard. "Yes, yes, add Abella! We're all family. I'll send some gift cards in the group."

"Aunt Victoria is the best!" Rainey loved receiving gift cards. Even though she was a bona fide rich kid, getting gifts always made her happy.

Victoria sent a dozen gift cards in the group chat.

Rainey, walking and checking her messages, didn't forget to say, "Abella, why aren't you accepting them? Get your phone out, quick!"

"What are you doing?" Phillipe pulled Abella closer, displeased with Rainey's touchy behavior.

Rainey had just patted Abella's arm to remind her to accept the gift cards.

"Stay away from Abella."

"Phillipe, you're so stingy. It was just a touch. I know she's yours, but she's also my family now, right, Abella?" Rainey flashed a charming smile.

Abella smiled back and took out her phone, participating in a family group chat for the first time.

The other elders in the group, seeing that Abella had joined, all expressed their welcome by promising to send multiple gift cards.

In their smaller group, Jerry and Elara also said they would send gift cards to welcome her.

"Tonight is a big win," Rainey said excitedly, looking at the messages. "A huge haul."

"There's one more gift card you haven't seen," Phillipe reminded Abella.

Jerry, seeing how close they were, felt a dimming light in his eyes.

"Abella joined the group, so I need to prepare a bunch of gift cards for her..." Ryan, sitting on the living room couch, couldn't be happier.

Lydia was deep into browsing gift websites, determined to pick out the best presents. "My gift has to be pricier than yours..."

"Can you two give it a rest?" Andrew grumbled, frustrated. "Their speed is insane. I just sent a message, and it got buried under all their gift card messages..."

"Don't bother me," Victoria said, even more focused. "Tonight, I want Abella to feel how much we value her!"

Armando and Lyric also chimed in, saying they would send gift cards.

"Don't go overboard. You're making the rest of us invisible."

"Yeah, can you wait a bit before sending more? Let us say a few words first, okay?"

Abella walked into the living room to see six elders glued to their phones, frantically sending gift cards and messages in the group chat.

"Abella is right here. Can you just give her the gifts directly?" Phillipe stood by Abella, a bit speechless at the elders' behavior.

Ryan and Savannah suddenly remembered they had prepared gifts for Abella.

Andrew, Victoria, Armando, and Lyric also remembered and handed Abella their gifts, wishing her a Merry Christmas.

"Thank you," Abella said, accepting the gifts and thanking each one in turn.

"Abella, no need to be so polite with family," Victoria said, delighted that Abella accepted the gifts.

The other elders then handed out gifts to the younger family members. Rainey noticed her gift was smaller than Abella's and couldn't help but ask her parents, "Dad, Mom, can you be fair? This small gift, are you okay with that?"

She was their biological daughter!

"Of course, we're okay with it," Armando and Lyric said, not feeling the least bit guilty.

Rainey then looked at Ryan and Savannah.

It was one thing for Armando and Lyric to be stingy, but Ryan and Savannah too? This gift was way too small!

"Abella is here for the first time, so her gift has to be better and bigger. You're already grown up; getting a gift at all is good enough," Ryan said, clearly favoring Abella.

Rainey felt a bit hurt and looked at Andrew and Victoria.

"We're not biased," Victoria said with a smile, handing her two gifts. "One from me and one from Andrew. Wishing you happiness and wisdom."

Rainey was touched and was about to speak when she noticed the two gifts from Victoria were different from Abella's.

To be precise, all the younger family members received gifts of the same style, but different from Abella's.

"Abella is my future daughter-in-law. I hope you don't mind," Victoria said, still smiling.

Rainey did mind a little, but she couldn't help it. She liked Abella too, and besides, because of Abella's arrival, she received a lot of gift cards and presents.

In the past, their family group was never this lively, let alone giving out so many gift cards.

"If it were for someone else, I'd definitely have a word with you elders, but for Abella, I'm happy!" Rainey said, showing her phone to Abella. "Abella, because of you, I got so many gift cards tonight! Look."

Phillipe, seeing Rainey sticking close to Abella, couldn't help but say, "Can you go count your gift cards somewhere else?"
