Chapter 1020 Two-faced Person
On the other side of the room, a reporter was still interviewing Kenneth, the president of Innovation University.
"Mr. Thompson, can you tell our live stream viewers why Abella, who's already a distinguished professor at Innovation University, decided to study at Medical University?"
Kenneth replied casually, "Well, someone pulled some strings. They knew Abella loved researching pharmaceuticals, so they used their savings to buy the world-renowned top-tier pharmaceutical research instrument, the H30."
There were only two H30s in the world—one in a national research institute abroad and the other at Rodolfo's school.
This H30 could significantly advance pharmaceutical research both qualitatively and quantitatively.
"Besides the H30, Rodolfo also bought the X1, T2p, Y23, and other instruments, placing them in the school's lab for Abella's convenience. Of course, Abella's medical skills were initially inspired by him. Out of gratitude and a desire to collaborate on developing more beneficial medicines, she chose Medical University."
Everyone was surprised to learn that the top student with a perfect score chose Medical University for such reasons!
They had underestimated her, thinking she was merely interested in medicine.
Unexpectedly, Abella was already capable of collaborating with Rodolfo, the president of the Medical University.
Meanwhile, someone commented on a trending topic: [I'm Abella's college classmate. Although we weren't in the same class, I was there when she led the team in a prestigious school competition. Someone challenged her, and she went on stage to perform a dissection! She stunned everyone with her calmness and professionalism. Even I was impressed!]
Another classmate chimed in: [At the time, professors from Innovation University's medical department wanted her as a student, and core members from the Empire Vista City Medical Research Society and Libertya Medical Research Society extended offers to her. Everyone said she was a rare medical genius.]
Yet another classmate added: [Many classmates think she's smart, beautiful, easygoing, and has a unique personality. Whenever someone had a stuffy nose or a cold, they'd go to her for treatment.]
In the banquet hall, the reporter turned to interview Rodolfo, the president of the Medical University. "Earlier, Mr. Bourbon mentioned that it was Abella who cured him and his wife. What do you think about that?"
Rodolfo was a bit annoyed. "Those minor ailments couldn't possibly stump my Abella, could they? Isn't she the Abbott with the Medical Authority title?"
The reporter was stunned. "Are you saying Abella is the legendary Abbott, known for miraculous cures? But isn't Abbott supposed to be a man?"
Rodolfo covered his mouth, realizing he might have revealed too much. He glanced at the older gentlemen around him. "Did I just spill the beans about Abella's identity again?"
Kenneth chuckled, "Oh, come on, everyone knows about that already. How many folks here have been patched up by Abella?"
Rodolfo glanced around and realized it was true. A lot of guests owed their health to Abella's treatments.
Clarence jumped in, "You guys have plenty of students to carry on your legacies. But me? I've only got my sights set on Abella. Hey viewers, if you've got a minute, help me convince her to take up my legacy. I'll even teach Go online for free."
Clifford wasn't having it. "She's already the Go King KnightStrategist. She doesn't need your legacy! The viewers are more interested in hearing me and her play violin duets. Ask them if they dig our piece 'Worldly'!"
Everyone was too stunned to speak. Abella was both the Go King KnightStrategist and the violin master Stringless.
"Today's Abella's welcome-back party, and you all are trying to steal her away from me. She'd be better off with me. If she learned my cooking skills, she could whip up delicious meals every day! Her quality of life would skyrocket!"
Terrence's words made Clifford roll his eyes. "Abella's cooking is probably way better than yours. Besides, would Phillipe even let her cook? He's got a team of top chefs."
"Can they compare to me?" Terrence huffed. He was a culinary master, after all!
If Abella inherited his skills, her culinary and life skills would greatly improve!
"Alright, alright, stop bickering. Abella inheriting my legacy makes the most sense," Marc cut in, trying to mediate.
"What, so she can tinker with your gadgets and race cars, or become a hacker?" Clifford shot back.
Marc wasn't backing down. "Racing is a great stress reliever! Girls racing cars are so cool. Ask the viewers. And what's wrong with being a hacker? You can hack into anyone's computer."
"Shut up, Marc. Some viewers are kids. Don't lead them astray! And racing isn't cool; it's dangerous for girls. Ask the viewers if they'd want sweet, sensible Abella in danger."
"Fine, fine, I can't argue with you. Abella," Marc called her over, pretending to be hurt, "they're bullying me!"
"Damn, you dare play the victim in front of Abella? Viewers should call you two-faced."
"Abella, did you hear that? He called me two-faced. Ever since you returned to the Medici family, they've been picking on me when you're not around!"
Seeing them about to flip tables and start a brawl, Abella smirked and asked, "Are we eating or not?"
All the elders immediately replied, "Yes."
"This is your welcome-back party. We should at least have a peaceful meal."
"Exactly, we'll finish all the dishes!"
"We're here to celebrate you!"
"Come on, Abella leaves, and you start talking about legacies again! Abella, he even asked the viewers to pressure you into inheriting his legacy. Luckily, we stopped him."
"Marc, you shameless jerk, who was just fighting for Abella to inherit their legacy?"
"Enough, stop arguing." With one word from Abella, the elders fell silent, though their eyes still exchanged competitive glances.
