Chapter 646 Punishment
"You got tricked too, it's fine," Abella said, not blaming them but feeling sorry for Lola.
Lola had so many friends who cared about her, but she didn't appreciate them and instead deceived them.
She stomped all over their genuine feelings.
"Sorry, Steven, for today," Vivian apologized to Steven first, then turned to Phillipe. "Sorry, Mr. Bourbon, I misunderstood you and your fiancée. I sincerely apologize."
Phillipe saw their sincerity and nodded, not holding a grudge.
Before leaving, Vivian glanced at her former best friend Lola and walked away, disappointed.
Lola, still crying, hadn't expected everyone to abandon her.
Back at Medical University, Sierra and Riley distanced themselves from her once her lies were exposed.
She had also deceived her best friend Sophia before that.
Now, five more friends had cut ties with her.
She was left with no good friends.
"Apologize to Abella," Steven demanded coldly.
Lola looked up in disbelief at Steven, who had always been so loving but now seemed deeply disappointed and cold.
"Steven," Lola cried. Steven had never asked her to apologize to anyone before.
"No need," Abella interrupted calmly before Lola could speak. "I don't think you're genuinely sorry."
She looked at Phillipe. "Let's go, I'll see you out."
Lola was stunned as she watched Abella leave. 'Since when does this bitch dare to humiliate me in front of the family? Is Abella relying on being right and having Steven's support to do whatever she wants?'
"Steven, listen to me," Lola, still crying, tried to explain.
"Lola," Steven's voice was filled with disappointment. "Until you figure things out, don't come down for dinner tonight."
"Steven?" Lola was shocked. Steven had never been like this before. Just for this, he was going to make her skip dinner?
"Steven, listen to me," Lola pleaded.
"You care about your reputation, but Abella doesn't?" Steven looked at her coldly. "You smeared her in front of your friends. I warned you before, but you still haven't learned. I think you don't need your allowance this month either."
"Steven, I really realize my mistake now. Everyone knows Abella's identity! I've been punished too; I have no friends left." Lola cried, feeling pitiful.
"That's your own doing."
At that moment, Steven's phone rang. It was a call from the head of a top luxury brand, VON.
"Mr. Marshall," Steven answered. The caller mentioned they had released over ten new styles and asked if it was convenient to deliver them today.
Steven replied calmly, "No need. From today onwards, don't send any sizes suitable for Lola. It's not about the style; we just don't need them for now. I'll provide another person's size later. From now on, deliver each season's new styles to Long Island Manor according to her size. We'll schedule the time. Okay, goodbye."
Lola was in shock.
VON was a top-tier brand, on par with LV and Chanel. Their clothes, rich and elegant, weren't sold in stores but delivered directly to wealthy families for selection.
Regular rich girls couldn't even order their clothes. Thanks to Steven, VON gave her special treatment, sending her new styles each season before delivering the leftovers to others.
This made Lola the center of attention in her social circle, and she felt proud.
But now, Steven had canceled this privilege and was giving it to Abella.
"Steven, listen to me," Lola pleaded, truly anxious. She had lost her privileges, her allowance, and now had to go back to her room to reflect.
Before she could finish, Steven's phone rang again. After answering, he glanced at Lola. "I have to return to the company. We'll discuss this tonight."
Lola's heart sank, sensing more punishment awaited her.
"Lauren, take her back to her room to reflect," Steven instructed before leaving.
His words made Lola's heart sink even further.
"Ms. Lola Medici, please."
Lola's tears flowed immediately. Steven was treating her like a prisoner, ordering a servant to watch over her.
"Don't get too smug!" Lola suddenly shouted at Lauren before storming back to her room.
Lauren found it strange.
Back in her room, Lola lay on her bed and cried.
She remembered that summer when Steven had just returned home. She had made apples into crab shapes and pears into bird shapes for Steven.
Steven's first concern wasn't the fruit but her injured fingers. He had the servants bring a first aid kit and looked at her with concern.
Afterwards, Steven didn't mind her ugly fruit platter and even said she didn't need to do such things in the future. When he heard she had won first place in a piano competition, he asked what kind of reward she wanted.
Steven had been so good back then. Even when Abella had just returned home, Steven still treated Lola like a real sister.
When did things start to change?
Was it when Abella shone in the design competition, impressing Steven, who was one of the judges?
Probably, otherwise, why would Steven give Abella a perfect score?
If not then,
It must have been after the competition when Steven drove Abella home and let her sit in the front seat. From that moment, he started treating Abella differently.
Because not just Lola, but even Ethan, Winston, Dennis, and Blake had never sat in Steven's front seat.
Abella was the first exception.
But these were all trivial matters.
Lola wiped away her tears, remembering that when Steven had just returned home, he had publicly given Abella a four-leaf clover necklace worth five million dollars, but secretly gave her a black card with a gold border containing four hundred million dollars in cash!
