Chapter 1038 Have You Had Enough of Acting?
"Elara, what did Abella give you to make you stick up for her like this?"
"She's pretty, so I like helping her. Unlike you."
"You're getting personal now."
"So what if I am?" Elara shoved her towards the elevator door.
Just then, the elevator doors opened, and Phillipe returned from his meeting.
"Phillipe, she's bullying me..." Elara immediately ran over and clung to Phillipe's arm, tears streaming down her face, looking pitiful. "She said she wants to be my sister-in-law, but I disagreed. Then she started pushing me, saying she would kick me out and that she would be your wife, and everyone here would have to listen to her."
"You!" Molly was stunned by Elara's audacity. She quickly tried to explain, "Phillipe, I didn't..."
"If you didn't, why is Elara crying?" Phillipe's tone was full of protection. He glanced at Elara, whose eyes were red and face full of grievance, and looked at Molly with displeasure. "What are you doing here?"
"I... I just got back to the country and came to see you. I brought you some food, but..."
"She brought you some food, and I kindly offered to help her take it to your office. But she insisted on going in herself. I told her that even as your sister, I can't just go in and out of your office without respecting your privacy. And guess what she said? She said she would be yours sooner or later, so it didn't matter if she went in now or later."
"You..." Molly was almost driven mad with anger. "Phillipe, don't listen to her nonsense."
'This damn Elara, she's too good at making things up!' Molly cursed in her head.
"Enough." Phillipe didn't want to hear Molly's explanation anymore. "From now on, without my permission, you're not allowed to come here."
Elara quickly tightened her grip on his arm and took the opportunity to ask, "Phillipe, can I come?"
"Of course."
Elara, feeling emboldened, gave Molly a triumphant and challenging look, then pretended to be scared. "Phillipe, please make her leave quickly. If you hadn't come in time, she would have hit me. You don't know how fierce she was just now, and now she's pretending to be gentle in front of you."
"You!" Molly was furious. How could Elara be so infuriating?
"Gabriel." Phillipe called, and Gabriel immediately came over.
"Phillipe, don't blame Gabriel. Molly warned him not to interfere and said she would be the future hostess of the company. If Gabriel dared to help me, she would make sure he lost his job!"
"Elara!"
"Elara is already crying, and you're still yelling at her." Phillipe's eyes showed more displeasure.
"Phillipe, she dares to act like this in front of you. I'm really afraid that next time, when you're not here, she'll take it out on me even more." Elara said, holding onto Phillipe's arm tighter, looking pitiful.
"From now on, you're not allowed to get close to Elara. I have a fiancée, so please keep your distance." Phillipe said to Gabriel, "Escort her downstairs and inform the staff not to let anyone up without permission."
"Phillipe, the receptionist downstairs, couldn't stop her. She pushed the receptionist down, and she couldn't get up. I suspect she might have a fracture. Let her go to the hospital, and don't dock her pay today."
Phillipe nodded, "Alright."
Gabriel tried to suppress his laughter, "Ms. McCoy, this way, please."
"Phillipe." Molly watched Elara holding onto Phillipe's arm as they left, feeling extremely angry.
"Phillipe, you're the best. Only you can mess with me; even my own brother can't. Who does she think she is!" Elara deliberately raised her voice for Molly to hear.
Molly didn't expect her first visit back to the country to go so poorly. Suddenly, she understood why Lola and Elsa couldn't win over Phillipe. It was because of someone like Elara!
Inside the office, Phillipe asked calmly, "Had enough of your performance?"
Elara immediately broke into a smile, "Phillipe, you really care about me. Thanks for not exposing me."
She noticed a snack cabinet in Phillipe's office. "You really have such a big snack cabinet here? I didn't believe it when I saw it online. Now that I've helped you get rid of Molly, you should treat me to some snacks."
Phillipe treated her like a child, opened the cabinet, and tossed her a bag of chips.
"So Abella likes these?" Elara happily tore open the package and started eating. Just as she took a bite, Phillipe said, "She doesn't like this flavor, so it's for you."
Elara suddenly found the chips less appetizing.
"Don't get crumbs everywhere." Phillipe hated having snack crumbs on the carpet.
"But I saw online that Abella gets crumbs everywhere, and you even hand her drinks." Elara said, reaching out, "Where's my drink?"
"These are all her favorites. You can have water."
Elara fell silent.
"By the way, why are you here?"
"I saw Abella being attacked online. I registered several accounts, but couldn't out-argue them. So I came to see if you have any way to help Abella."
"Don't worry about her."
"What are you saying!" Elara ate another chip and said seriously, "She's your fiancée. How can we just watch outsiders throw dirt on her?"
At that moment, Gabriel knocked and entered, carrying a glass of lemon water.
"Ms. Bourbon, here's your favorite lemon water." He placed the lemon water in front of Elara. "Mr. Bourbon, the person has been escorted out. The receptionist downstairs said they tried to stop her, but Ms. McCoy didn't listen and pushed them, just as Ms. Bourbon described."
"She's so rude!" Elara ate another chip and said to Phillipe, "Gabriel is the best. He remembers what I like to drink and knows I lost a lot of water crying just now, so he made me lemon water to replenish. By the way, Phillipe, you haven't said how you're going to handle Abella's situation!"
"By not interfering, you're helping her a lot."
"Why?" Elara asked, puzzled.
Gabriel explained, "Ms. Medici is playing a strategic game. Mr. Bourbon doesn't want you to ruin her plan."
"What plan? It sounds exciting."
"Don't ask any more questions. The public opinion will soon reverse. Abella wants it to simmer for a while." Phillipe added.
"As long as Abella is okay, I'm relieved!" Elara said, munching on her chips. "I've already had people take screenshots of those pretending to be Abella's classmates and slandering her online. I'll sue them one by one!"
