Chapter 551 Playing With Fire

"Alright, let's get started."

Seeing Abella so calm, the Stanford Innovation University captain's eyes narrowed. "Bring the stuff."

They expected Abella to freak out at the sight of the surgical knife and live rabbit.

But nope, she stayed cool as a cucumber, like she was above it all.

The Innovation University team thought she was just acting tough, probably scared inside but not showing it.

"Oh my God, dissecting a live rabbit? I'm gonna faint."

"This competition is brutal."

"This is way beyond what we learn at Medical University."

Freshmen, who'd only studied theory, had no hands-on dissection experience.

This competition seemed like a sure loss for Medical University.

"Using a knife to dissect a rabbit?" Abella asked, looking intrigued.

The Innovation University captain sneered. "Dissection needs a knife and hands-on practice. Scared? Too late! If you're scared, admit defeat, say your Medical University is inferior, and stop entering our competitions. Stay low."

Seeing their arrogance, Abella smirked. "Dissecting small animals is boring. Doesn't Innovation University have cadavers? Bring those."

The Innovation University team was stunned!

Even the audience was shocked!

Did Abella just say she wanted to dissect a cadaver instead of a rabbit?

It was chilling.

"If you're scared, admit defeat, say your Innovation University is inferior, and stop entering our competitions. Stay low," Abella repeated their words back to them.

The Innovation University captain turned pale. He and his teammate had only dissected small animals, never a cadaver.

Now they were being challenged by someone from Medical University.

"Captain, she's bluffing!"

"How could someone studying basic medical knowledge have ever held a surgical knife, let alone dissected a cadaver?"

"Even if she's brave, one cut and her lack of skill will show."

"Let's agree and see what she's got!"

The Innovation University captain looked at Abella's confident demeanor, torn between accepting the challenge and fearing the outcome.

"Are we competing or not?" Abella asked impatiently.

Her teammates were thrilled. Abella is so cool! Abella is awesome!

Only Abella could handle them.

The Innovation University captain, feeling cornered, asked, "How many people do you want to compete?"

Abella looked at each of them, her tone casual. "All of you, come at once."

This was too arrogant, and many Innovation University students in the audience wanted to see her fail.

"Alright, you said it." The Innovation University captain thought, 'There are four of us. How could we lose to a freshman who skips class?'

Soon, two cadavers were brought to the stage.

Covered with white sheets on gurneys, just the sight made many shudder, with some even leaving their seats.

These bodies, donated voluntarily, were frozen to -86°F within eight hours of death and then properly preserved.

When needed for teaching, they were thawed to 39.2°F to ensure freshness, allowing students to practice on real human bodies.

The cadavers had just been thawed. Abella looked at the audience and kindly reminded them, "If you're scared, you can leave now."

Many more people left, but some stayed, curious about Abella or wanting to see the competition's outcome.

Abella bowed to the cadaver, then lifted the white sheet off one of them.

Many in the audience screamed and left their seats.

After all, it was a real cadaver.

"The deceased was 5'9", early 30s, strong, with thick abdominal fat and well-developed muscles. No bullet holes in the back of his head, and his limbs are intact, so he wasn't executed or killed in a car accident." Abella remained expressionless, put on gloves, and made a clean incision with the surgical knife.

"The lungs have hard masses, filling the entire chest cavity, eroding the normal lungs and blood vessels, leaving only about one-third of the normal lung," Abella calmly concluded. "He died of lung cancer. Male students, quit smoking; it's bad for your health."

Not only the Innovation University team but all their students in the audience were shocked.

She was too calm, too professional!

With a fresh cadaver in front of her, she showed no fear and could rationally analyze the cause of death.

Even more unbelievable, she could dissect!

Her movements were skillful and proficient, like a seasoned surgeon.

A freshman from Medical University could dissect so well.

Abella then described some features of the deceased, stitched up the incision, and restored the cadaver to its original state.

Her suturing skills left people in awe, and two judges even stood up, as if they had seen the next medical genius!

"Your turn." Abella removed her gloves, disinfected her hands, and looked at the Innovation University team.

The Innovation University team seemed frozen, not moving. They had studied day and night, had private lessons from renowned doctors.

But now, they couldn't even compare to a Medical University student.

The Innovation University captain didn't know how long he had been stunned until the audience's urging shook him out of it.

His hands trembled as he lifted the white sheet off the other cadaver, and he was instantly so horrified by the disfigured body that he vomited on the spot.

The other three Innovation University team members, seeing the state of the cadaver, also bent over and vomited.

Many in the audience screamed.

Because this cadaver was truly terrifying!
