Chapter 908 Driven Mad

Lola had always put on a show in front of everyone, pretending to adore and respect Abella.

But it was all a lie!

Behind closed doors, she bullied Abella relentlessly.

Who knew how much Abella had suffered at her hands?

"And another thing," Bonnie's gaze shifted to them, "back when we were all together, Lola would even fight Abella for breakfast."

Beckett and Kimberly were stunned into silence, never expecting that Lola could be so petty.

"The chef knew she didn't like breakfast, so he didn't make any for her. She was clearly unhappy, making snide remarks. Anyone who didn't know better would think Abella had taken her favorite food, leaving her with nothing to eat. But how could I not have someone prepare breakfast for her?"

The table was filled with all sorts of delicious food, yet Lola insisted on fighting Abella for it.

She was truly awful!

"And then, Lola dragged Dad out for a walk in freezing weather just to take pictures for her Stories, to show her friends how loved she was at home and how great her relationship with the family was."

Bonnie's gaze fell on them again, speaking slowly and deliberately, "She pulled Dad down, and afraid people would find out, she warned the servants not to say anything. She took it upon herself to apply medicine to Dad, and when his clothes got wet, she didn't change them in time."

Bonnie took a sip of tea and continued, "When Abella found out, she was furious. They had a big fight. I heard Lola say that even though her living conditions hadn't worsened, they were still less than Abella's. She felt the family gave Abella more and better things, so she was resentful."

Beckett and Kimberly were dumbfounded, unable to believe Lola could be like this.

She was living a life of luxury, just like before, yet she wasn't grateful and had the nerve to say such things to Abella!

How could she say that?

"In Lola's mind, if you gave Abella a purse, she should get the exact same one. But in reality, you had hundreds of custom-made clothes for Abella, yet none for her."

Kimberly couldn't help but protest, "But over the past eighteen years, haven't we bought her enough clothes? If we count them, she probably has more than Abella."

"But she thinks you're biased. She hates Abella and feels you treated her unfairly."

Kimberly looked at Beckett, unable to accept that after raising her for eighteen years, they had raised someone so ungrateful and unappreciative!

Beckett felt the same anger and disappointment. Lola had changed, becoming unrecognizable.

"After that fight with Abella, I talked to her. She promised me she would change... but then." Bonnie pressed a small remote.

The screen showed Henry and Phillipe fighting at her doorstep. Beckett and Kimberly were stunned.

"For the past six months, Lola hid Abella's existence from Henry, so he didn't know about Abella or that Lola was the Medici family's adopted daughter."

"What did you say?" Beckett and Kimberly were both shocked.

"Lola lied to Henry, saying Phillipe was fickle and deliberately brought Abella around to hurt her. She claimed Phillipe and Abella would show up wherever she and Henry were, trying to outdo them. So Henry, angry, attacked Phillipe when he saw him at my house."

"Phillipe would never be so childish," Beckett was furious, "How could Lola do this..."

Lying had become second nature to her!

"She even lied to her friend Sophia, saying Abella ruined her engagement with Phillipe. We thought she would change, but she kept repeating the same tricks, even deceiving Henry..." Kimberly was in turmoil, unable to calm down.

"Phillipe genuinely loves Abella. It's not an act. What everyone sees is real love," Beckett defended.

"Absolutely, Phillipe treats Abella very well," Bonnie agreed, "He always protects her. That time, Phillipe told Henry directly that before Henry showed up, he had barely seen Lola. He was planning to break off the engagement, but changed his mind after meeting Abella."

"You mean..." Kimberly was wide-eyed, realizing that when Phillipe brought all those gifts, it wasn't to visit his fiancée but to break off the engagement with Lola.

She and Beckett had thought he had heard about Abella's return and brought gifts to meet his real fiancée.

But it turned out...

"No wonder Phillipe rarely visited before, but after Abella came back, he was here all the time..."

It was because of Abella that the engagement continued.

If Abella hadn't returned, if Lola were their biological daughter, he wouldn't have chosen Lola, no matter the family ties. He just didn't like Lola!

"Henry must have been disappointed with Lola's actions and broken up with her, right?" Beckett speculated regretfully, thinking Henry was a good kid.

But such a good kid didn't deserve Lola.

Even he, who had been a father for eighteen years, felt heartbroken and disappointed hearing about Lola's actions.

How could an outsider feel any different?

"Actually, no," Bonnie explained, "Henry still liked her, but she didn't cherish it. She even had someone drug Abella's lemonade."

"What did you say??" Beckett and Kimberly were both shocked, staring at Bonnie, speechless.

Bonnie revealed what she knew, "We were all in Verdania, having dinner together. Abella must have suspected something was wrong with the lemonade and insistedthat  Lola drink it. I saw Lola hesitate for a long time, clearly afraid to drink it. I suspected the lemonade was indeed tampered with. Finally, Lola had no choice and drank it. Not long after, she had diarrhea, hallucinations, and even confessed her love to Phillipe, throwing herself at him. She mistook me for Abella several times and tried to attack me."
