Chapter 658 Steven's Affection

"Don't worry, it's all in the past," Abella said, not wanting to waste time. She glanced at Steven.

Steven got the hint and kicked off the meeting.

With Abella there, the meeting was quieter than usual. People were nervous, wondering if she'd hold a grudge.

Everyone was on edge, speaking minimally during their reports, afraid to outshine Abella.

When it was Abella's turn, she listed the fashion company's recent successes, earning enthusiastic applause.

Her achievements were genuinely impressive, no need for anyone to fake it.

No one expected young Abella to elevate the fashion company so much.

After the applause, Steven added, "All these major achievements were directed by Ms. Medici through remote meetings. She deserves the most credit. Let's give her another round of applause."

The applause was even louder this time.

"Ms. Medici balances studies and work so well."

"At such a young age, her skills and business sense are outstanding. She's definitely a future talent."

"The Medici family really produces talents. Under Mr. Medici, the group has thrived. With Ms. Medici's help, it'll only get better."

"We look forward to Sunrise Group achieving even greater success."

The flattery bored Abella. Just a moment ago, they were all set to embarrass her. Now, they were praising her.

"Any other questions?" Steven asked. Seeing everyone shake their heads, he said, "Meeting adjourned."

Everyone got up and approached Abella one by one.

"Ms. Medici, I didn't get a chance to introduce myself earlier. I'm Brittany Adams, head of Sunrise Natural Spring Water Company in Empire Vista City."

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Adams," Abella said, shaking her hand.

"I'm Wendy Collins, head of Sunrise Group's furniture company in Empire Vista City."

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Collins," Abella nodded and shook her hand.

"My name is Cara Gray, head of Sunrise Group's cosmetics company in Empire Vista City. Pleasure to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Gray," Abella said politely, shaking her hand.

After meeting a bunch of people, Abella said, "Thanks for the warm welcome. I have some matters to attend to, let's chat next time."

The crowd finally dispersed, bidding her farewell.

After everyone left, Steven invited Abella to rest in his office.

Walking to the office, Abella asked, "Steven, when did I agree to take over more than half of the group's business? Was this a spur-of-the-moment decision or planned?"

Steven smiled gently. "At first, seeing you manage the fashion company so well, I thought of giving you more responsibility. Later, I saw you handling several groups efficiently, so I figured one more wouldn't hurt. You have the capability, and I trust you."

So, Steven didn't feel bad about her juggling so many groups; he actually thought she could handle more. Should she be happy or sad?

"Also, the family plans to announce your identity on Easter," Steven said gently in the elevator.

"Oh." Abella's reaction was calm, like she already knew, her expression unruffled.

Steven was a bit surprised. Did Abella not want the world to know her identity, or had she been expecting it for so long that the excitement wore off?

"This was the family's fault. We were worried about Grandparents' health and the influx of relatives and friends disturbing you, so we didn't announce it," Steven explained.

Abella wasn't thinking about that. The forces behind the scenes hadn't been completely dealt with, and Easter was less than a month away.

"What are you thinking about, Abella?" Steven asked, seeing her deep in thought.

"Nothing." Abella withdrew her gaze. She had to face the troubles caused by those forces head-on. Winston was surely speeding up the process on his end too.

The elevator doors opened, and Abella followed Steven down the corridor. The corridor was spacious and bright, showcasing the Medici family's grandeur. Every corner and decoration reflected their wealth and refined taste.

Steven opened the office door, letting Abella in first.

Patrick stood at the door and respectfully said, "Ms. Medici, I'll make you a cup of coffee. Mr. Medici prepared a lot of coffee beans, and if you don't come soon, they'll expire! Also, Mr. Medici wanted to pick you up before the meeting, but when he got to the garage, he saw your car was already there."

Steven didn't expect Patrick to be so chatty today. He glanced at him, and Patrick immediately suppressed his smile.

"Steven, you came to pick me up?" Abella looked up and said, "I know the way, no need to pick me up."

"I had some free time and thought it was your first day at the group." Steven gestured for her to come over. "Sit here."

Abella sat on the couch, observing Steven's office. It was grand, steady, and low-key, much like Steven's personality.

This office was even bigger and more stylish than her office at Lady.

"There are also your favorite snacks here." Steven suddenly got up to get them. "See which one you want, I'll open it for you."

"I'll do it myself." Abella didn't expect Steven to prepare so many of her favorite snacks. She remembered the last time she went to Phillipe's office, he also had a cabinet full of snacks waiting for her.

'It seems Steven is also looking forward to me coming.' Thinking of this, her gaze softened. She opened a package, ate one, and then handed it over. "Steven, try it."

Steven never ate snacks, but seeing Abella's eyes on him, he reached out and took one, his gaze full of affection.

"How is the Wren family doing?" Steven asked, "When you went, were Mr. and Mrs. Wren feeling any better?"

"They lost their only daughter and haven't come out of their grief yet. During this time, Mrs. Wren fainted several times, and Mr. Wren almost collapsed," Abella said truthfully.

"What's the situation with Winston?" Steven asked, "I've heard some things about his situation, but not in detail. Winston hasn't told me much. I heard you went to Sunhavenia with him recently."
