Chapter 1036 The Rival in Love Returns

"People these days just love to nitpick. Abella can handle it. In fact, we should learn from her. Look at us, we're not nearly as calm as she is," Beckett said, putting down his phone to comfort his wife.

Meanwhile, "That bastard!" Margaret screamed, throwing her phone at Elsa after seeing the trending news.

If Elsa hadn't caught it in time, it would have hit her right in the face.

"Mom," Elsa said, a bit scared.

"Don't call me!" Margaret snapped, furious at her daughter's stupidity. "In public, didn't you realize there were cameras?"

"I didn't expect that bitch Lola to have the guts to release the surveillance footage. Where did she get the nerve?" Elsa fumed, shocked that Lola had changed and gotten smarter.

"Why wouldn't she dare?" Margaret glared at Elsa. "Last time, Henry hit you by mistake while defending her. This time, even though you beat her up, Henry will at most give you a verbal warning. He can't really do anything to you. Lola must have figured that out, so she exposed the footage to sway public opinion in her favor! She's gotten smart, calling an ambulance to leave evidence for herself. Look at you, getting caught over something so trivial!"

"Mom..." Elsa felt a bit wronged. "It was a rare chance to run into her. I was still angry about how badly I got beaten last time."

Margaret's face remained stern and silent.

"Mom, I have an idea. What if I say that Lola used to bully Abella, and when I saw her at the mall, she insulted Abella, so I lost my temper and hit her with some friends?"

Before Elsa could finish, Margaret cut her off. "Do you even know what people think of Abella right now?"

Both she and Abella were being heavily criticized!

Margaret, still angry, finally said, "The Medici family will definitely step in to clear Abella's name. Once Abella is vindicated, you can come forward with your story. Public opinion will naturally shift in your favor."

Elsa's eyes lit up with excitement. Her mother was brilliant! This way, she could gain popularity and ride on Abella's coattails to clear her own name and gain followers.

"Remember, no more mistakes!" Margaret said, getting up to leave, leaving Elsa behind.

A vengeful glint appeared in Elsa's eyes.

'Damn, Lola, daring to pull such stunts behind my back, thinking she could control public opinion with surveillance footage? Next time, I won't let her get away with it.' Elsa cursed in her head.

Meanwhile, a spoiled rich girl put away her phone, sneering, "So this is the girl Phillipe likes? Aside from her looks, everything else is probably just the Medici family's doing."

A supposed piano prodigy, a renowned doctor, and now exposed as a troublemaker who loves to fight. People were even questioning if she really earned her top scores!

"Miss McCoy, you are right. A girl who grew up outside, raised by a few old men, and now she's at the top of every field? She's not human, she's a god!"

The butler smirked disdainfully. "If it weren't for the marriage agreement between the Medici and Bourbon families, how could a girl like her be with the Bourbon family's son? But now that public opinion is in our favor, once Abella's reputation is ruined, you'll easily be with Phillipe."

"Lola is useless. I went to Verdania for school, and she still hasn't won over Phillipe. Elsa is just as useless. She likes Phillipe, but even though Lola isn't the biological daughter, she still hasn't won Phillipe's heart. Instead, she's caused trouble for herself. Looks like I'll have to step in personally." Molly stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of her mansion, arms crossed, looking out at her vast garden with a confident smile.

"Ms. Mccoy, you grew up with Mr. Bourbon and even lived at the Bourbon Manor for a while. The bond you share is deeper than any of these other girls. Now that you're on winter break, it's the perfect time to strengthen your relationship with Mr. Bourbon."

"I don't care what surprises and romantic gestures Phillipe prepared for Abella. Now that her true colors are exposed, with a little effort, Phillipe will be mine. Get some snacks ready for me to take to Phillipe." Molly's eyes gleamed with confidence. With her around, Abella didn't stand a chance.

"Yes, I'll prepare them right away, just to Mr. Bourbon 's taste."

Molly looked at the garden and added, "Wait, have the kitchen staff make something simple. Otherwise, Phillipe will know I didn't make it."

"You're so thoughtful. This time, we'll focus on simple and delicious."

The servant smiled, admiring Molly. "Ms. McCoy, you have the looks, the background. Over the years, our McCoy family has thrived abroad, no less than the Medici family. If Mr. McCoy weren't so low-key, the Medici family wouldn't even be in the picture."

"But now Mr. McCoy wants to return and develop domestically. You'll have more time and opportunities to be with Mr. Bourbon."

"Phillipe knows the McCoy family's capabilities. Alright, go prepare. I'll take it to him. With Abella in trouble, he must be upset and need someone to talk to." Molly finished, her face beaming with pride.

At the hospital, Abella was surrounded by the families of the injured, demanding answers.

"Although the car involved in the raffle wasn't produced by our brand, it was purchased through legitimate channels. The vehicle hasn't been sent to an authoritative institution for inspection yet. Rest assured, if it's the Medici family's responsibility, we won't shirk it," Abella assured the crying families.

"My son dreamed of having his own car. We've worked on construction sites all our lives. A few years ago, his father fell from a height and now can only stay at home. We never thought he'd win. If he had listened to us and sold the car, he wouldn't be lying in the hospital now."

"My daughter loves watching live streams. We told her so many times, but she wouldn't listen. A few days ago, she said she won, and she was so happy. We didn't believe it. Now, after just a few days, she's in an accident. She's our only child."
