Chapter 558 Thank You, Abella
The helicopter hovered just above the lake. Abella saw it, opened the cabin door, and jumped out.
The stone was dragging them down fast.
Abella swam deeper and spotted two familiar figures sinking quickly.
Josie and Bella were tied up, unable to struggle. They were holding their breath but running out of time.
What now? Would they die here?
Josie started crying, not understanding what was happening as she was thrown into the lake.
Her panic made her swallow water, and she felt like she was suffocating. Help, someone save her.
In her despair, she felt someone tugging at her rope. She opened her eyes and saw Abella!
Abella used a knife to cut the ropes, trying to free her from the stone, but it was slow underwater.
Josie’s tears flowed. She hadn’t expected Abella to risk her life to save her.
She wanted to cry out loud but held back, fearing it would make things worse.
A few more people jumped into the water and swam towards them.
Phillipe was the fastest. He helped cut Josie's ropes and tried to pull Abella up, but Abella still wanted to save Bella.
Meanwhile, Phillipe's men swam to Bella, cut her ropes, and pulled her up.
Relieved, Abella supported Josie. Once they surfaced, they took deep breaths of fresh air.
"Abella," Josie said, overwhelmed and dizzy.
"Let's get to the shore first." Abella swam towards the shore with her. Phillipe swam beside them, helping as much as he could.
When they reached the shore, Josie was shivering, and Bella, having choked on water, was still unconscious.
Abella pressed on her a few times, and she spat out water. After a moment, she hugged Abella and started crying loudly.
"Abella," Bella cried, ignoring everyone else. "Those bad people were so cruel. They tied stones to us and punched us. Josie's face is hurt."
Abella looked and saw Josie's swollen cheek and cut lip. She felt a pang of heartache. "Don't worry, we'll get revenge."
"Who were they? They wouldn't say anything. They just pushed us into the lake. My knee got scraped, and they still hit us." Bella cried hysterically.
Abella comforted her gently, "It's okay now. Let's get out of here."
"Thank goodness you came. Thank goodness you saved us," Bella said, hugging her and crying.
Phillipe noticed how much Abella was loved and trusted by her friends. She was so gentle when comforting them.
"Alright, it's okay now. Don't cry," Abella said, finally calming her down.
Josie then rushed over to hug Abella. "Abella, you came just in time. Thank you for saving us."
If they had been a minute later, they might have drowned.
After a while, once everyone had calmed down, Abella got them onto the helicopter.
Phillipe draped a blanket over Abella and helped dry her hair. "Don't catch a cold."
"I'm fine."
"Let's head to my place to change clothes first. Don't want you getting sick." The helicopter, unlike their private jet, didn't have a bedroom or wardrobe. Phillipe directed them to the nearest resort.
This resort was owned by the Bourbon Group. The helicopter landed, and the staff were already waiting. "Mr. Bourbon, Ms. Medici!"
Each staff member held a clean bath towel.
Phillipe took a towel and draped it over Abella. "You go shower and change first. Clothes are already in the room."
Knowing she had friends to look after, Phillipe didn't go with her.
"Ms. Medici, ladies, please follow me," the resort manager said, personally escorting them to the presidential suite.
On the way, Abella called Joanna. "We found them."
Joanna was so happy she almost jumped, tears welling up. "Did Mr. Bourbon find you? I knew he would. Are they okay?"
"They have some minor injuries," Abella said gently. "You're smart to figure out my message."
"At first, I was confused and couldn't remember what you wrote on my back. It took me a while to figure it out."
"So, you really saved us."
Joanna clutched her phone, feeling touched. "When are you coming back? Are you on your way now?"
"We'll come back later," Abella said softly. "Go to the cafeteria and get something to eat. Stay at school."
Most of those people were dead or injured, but just in case, it was safer to stay at school.
"Okay, I'll stay at school and wait for you."
"Alright, I'll hang up now."
Abella arrived at the presidential suite door. The manager bowed and spoke respectfully, "Ms. Medici, if you need anything, just ring the bell. I'm at your service. Here's the medical kit you requested."
"Thank you," Abella nodded, took the medical kit, and led the two into the suite.
Bella was still shaken. Seeing the beautiful suite and recalling the man with Abella, who looked like Phillipe, the world's richest man, she was stunned.
"Abella, that man, is he your boyfriend? Is his name Phillipe?" Bella asked, amazed.
"Yes, sit down, and I'll treat your wounds," Abella said, having them sit on the sofa.
Bella was shocked. "You're dating Phillipe, the world's richest man?"
"What's so surprising? Our Abella is amazing. Who else is more qualified to be with Phillipe?" Josie said, then asked, "Abella, how did you know we were in danger? And how did you know we fell into the lake?"
While treating their wounds, Abella explained what had happened, leaving out anything related to the Umbra League.
The fewer people who knew, the safer it would be.
"So that's what happened," Josie said angrily, "To force you to show up, they used such dirty tricks."
