Chapter 1062 Execution of the Death Penalty

Henry rushed over, "Lola, what do you need to tell me?"

"Henry," Lola's voice was barely audible, like she was using the last bit of her strength, "I don't want to die."

Hearing that, tears welled up in Henry's eyes again.

"I haven't even gotten engaged to you, haven't had kids with you. I really don't want to die." Lola's words faded as she slipped back into unconsciousness, tears streaming down her face.

Henry couldn't hold back his tears any longer; they flowed like a river breaking through a dam.

After composing himself, Henry called the mysterious person again. Even though the person on the other end didn't respond, he kept calling, not wasting a single second, dialing over and over.

After countless calls, the person finally picked up.

"Don't hang up!" Henry pleaded urgently, "I'll do anything you ask, just save her."

"How do I know you're worth trusting again? Besides, I have many pawns. Losing you wouldn't be a big deal."

"As you said, no one else can save her but you. I'm still waiting for the final antidote to be developed. So during this time, I'll do whatever you ask! I won't disobey your orders. If you find someone else, they might not be as capable as me, and they might not have the same motivation to go against the Medici family."

Because Lola was his girlfriend, and Abella refused to save her, he had killed Abella in a fit of rage.

This reason could keep the mysterious person out of the spotlight, while directing the Medici family's vengeance solely at Henry, keeping the mysterious person safe.

This was why the mysterious person wanted him to take out Abella.

"Come to the balcony on this floor," The mysterious person finally relented.

Henry immediately left the ward and ran to the balcony on that floor.

Briar, curious, peeked out from the ward door and was shocked to see Henry kneeling on the balcony.

Who was he talking to on the phone? Could it be Abella?

To save Lola, Henry, such a proud man, was actually kneeling in public to someone on the phone.

Briar was stunned, not expecting Henry's love for Lola to be so deep.

"Kneel for two hours, and I'll give you the antidote," The mysterious person said before hanging up.

Henry knelt on the balcony, knowing he had to let the mysterious person vent their anger, or they wouldn't hand over the antidote.

Briar saw that Henry had stopped calling but was still kneeling on the balcony. She could only, in Henry's name, instruct the nurses on that floor to tell the families in each ward not to step out.

That was all she could do.

She had to protect the Hall family's dignity.

The Hall family's dignity couldn't be compromised.

Melanie heard the nurse's instructions through the intercom and was puzzled. What was going on?

In broad daylight, why weren't families allowed to leave their wards?

Curious, she opened the door and looked out.

The hallway was empty. Just as she was about to close the door, she noticed someone kneeling at the end of the hallway on the large balcony.

She opened the door again and saw that the person kneeling on the balcony was none other than her lovesick brother, Henry!

She was baffled and furious, rushing over to demand, "What are you doing? Begging God to save that woman? Our Hall family has a reputation to uphold. As Grandpa's most valued successor, you're kneeling here. What if someone downstairs sees you? Get up now!"

"Melanie, stay out of this," Henry said, kneeling straight, disregarding all dignity and pride, as long as the mysterious person kept their promise and gave him the antidote.

"Why should I stay out of it? You're kneeling here, disgracing the Hall family! Do you hear me? Get up!" Melanie tried to pull him up.

But Henry shook off her hand, "Stop it. Go back inside. I'll leave in two hours."

"Two hours? Why are you kneeling here for two hours? Who made you do this?" Melanie couldn't understand, but her intuition told her it had something to do with Lola.

"Did that woman argue with you and make you kneel here as punishment? You won't get up? Fine, I'll go find her!" Melanie was about to leave.

"Melanie!" Henry grabbed her arm, "This has nothing to do with her. Go inside. I can't say more."

Melanie's intuition told her that her brother was being threatened. Who dared to threaten a Hall family member?

The Hall family wasn't just any small-time family to be easily manipulated.

If it wasn't Lola, then who?

Was it Abella?

No, Abella seemed to be upright and honest. Then who else...

"If you want me to go inside, you have to tell me why you're kneeling here. Just tell me the reason, and I'll go." Melanie snapped.

Henry, unable to shake her off, finally said, "I have to save her, so I have to do this. I can't just watch her die!"

"You're kneeling here to save her? Will this really save her?"

"Yes."

Melanie couldn't believe Henry was willing to sacrifice his dignity and the Hall family's reputation to save that Lola.

Furious and unable to understand, she turned and left, out of sight, out of mind.

Two hours later, the mysterious person called, instructing Henry to retrieve the antidote from a fire hose cabinet in the stairwell on that floor.

Henry gave the antidote to Lola, and she finally pulled through.

A few days later, news of Jeff and Skylar's execution made headlines.

"Those two were so evil, killing their own family for money. If Abella hadn't provided evidence, they'd still be free."

"Finally, justice is served. Vilma can rest in peace now."

"Good and evil always get their due. I've believed that since I was a kid. Now you see, their karma caught up with them!"

Many people went to Abella's social media to tell her that the couple was finally dead and Vilma could rest in peace.

A lot of people also went to Isla's page, cursing her parents and telling her to die too, saying she was no better.

At that moment, Isla wasn't paying attention to the comments. She had been notified to collect Jeff and Skylar's ashes. When the urns were handed to her, she couldn't hold back her tears any longer.
