Chapter 605 You Don't Appreciate What You Have

"Just came from Grandma's room. What about you?" Abella asked quietly.

"I'm not sleepy yet."

"What were you mumbling to your phone about?"

Seeing no one else around, Aimee got up and whispered to Abella, "It was Ms. Lola Medici's Stories. She's showing off all the expensive gifts her family gave her, with notes on who gave each one. It's so over the top."

"What's the big deal?" Abella laughed. "That's just Lola for you."

Lola was always like this. If she didn't post it, it wouldn't be her.

"But you're the famous calligraphy master, Magnolia. Your writing is valuable. She wants to show off the gift's value but doesn't give you proper credit. Look at the picture; she only wrote 'sister,' without specifying which one. Who knows who she's talking about?" Aimee added.

Lola just wanted to flaunt the gifts without revealing her true relationship with Abella.

"I think she's a bit manipulative," Aimee said, feeling indignant for Abella. "Either don't post it or clearly say who gave it."

"Alright, go to sleep," Abella said, not bothered. She never took Lola seriously anyway.

Meanwhile, in a luxury car, a wealthy young man saw the Stories and mocked Henry beside him, "Henry, Lola posted Stories about the gifts. Why don't I see yours?"

There were gifts from parents, uncle, sister, and several brothers. But none from Henry.

No mention in the caption, no picture. Looking through Lola's past Stories, it seemed Henry never appeared.

"Does no one know you're her boyfriend?" The wealthy young man leaned back, holding his phone casually. "That ring and necklace took you a lot of effort to buy, but they don't even make it to her Stories? She doesn't value you at all."

Henry, with short, neat hair, clear eyes, and a mature handsomeness, wore a suit and looked well-mannered. His upbringing showed in his elegant demeanor.

Today, he used work as an excuse to accompany Lola to Sunhavenia. After Lola went to James' house, he met up with friends and planned to stay at a friend's hotel for the night.

"She posted all the family gifts, except yours," the wealthy young man continued.

Henry calmly said, "I haven't passed the test yet, so I'm not considered her real family."

"Is it worth it?" The wealthy young man put away his phone and scolded him, "It's just a woman. How can she make you so obsessed? Take my advice, if she doesn't make your relationship public, find another woman."

Henry's gaze finally fell on him. "I don't want to hear this from you again."

The wealthy young man was puzzled. "Do you like her that much?"

"I just like her."

She used to be engaged to Phillipe, and he could only watch from afar. Later, the engagement was canceled privately. He never knew why.

He was just happy to be with her now.

He pulled out his phone, found her Stories, watched the video, liked it, and left a comment.

Henry: [Your family is great at creating surprises and romance. I still have a lot to learn from them.]

The wealthy young man was shocked to see Henry write such a long comment.

He mocked, "So you do check Stories? You see my posts but never like them."

"You're not her," Henry said, putting away his phone with a hint of disdain. "Besides, why would a grown man post Stories? Looking for likes?"

"You... fine, my bad!" The wealthy young man felt speechless.

Lola was thrilled to see over two hundred comments. Then she saw Henry's comment, and her face turned a bit sour. 'Hmph, this guy knows he has a lot to improve!'

Phillipe prepared such a grand surprise for Abella, and look at Henry, just giving two million worth of stuff directly, with no surprise at all. So boring!

Lola replied to many people but deliberately ignored him.

After a while, she couldn't help but watch the fireworks video again. In the Long Island Manor garden, many servants were looking up at the fireworks, taking photos, recording videos, exclaiming, and wondering who the fireworks were for, guessing it must have cost a lot.

Lola felt a bit sweeter inside. As she watched the video, she thought she saw Maria by a tree, also looking at the fireworks.

The camera moved too fast, almost half a second, even pausing made the figure blurry, but Lola vaguely guessed it was Maria.

She thought, 'Didn't Maria say she heard the fireworks last night but didn't go out to see them? If she was in the garden, why lie? Could it be that Maria, being old, forgets after seeing them? Is there something wrong with her health? Or did Maria see the news and think the fireworks weren't as grand as what my brothers prepared for Abella? So she hides it to avoid making me sad?'

Thinking this, Lola felt Maria was really good, always thinking of her.

The next morning, Vanessa woke up groggily, hearing someone talking. It sounded like Abella's voice, very light and gentle.

She was asking the caregiver if there were any abnormalities last night, then Abella checked the monitoring equipment, looked at the data on the screen, and chatted with the caregiver for a while.

After a bit, a pair of soft hands fell on Vanessa's calf.

Abella sat by the bed, gently massaging Vanessa, talking to the caregiver about the condition, and instructing other servants on today's precautions.

Vanessa had already woken up, but the comfortable massage made her relax and fall asleep again. She hadn't slept this well in a long time.
