Dennis's question left the secretary on the verge of tears, stammering, "N-no..."
"Then why are you shaking?"
His words terrified the secretary even more. Her hand trembled, and the coffee she was bringing to Louie spilled all over the carpet.
Dennis fell silent.

Gabriel, who had just pushed the door open, fell silent.
Phillipe, who had just stepped in, fell silent.
The secretary was so scared that she quickly grabbed some tissues to clean up the mess. She had barely started when she saw Phillipe and Gabriel enter, and she burst into tears. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Bourbon. I messed up..."
It was her fifth day as an intern, and she didn't want to lose her job over this.
Dennis observed the scene and thought, 'What kind of demon is Phillipe? He walks in and scares the secretary to tears. Is he always this harsh with young women?'

"You can go now," Gabriel said, coming to the rescue.
The secretary quickly bowed and apologized to everyone before hurrying out.
"Sorry about that, Mr. Medici, Mr. Potts. She's new. I'll bring fresh coffee in a moment. You guys go ahead and talk." Compared to the secretary's panic, Gabriel was much more composed. After he closed the door and left, Phillipe turned his gaze to Dennis. Before he could greet him, Dennis spoke first.
"Sit." Dennis's demeanor was that of a king, lounging casually on the sofa. "I'll get straight to the point. I have a sister who was lost and found six months ago. Do you know about this?"
Phillipe nodded calmly. "Yes."
"Then you should know you two are engaged?"
"Yes."
"Have you met before?"
"Yes."
"My sister is beautiful, incredibly smart, and exceptionally well-behaved. She's seen a lot of the world..." Dennis listed Abella's virtues in one breath. "And you..."
Phillipe had a bad feeling. Was Dennis here to say he wasn't good enough for Abella and wanted them to break up?
Dennis lounged on the sofa, scrutinizing Phillipe. "Barely acceptable."
He was tall, good-looking, and had a decent presence.
Even if he didn't have as many titles as Abella, managing the entire Bourbon Group empire was enough to match her.
"I want you to pursue Abella."
Phillipe was surprised. "Dennis, you want me to be with Abella?"
Dennis was a bit taken aback. Phillipe was quite sharp.
"Isn't it natural for you to pursue her? Our families are engaged. Besides, do you really think that fake Lola is worth your time?"
Before Phillipe could answer, Dennis continued, "Only Henry would be interested in her. Your taste can't be that bad."

"Being with Abella is a blessing for you." Dennis cut him off. "Abella is such a wonderful woman. You need to ask her out and show some real progress."
Phillipe was puzzled. Asking them out on a date? Was this really happening?
Dennis was the quickest among the Medici family to support Abella and him being together.
However, Phillipe felt the need to clarify something. "Dennis, you might be misunderstanding. Abella and I..."
"Just answer me this: do you have anyone else on the side?"
"No."
"Do you want to be with her?"
"Yes."
Of course, he did!
He wanted to be with Abella at all times.
"Can you surprise her, make her happy, and be attentive to her? Can you keep away from other women?"
"No problem."
"Good. I'll remember your words."
"But Dennis, there's something I need to explain. Abella and I..."
"No need to say more." Dennis interrupted. "Since you agree to this engagement, you must be loyal to Abella for life. You must cherish, respect, and accompany her. You have her WhatsApp, right? If not, I can give it to you."
He sounded a bit proud, because he had Abella's WhatsApp.
"I have it."
Dennis was a bit surprised. Even Phillipe had Abella's WhatsApp? If he had known, he would have asked Phillipe for it, and avoided being hassled by his family.
But since Abella had returned to the Medici family, it made sense for Phillipe, as her fiancé, to visit and exchange WhatsApp.
Thinking this, Dennis didn't dwell on it. "I just got back to the country and don't know the best places for a date. Do some research and send me the address before you take Abella out."
Phillipe realized Dennis intended to "supervise."
Louie was also surprised at how involved Dennis was.
With Dennis's personality, who would dare mistreat Abella.
Dennis got up just as Gabriel knocked and entered with a tray holding three cups of coffee.
"Mr. Medici, leaving already?" Gabriel asked.
Dennis grabbed a cup as he passed by, took a sip, and said, "By the way, Abella prefers lemon water over coffee. Don't take her to a café."
He put the coffee back on the tray and, as he reached the door, turned back with a stern warning, "I have only one sister. You better not let her down."
Gabriel was startled by Dennis's sudden change in demeanor.
"Don't worry, Dennis. If that day ever comes, my family will tear me apart before you even get the chance." Phillipe replied.
Dennis raised an eyebrow, knowing the Bourbon family might actually do that.
"And after they tear you apart, I'll finish the job. Remember that!" Dennis warned.
After Dennis left, Gabriel was puzzled. "Mr. Bourbon, what just happened..."
Why did Dennis suddenly come to warn Phillipe, and even threaten him?
"Leave us," Phillipe said, pulling out his phone to message Abella.
Abella was surprised when she heard what happened. "Dennis told me last night that my partner wasn't good enough for me, and today he's telling you to pursue me. So, who does he think my partner is?"
If not Phillipe, then who?
"You always have Sam and the others with you. Could Dennis have seen them and mistaken one of them for your boyfriend?"
Phillipe's words made Abella think it was possible. "Maybe he saw the surveillance footage from the abandoned building and thought Theo was my..."
So that was why he said Theo wasn't good enough for her.
