Chapter 1051 Spending Money to Buy Affection
Abella lifted her gaze and saw a young woman who radiated confidence and elegance, clearly from a wealthy family.
She was dressed in a limited-edition designer outfit, wearing a beret, and a pearl necklace that made her look even more graceful and captivating.
She sat down opposite Abella with a smug smile. "We need to talk."
Abella couldn't recall who this person was.
The girl introduced herself, "I'm Molly, a childhood friend of Phillipe."
Abella remembered now. Phillipe had mentioned a long time ago that the McCoy family had internal conflicts.
Molly, being the most cherished daughter, was sent to the Bourbon family for safety under the pretense that she was missing.
During that time, Andrew and Victoria were abroad, leaving only Phillipe and Molly at home. They didn't spend much time together before her family took her back once their issues were resolved.
But during the chaos in her family, Phillipe's presence gave her a sense of security, and it was natural for Molly to develop feelings for him.
Even though Phillipe had rejected her multiple times, Molly frequently messaged him. Out of respect for their families' friendship, Phillipe never blocked her but also never responded.
"I didn't expect to see you here. Let's cut to the chase." Molly pulled out a check from her bag and pushed it towards Abella. "I want you to leave Phillipe. You can fill in any amount; the McCoy family can afford it."
"You think you can buy my relationship with Phillipe?" Abella's smile was radiant and captivating.
Molly was taken aback by how beautiful Abella's smile was, even more stunning than in the trending photos. No wonder Phillipe was so smitten.
"I've known Phillipe since we were kids. No one knows him better than I do. I know all his likes and dislikes..."
"If you know him so well, you should know he hates you. Who gave you the nerve to sit here and talk toAbella like this? Did I invite you to my private room?" Rainey interrupted as she walked in, clearly displeased.
"Rainey?" Molly frowned, looking even more annoyed. "Why do you and Elara always meddle? This is between me and Abella. Who asked for your opinion?"
"Did you get my permission to talk to Abella in my private room? She's part of the Bourbon family. Do you think I don't have the right to intervene?" Rainey glanced at the check on the table, crossing her arms with a disdainful smile. "Trying to buy Phillipe and Abella's relationship with money? Phillipe's worth is in the billions. After marriage, his money will be managed by Abella. Are you suggesting Abella give up billions for your check? Can the McCoy family afford that? Who are you trying to fool with this piece of paper?"
Molly was furious.
"Abella's worth is way beyond yours! You have no right to flaunt your wealth in front of her. Elara told me you tried to seduce Phillipe at the Bourbon Group and got put in your place. Have you already forgotten that lesson?"
"Rainey!" Molly was livid. "What I do is none of your business! Don't forget, some of your parents' projects were facilitated by the McCoy family!"
"So what? They weren't for me. I'll say it one last time, get out. " Rainey dismissed her, "If you dare to go after Phillipe and Abella again, don't blame me for being rude!"
"What? You think you can stop me from liking someone? Who are you and Elara to interfere?" Molly stood up, sneering. "When I become Phillipe's wife, it'll be too late for you to try to please me!"
"With your looks, you think Phillipe would be interested? You've polluted the air here! Abella, let's find another room!"
Molly couldn't help but retort, "Rainey, you're just Lyric's daughter, not Victoria's. Stop pretending to be so close to Phillipe. You're just his cousin! The gap between your families is so obvious. You should be grateful I even acknowledge you. Who are you to act superior in front of me?"
Molly's words were meant to sting, "You should focus on improving yourself, maybe marry an old man to contribute to your family. Otherwise, you'll always be beneath Phillipe's family, like insignificant ants."
Suddenly, a sharp slap landed on Molly's face.
Molly was in disbelief, holding her left cheek. "Abella, you dare hit me?"
"So what?" Abella's eyes were cold. "Rainey told you to leave. Didn't you hear?"
Rainey, who had been on the verge of tears, was surprised by Abella's bold move.
"If you don't want to leave, let's settle this." Abella stepped closer to Molly. "You think you deserve my fiancé?"
Molly was furious. "Phillipe is mine. I'll make him say yes! You'll pay for this slap!"
Abella grabbed her by the throat. "Say that again."
"Abella..." Molly didn't expect this wild girl to be so uncouth, daring to choke her.
"Let go of me," Molly demanded through gritted teeth.
Abella tightened her grip. "What did you say? I didn't hear you. Say it again."
"You're crazy." Molly was struggling to breathe, shocked by Abella's audacity.
"If you don't speak, you might not get another chance."
"You, you..." Molly's face turned red as she tried to pry Abella's hand off, but Abella's slender wrist had an unexpected strength. Molly was in agony, finally conceding, "Let go... I didn't say anything."
"Are you sure?"
"I won't go after Phillipe."
Abella released her, and Molly fell to the ground, gasping for air as if she had just escaped death.
Rainey quickly handed Abella a wet wipe.
