Chapter 169 Broken Tailfin
Abella walked towards the coffee shop while making a phone call to her mother. "Mom, a friend of mine had an accident. I need to go see her. Yes, it's quite serious. She is abroad and I will be gone for two days..."
After the call, Abella dialed Joseph's number. "I have some things to attend to in the next few days at the company. If anyone asks for me, tell them I'm in a meeting. Don't let anyone know I'm not here."
Joseph was taken aback, as it was the first time he had heard that Miss Medici couldn't come to work. "No problem, Miss Medici. But where are you going?"
Just as he was about to inquire further, the call ended with a beep-beep-beep.
That's Miss Medici for you, always swift in her actions and never wasting words.
At the top of Valleydale Mountain, a luxurious private plane was parked. Four hired mercenaries stood respectfully by its side. Sam had brought along several equipment, and Tony loaded his gun with bullets. When Abella appeared, he immediately stepped forward.
"Boss, you're finally here! Why do you suddenly want to go to the Triangle District?"
Tony had barely asked the question when Sam scoffed at him. "Is it even worth asking? That place is one of the boss's strongholds! Let's go there and show those punks our power!"
Wasn't this what the boss should do?
"Do some research on ginseng for me," Abella said as she walked up the stairs to the plane, exuding a strong aura and leaving a cool silhouette.
"Ginseng?" Sam hesitated for a moment, as if the memory of the last ginseng incident was still fresh in his mind. "Boss, who are we rescuing this time?"
Abella didn't hide anything and mentioned a person. "The Bourbon family grandmother."
The Bourbon family?
Phillipe's grandmother?
Sam felt as if a mountain of gold was beckoning to him. "The reward they're offering must be high, right?"
For the boss to risk her life again to retrieve this item, it must be worth several billion dollars, at least.
"No."
"What? No reward?" Sam and Tony exchanged glances. So the boss didn't earn a single penny on this trip? It was all for nothing?
Then what was the boss after?
Phillipe's handsome face in his prime? Or was he enchanted by a few words from Phillipe?
"Let's go." Abella's tone carried a hint of coldness.
Sam and Tony silently sympathized with Phillipe in their hearts. To face the boss's cold attitude every day, they couldn't imagine how he felt...
Were they all as anxious as they were?
After a long eight-hour flight, Abella took a nap on the plane. When she woke up, she changed into a stylish outfit and put on a cap, transforming into a cool girl.
"Boss, there's a virus that's been quite popular recently over there. It's called X3."
It's said to be spread through the air, and those infected have their whole bodies rotting, suffering until they die...
This virus originated from a well-known research institute in the Triangle District...
There is no cure yet.
Sam handed Abella a black mask, saying, "A few of our brothers have also been infected."
After putting on the mask, Abella's clear and bright eyes were revealed, making her look even more captivating. "I'll go back and take a look."
"Okay." Sam glanced at the boss from the side. "If the boss were a guy, he would definitely attract a lot of girls."
"The boss is so good-looking. It's a shame he ended up with that jerk Phillipe."
As the plane flew into the triangle area, the captain hadn't had a chance to activate the automatic defense mode when suddenly, a shell hit their tail wing, causing the plane to lose balance and spin in mid-air.
A piercing alarm sounded in the cabin.
Everything was in disarray, and Abella instinctively gripped the armrest, her face turning extremely cold.
Luckily, everyone had fastened their seat belts; otherwise, they would have been thrown out long before.
"Who the hell did this?" Sam cursed under his breath, struggling to stand up and heading to the cockpit.
"Who's been so presumptuous lately?" Abella hadn't been here for a while and didn't expect the danger level to be even higher than before.
"There's a new gang, called The Wolf Gang, they're particularly crazy, they've gone wild. They've provoked almost all the other gangs except for The C Gang!" Tony angrily said, wishing to settle the score with them.
The plane's tail wing was partially damaged and rapidly descending.
"Lock in the position and drop the bombs." Abella coldly said, "If they dare to bomb our tail wing, they should be prepared to bear the consequences. Find a place for an emergency landing."
"Understood." Tony immediately conveyed her orders to the cockpit.
The captain locked onto the location where they were hit earlier, at the two o'clock direction, and dropped the bombs. With a loud bang, thick smoke filled the Triangle area again, enveloping it in terror.
After the plane made an emergency landing, several cars quickly appeared in front of Abella.
People got out of the cars, each holding a gun, and when they saw Abella, they showed great respect.
"Boss!"
"Boss, you're here?"
"Long time no see."
"Hmm." Abella got into the car, her eyes showing a hint of coldness.
Everyone admired her mental composure. The boss is the boss, even in such a place, she remained expressionless, as if she didn't care about anyone.
Even if a famous undercover agent from the country entered this area, their entire body would be on high alert, and their gaze would be particularly vigilant...
But the boss had just had her tail wing bombed, yet she seemed as if nothing had happened, her eyes clear and cold.
Just then, her phone vibrated.
Looking at it, it was a call from Phillipe.
"Abella, I'm abroad now." Phillipe checked the time. "Someone will pick you up from work shortly."
From work?
Abella immediately replied, "No need, I have my own car."
"I'm worried if you're going to and from work alone." Phillipe's voice was gentle to the extreme. "Be obedient, let someone pick you up."
"The driver will arrive in three minutes. There are some snacks in the car, they're for you."
Abella felt a slight headache, but her tone was still pleasant, "I'll have Joseph grab them, I have a meeting shortly. I have some matters to attend to today, you don't need to pick me up."
"You have a meeting at this hour?" Phillipe was concerned about her being too tired, "Then give me a call when you get home."
"Alright."
After ending the call, Abella dialed Joseph's number. Joseph immediately went downstairs and saw a person arrive in a limited edition Rolls-Royce.
He thought to himself, Phillipe is really wealthy, not only does he have the driver in a nice car, the driver himself looks particularly refined.
"Hello, I am Miss Medici's assistant, you can call me Joseph!" Joseph beamed, "Mr. Bourbon sent you, right?"
"Hello, I am Mr. Bourbon's personal butler, you can call me Wyatt."
Joseph noticed that Wyatt was holding many expensive snacks and couldn't help but be amazed. The wealthy sure know how to indulge themselves, a single meal's worth could cover his monthly salary.
"Where is Miss Abella?" Wyatt didn't see the girl's figure and couldn't help but express his concern.
"Oh, Miss Medici is still in a meeting, and she has other matters to attend to later. She has already informed Mr. Bourbon, she'll go home by herself later."
