Chapter 728 Full of Love

Meanwhile, Henry was cruising around with Lola, trying to shake off this weird dream-like vibe.

Just a bit ago, Lola had texted him: [Let's go out and have some fun.]

At first, Henry thought he was seeing things. He had to read that message like a million times before it finally sank in.

This was the first time Lola had ever asked him out!

And it was the first time she’d responded after he’d been crushing on her forever.

"Lola, where do you wanna go?" Henry asked, trying to sound casual as she chilled in the passenger seat.

Lola just shrugged, looking totally uninterested. "Anywhere's fine."

She was just sick of hanging out at Caleb's place and needed something to kill time.

"Not feeling it?" Henry picked up on her mood. "Something bugging you? Someone tick you off? Or...?"

Lola didn't feel like talking, and Henry didn't push it. He just suggested softly, "How about we hit up SereneVista Haven to check out the lavender?"

Lola flashed back to when Kimberly thought she was up to no good with Phillipe. Maria had covered for her, saying Lola had a boyfriend.

To keep the lie going, Lola had hinted to Henry about a new movie she wanted to see.

Henry was busy with work in Verdania, but he dropped everything and flew back when he got her hint.

He even asked her over the phone if she liked Verdania and promised to take her to see the lavender there someday. But Lola had just been non-committal, saying, "We'll see."

Now, Henry brought up the lavender again, catching Lola off guard. She looked at him. "You still remember?"

"I said I'd take you someday," Henry said, remembering his promise.

But Lola's eyes dimmed a bit. 'If only Phillipe treated me like this, how awesome would that be.'

At the SereneVista Haven lavender fields, after getting out of the car, Henry just lightly tugged at Lola's sleeve, not daring to hold her hand, worried she might not like it.

Even though he was being super considerate, Lola still felt a bit put off, though she didn't show it.

As they reached the entrance, a security guard stopped them. "Sorry, the place is booked for a private event today."

Lola was a bit taken aback. Such a huge lavender field, and it was booked just like that?

She peeked inside and saw a bunch of bodyguards. The whole field had just one couple, and from their silhouettes, it was Phillipe and Abella!

Especially Abella, who was rocking the same outfit from the morning!

Lola's expression changed instantly. 'How could they be here on a date?'

At that moment, a few photographers rushed over, talking about photo setups.

Booking such a massive lavender field just for photos?

Henry started chatting with the security guard in Verdania's language, asking if they could make an exception. He offered to pay the same booking fee and promised they'd only use a small part of the field. He just wanted to take his girlfriend for a stroll.

The guard explained it wasn't possible because the person who booked the field was a big deal, and they couldn't risk offending them.

Henry didn't want to give up and kept negotiating.

Lola then heard Phillipe's voice over the loudspeaker. "Abella, the next piano piece is one I composed for you. Even though I've said it a million times, right now, I still want to tell you, I like you."

Lola was totally floored, unable to wrap her head around Phillipe saying all that and even composing a piece for Abella.

This was so not like him!

"I like you so much that I wanna shout it from the rooftops, but I'm scared too many people will see how awesome you are and try to steal you away. Abella, I like you, and I want you by my side every single day from now on."

The soft piano music flowed through the lavender fields.

It was pre-recorded by Phillipe.

Abella's eyes sparkled with joy. "Didn't you already compose a piece for me before? Why another one?"

"I feel so happy when I'm with you that I wanna capture that feeling," Phillipe said, lowering his head and gently caressing her face. "Can you feel what I'm feeling?"

Abella nodded and couldn't help but laugh. "I can feel it, but it's kinda over-the-top."

"It's just us here, no other visitors." Phillipe laughed too. "You haven't told me what you think of this piece yet."

"It's pretty good." Abella smiled.

"What do you hear in it? The excitement of a crush? Or the longing of missing someone?"

"It's your overflowing love."

Henry knew someone inside was making a love confession. Seeing that he couldn't convince the guard, he didn't want to push it and looked at Lola. "Wanna go somewhere else?"

Lola looked at Phillipe and Abella kissing in the distance, feeling a mix of frustration and silence.

Henry didn't want to let her down and kept negotiating with the guard, asking if he could talk to the person who booked the field. He offered to pay double the price or meet any other requirements they had, as long as he could make it happen.

The guard, seeing his sincerity, went to ask the head bodyguard.

The head bodyguard couldn't make the call either and had to run to the middle of the field. After they finished kissing, he asked, "Mr. Bourbon, someone wants to bring his girlfriend in. The guard at the entrance said it's a couple from Libertya, willing to pay double and promise not to disturb you."

"Let them in. We haven't been here long anyway." Abella looked up at Phillipe, her hands still around his waist. "We're going somewhere else soon, right?"

"Since my fiancée agreed, I'll go with her decision." Phillipe looked at Abella lovingly and kissed her. "I also prepared a hot air balloon."

"Did you get that idea from online guides or come up with it yourself?"

"Both," Phillipe said, watching her reaction. "Is it not romantic enough?"

Abella laughed. "As long as you prepared it, I love it."

The head bodyguard conveyed the message to the guard, who then told Henry.

Henry was thrilled. "Lola, we can finally go in."

Lola watched Phillipe and Abella ascend in the hot air balloon and saw many photographers snapping pics of them.

Henry noticed the envy and sadness in her eyes and gently asked, "Do you wanna ride the hot air balloon or take pictures?"

Lola rolled her eyes internally. She didn't want to ride the hot air balloon or take pictures with him. She said irritably, "Can't you think of something else? Why do you always copy other people's ideas?"

Henry didn't get why she suddenly got mad and gently coaxed, "What do you want?"

Whatever she wanted, he would make it happen.

But Lola gave him a cold look. "What's the point if I come up with it myself? Look at other people's boyfriends: booking the whole place, composing music, confessing, riding a hot air balloon, and hiring so many photographers."
