Chapter 925 Dennis's Other Side
Steven quickly wired twenty million dollars to Blake. "Thanks, Steven! Now go deal with Dennis. He upset Abella."
Blake then turned his attention to Ethan. "Hey Ethan, there's something about Abella you might want to know. It'll cost you twenty million to get the scoop!"
Ethan didn't hesitate and transferred the money.
Blake marveled at how easy it was to make money. "It's Dennis. He bullied Abella. Go handle him."
Next, Blake approached Winston. "Winston, something happened. Someone upset Abella. I need twenty million to have the guts to tell you!"
Winston transferred the money without delay. "Alright, spill it. Who messed with Abella?"
"It was Dennis. Go deal with him."
Blake checked his bank account, now boasting a total of one hundred and ten million dollars. He happily transferred the money to Abella. "Abella, here's some spending money for you. Easter is coming up, so treat yourself to some new clothes. I'll be home the day after tomorrow to spend time with you. See you then!"
Abella was a bit stunned by the sudden large transfer. "Blake, you don't have to keep sending me money. I have enough, and I know you work hard for it."
"No, this money was easy to make, really. You deserve it!" Blake had initially wanted to say something nice about Dennis, but then thought better of it. Dennis had upset Abella, so he could suffer a bit longer.
Not long after, Dennis's phone buzzed with messages from his three brothers.
Steven: [You haven't been home in six months, and now you're upsetting Abella? Just wait until I get back.]
Ethan: [I don't care what you do outside, but you upset Abella? Just wait. I've changed my flight to come back early.]
Winston: [We never say a harsh word to Abella, and you dare to upset her? Just wait.]
Dennis was silent. Blake had told everyone about this.
In the living room, Vanessa suggested that Lola apologize to Abella, but Abella refused. She didn't want to see Lola's endless crying.
"What do you all think?" Vanessa asked the others in the room.
Lola had done so many awful things to Abella, and she hadn't even apologized.
"She tried to harm Abella. Does an apology even matter now? She just doesn't want to be locked in the cold basement, doesn't want us to be disappointed in her, doesn't want us to hate her. Easter is coming, and she doesn't want her actions exposed in front of everyone, ruining her image." Bonnie, as always, was calm and stunning. "An apology for those reasons is worse than no apology at all. Don't disgust Abella."
"Bonnie's right. It's unnecessary," Caleb said. "She's apologized to Abella before, and what happened?"
"Forget it. Out of sight, out of mind," David sighed.
At that moment, Abella's phone buzzed again. Everyone noticed, and Vanessa asked, "Abella, is that a new phone?"
"Phillipe bought it," Abella explained. "My old one broke. Before the plane landed at Long Island Manor, we went to the Bourbon Group headquarters, and someone brought it to the rooftop. It's their new product, not yet on the market."
"Phillipe is so thoughtful, always knowing exactly what you need," Vanessa said, clearly impressed. She had seen the surveillance footage of Maria throwing Abella's phone from the eighteenth floor and had been considering getting Abella a custom one, but Phillipe had acted so quickly.
Abella checked the new message. It was a bank notification. She had received one hundred million dollars from Theo.
Theo: [Ms. Medici, after the abandoned building explosion, Mr. Medici seems to have lost his mind. He said he'd give us the island for free and transferred fifty million dollars to you for shopping. A total of one hundred million dollars. I transferred it to you!]
Since Louie only had Theo's bank account, he transferred the money to Theo, who then sent it to Abella.
Abella was puzzled by Dennis's actions.
She replied: [Increase surveillance on the island. If anyone tries to take over or does anything excessive, retaliate immediately. No need to hold back.]
Theo replied: [Understood.] He didn't know what Medici was up to, but he was happy for Abella's sudden windfall.
Theo added: [Ms. Medici, do you think that guy is trying to pursue you? Such a grand gesture must mean he's interested! After all, you're so beautiful.]
'He wants to pursue Saskia. Does he even know his own worth, thinking he can go after my friend?' Abella thought.
Just then, Kimberly entered the living room. Noticing Abella's troubled expression, she sat beside her and said, "Abella, your fourth brother hasn't been home for over six months. It's really too much. I used to scold him a lot, but recently I found out he was injured. He didn't come home because he didn't want us to worry."
"He was injured? What kind of injury?" Abella asked, concerned.
"His subordinates didn't say, just that he had surgery and is fine now," Kimberly observed Abella's emotions and tried to comfort her. "He was wrong not to come home for so long, but don't take it to heart."
Abella wasn't angry. "My brothers are busy. I understand. It's okay."
Kimberly was surprised that Abella wasn't upset about this. So what was she upset about?
Kimberly had an epiphany.
"Your fourth brother is used to being wild and does things his own way, but he has a good heart." Kimberly added, "He recently asked for your phone number. I didn't give it to him, so he asked your dad. He cares about you."
Abella had no opinion about the brother she had never met, and just listened.
"He's had a tough time. He left the company to Steven and started his own business, facing many hardships. For the family's sake, he handled the dirty work, letting us be the good guys."
"When Steven first took over the company, a relative almost caused him a car accident. Without solid evidence, your fourth brother beat that relative into the hospital. He's been wild since he was young, and that relative knew we couldn't control him."
It wasn't that they couldn't control him. Dennis had been protecting his family in his own way since he was young.
