Chapter 701 Two Difficult People
After Lola hung up, she just couldn't keep it together anymore and slid right down to the ground.
On the phone, she could totally feel Caleb's real concern, not just some fake words or act.
But even with Caleb caring so much, she felt miles away from him.
Lola grabbed a handful of snow, squeezing it tight. "If it wasn't for Abella, I'd still be the Medici family's darling daughter. My brothers wouldn't hate me, my aunt wouldn't hit me, and I could still be my uncle's little princess. Those were the good old days. It's all Abella's fault I'm in this mess!"
The snow melted in her hand, but she didn't even feel the cold. Her eyes were burning with hate for Abella!
The phone kept ringing until she snapped out of it and answered.
"Sorry, Ms. Medici, traffic was a nightmare. I'm downstairs at the Skyview Restaurant. Where are you?" the driver said, sounding all flustered.
"I've already gone back to the hotel." Lola hung up coldly, not wanting the driver to see her looking like a wreck, which could get back to Henry and stir up trouble.
The snow kept falling as she struggled to her feet and slowly made her way back to the hotel.
On the way, she remembered Bonnie saying she bought a six-million-dollar gift for Abella, which made her hate Abella even more.
The next morning, Abella had just finished getting ready and was about to head downstairs when a servant nervously stopped her. "Ms. Medici, you should go back and sleep a bit more. Or, take the other staircase to the garden, but don't go through the living room."
Abella was confused. "Why?"
"Mr. Harris' Aunt Angie is here, and she's a tough one," the servant whispered. "Mrs. Harris is already dealing with her. Ms. Medici, if you really can't sleep, go to the garden. I'll bring your breakfast there."
"Okay." Abella didn't want any drama. As soon as she got to the garden, she saw a girl on the swing taking selfies.
Noticing Abella, Erica Harris snapped, "Is this how Bonnie treats her guests? I came to see her out of kindness, and there's not even a drink or snack. Hurry up and bring them to me!"
Abella looked at the sharp-tongued Erica and asked calmly, "Who are you?"
"What's it to you?" Erica glared at Abella. "Why does a servant need to ask so many questions!"
Just then, a servant came over with snacks and fruits, shaking like a leaf. The servant's hand slipped, almost spilling everything.
Abella quickly steadied the tray. "I'll take it."
The servant wanted to warn Abella that Erica was trouble.
Abella had already taken the tray and placed it in front of the rich girl.
Erica was admiring herself in a mirror. Seeing Abella bring the stuff, she was immediately annoyed. "Is this what Bonnie has you bring to entertain me?"
"Is there a problem?"
"These are low-grade things, and you have the nerve to serve them to me!" Erica knocked the tray to the ground.
Freshly squeezed orange juice, milk, six kinds of fruits, and four kinds of pastries all hit the grass.
The nearby servants were all like, "Whoa."
Abella didn't even flinch. "So, you've never eaten this stuff before?"
"Of course, I have!"
"Then you called this stuff low-grade. So, are you a lowlife?"
"You, you dare insult me?" Erica stood up, fuming, and raised her hand to slap Abella.
Abella caught her hand like it was nothing.
"You dare hold onto me? Let go! I said let go, didn't you hear?"
Abella just shoved her away. Erica fell back into the chair, her face turning beet red with rage!
"Are you a servant trained by Bonnie? Trying to piss me off on purpose? Your manners are as trashy as hers!" Erica pointed right at Abella's nose. "I now order you to pick up everything on the ground and eat it all!"
Abella looked at her like she was nuts and asked coolly, "What if I don't?"
"Then you're in for a rough day! Someone!"
Seven or eight bodyguards stepped forward.
"Strip off her clothes!" Erica pointed at the limited edition QY outfit Abella was wearing. "No way she could afford that on her salary! Bonnie must've taught her some tricks to get stuff from men!"
How else could a servant afford QY clothes? Erica thought.
Abella hadn't hit anyone in a long time, but today, Erica was really pushing her buttons.
"Looks like I hit a nerve? You're mad 'cause it's true?" Erica sneered. "If the hostess is trash, the servant will be too. Strip her clothes, beat her up, and send her to Bonnie!"
"Don't be rude to Ms. Medici!" Several servants finally found their courage and rushed over to stand in front of Abella. "This is Ms. Medici, not a servant like you said."
Erica scoffed, "Ms. Medici? Never heard of her. Bonnie's secret love child? All grown up?"
"How dare you! She is Mr. Harris' niece! Mrs. Medici's real daughter!"
"When did Kimberly have a grown daughter? Did Bonnie corrupt her too, teaching her to seduce men?"
Abella stepped forward and knocked down several bodyguards. Before anyone could react, she was already in front of Erica, kicking her hard.
Erica hadn't even processed what was happening when Abella slapped her several times.
Abella grabbed her collar and demanded, "Is my mother's reputation something you can trash?"
Erica was stunned, her face red, and her eyes even redder.
She couldn't believe she was getting beat up in Caleb's manor!
"Has no one taught you manners? Don't you know whose place this is? Someone!" Abella asked the servants beside her, "Who is she?"
"Mr. Harris' Aunt Angie is her grandmother."
Abella's eyes lit up with satisfaction. "Then today, I'll teach you a good lesson!"
The servants in the manor were all in shock, unable to believe Abella dared to hit Erica. After all, Erica was the most spoiled by Ulysses and Angie, pampered since she was a kid.
Even Caleb had to give her some respect.
But today, Abella hit her.
And Abella hit her hard.
The seven or eight bodyguards on the ground watched Erica get beaten, unable to get up from the pain, totally helpless.
