Chapter 644 Steven personally introduced Abella to them.
"Phillipe must've brought you here to mess with Lola. The Bourbon and Medici families are tight, so the Medici servants wouldn't stop Phillipe, let alone you."
"I can't believe you followed him in, enjoying the Medici family's snacks and drinks while flirting with Lola's fiancé! Shameless!"
"This is my home, and Phillipe is my fiancé," Abella said, raising her eyes lazily. "Aren't you Lola's best friends? Didn't she tell you?"
The young ladies were stunned for a moment, then sneered. "Your home? What a lie! I've never seen someone so shameless!"
"Everyone knows the Medici and Bourbon families have a marriage agreement. How dare you say Phillipe is your fiancé? Are you pretending the agreement doesn't exist?"
"The agreement still stands," a magnetic voice suddenly said from nearby.
The young ladies turned and saw it was Lola's brother, Steven, walking over with elegance.
"Steven, perfect timing. Someone here is shamelessly claiming this is her home! Please, judge."
"She also said Phillipe is her fiancé!"
"I've seen shameless people, but never someone this brazen. Throw her out!"
"No, she needs to learn the cost of lying!"
They thought Steven's arrival meant Abella was doomed and were ready to watch her fall.
Unexpectedly, Steven called out gently, "Abella."
Before they could react, Abella responded, "Steven, why are you here?"
"I heard something happened at home, so I came to check," Steven replied.
The young ladies were stunned, completely confused.
"What did you just say about my sister?" Steven asked coldly.
The girls were dumbfounded, "She, she, she is..."
"My sister, Abella Medici."
Hearing Abella's last name, the young ladies were shocked. 'How could this girl be Steven's sister? Isn't Lola the only daughter of the Medici family? When did they get another daughter? But Steven wouldn't lie. If it's true, Lola must know about her! But Lola never mentioned her. What's going on?'
"Vivian, did Lola ever mention anything to you?"
"Steven, you said this girl is your sister, so she is Lola's..."
"Sister," Steven confirmed, shocking the young ladies again.
Vivian asked reluctantly, "Does Lola know about her?"
"Yes," Steven said, shattering their last hope. "They live together and see each other every day."
"Then why did Lola say..." Vivian's voice trailed off.
The other young ladies were panicking, never expecting the truth to be like this.
Nothing beats a direct intro from a Medici.
Steven added, "Abella was lost for eighteen years and only found six months ago. We haven't announced her identity yet for certain reasons."
The young ladies were stunned, unable to believe this hidden truth.
"Although Lola isn't the Medici family's biological daughter, we've treated her like family for the past eighteen years. When Abella returned, with her consent, Lola stayed, and they call each other sisters."
Since Abella was born before Lola, she was the elder sister, and Lola was the younger one. But even without the birth order, Abella was the legitimate Medici daughter, making her the elder sister.
The young ladies were wide-eyed.
"Steven, is this true? Lola isn't the real Medici daughter?"
"So, this girl is?"
"But Lola never told us."
"She only said..."
"Said what?" Steven, already knowing most of it, wanted to hear them say it.
Vivian, deflated, finally spoke up, "If Abella is the real daughter, then the marriage agreement is hers, not Lola's. Lola knew this, so why did she say she didn't want Phillipe first?"
The young ladies couldn't believe Lola would lie like this. Was it just for vanity?
"She wasn't like this before. She was so pure and kind. How could she lie?"
"I still don't believe it."
"She said being with Phillipe would put her under constant scrutiny, and she didn't want that."
"She said Abella was just a new girlfriend Phillipe found to provoke her."
"Fake, it's all fake. Did Lola lie to me?"
"She lied to all of us!"
Phillipe had known Steven was home earlier. When the girls confronted Abella, both he and Steven had seen and heard everything.
Seeing things escalate, Phillipe walked over to Abella and put his hand on her waist. "There was never any romantic relationship between Lola and me. Before Abella returned, my contact with her was minimal. Even without Abella, I would never be with her."
Nothing was more shocking than Phillipe himself explaining the situation.
So, Lola's claims that Phillipe was deeply in love with her and unwilling to break up were all lies.
"So, she didn't threaten you with never seeing each other again to break up?" Vivian asked, still struggling to believe.
"I never dated her, so how could there be a breakup?" Phillipe replied.
With this final confirmation, the young ladies were utterly disheartened, never expecting Lola to be such a person.
They had known her for years and were best friends.
But Lola had lied to them!
