Chapter 1057 Introduction to Resources

"Idiot!" Ryder smacked Molly on the shoulder, careful not to hit her face in front of all the guests.

"What nonsense are you talking about? The Bourbon brothers are family, and you think you can stir up trouble here? And what's this about trying to buy Abella and Phillipe's affection? Are you trying to mess with their relationship?" Ryder's angry voice drew the attention of many guests, and Molly felt utterly humiliated.

Growing up, Ryder had never even raised his voice at her, let alone hit her!

Now, for Abella's sake, he was disregarding the McCoy family's reputation entirely.

"Dad, can you keep it down?" Molly could feel everyone's eyes on her.

"Now you care about saving face? Where was that concern before? I sent you abroad to study and gain skills, not to learn how to ruin other people's relationships! The Bourbon family and the Medici family have an engagement, and you want to interfere? Are you out of your mind?"

"Dad!" Molly was frantic. Ryder's voice was so loud that all the guests could hear. She wished she could disappear.

Ryder, still fuming, made a phone call. "Come over and take Molly home."

He hung up and glared at Molly. "Just wait until we get home. I'll deal with you then!"

"Dad, she hit me too!" Molly was about to mention the injuries on her face and neck from the previous night, caused by Abella.

But Ryder cut her off angrily, "Didn't you deserve it? You tried to break up their relationship and stir up trouble between the Bourbon brothers. You're lucky she didn't break your bones!"

He then turned apologetically to Abella. "Abella, I'm truly sorry. I failed to raise my child properly and made you handle it yourself."

He had assumed the injuries on Molly's face and neck were from a man, not realizing they were from Abella.

He had seen Abella deal with troublemakers before, and she was fierce. She had clearly held back with Molly.

"You should be grateful she didn't do worse! Now, apologize to Abella, Phillipe, and Rainey!" Ryder hissed at Molly.

"Dad..." Molly had never been so humiliated in her life.

"No need," Abella and the others said in unison, seemingly unconcerned with formalities.

Ryder, full of remorse, turned to Abella again. "Thank you for showing mercy last night, Abella. I'll take her home and deal with her."

"Mr. McCoy, don't get too upset. It's not good for your health," Abella said, knowing how he handled things. Molly was in for a stern punishment when they got home.

At that moment, a bodyguard appeared and extended his hand. "Ms. McCoy, please."

Molly, utterly humiliated, lowered her head and followed him out.

"I once again apologize to you. I'm truly sorry," Ryder said, bowing repeatedly. "I promise to teach Molly properly and never let her embarrass us again."

Abella nodded, knowing he meant what he said.

He wasn't doing this to repay her past kindness but because the McCoy family's values and upbringing wouldn't tolerate such behavior.

"I'll take my leave now. I'll invite you, Phillipe, and Rainey for a meal another day to properly express my apologies," Ryder said, bowing again before leaving.

"Abella, what happened?" Kimberly approached, watching Ryder's retreating figure and then looking at her daughter.

"Nothing," Abella replied, not wanting to worry Kimberly.

"I was just talking to a gemstone supplier over there. He's been a long-time partner of the Medici family. Many of our jewelry brand's materials come from him. I'll introduce you. You might have a chance to collaborate in the future."

Kimberly knew Abella was the founder of QY, which dealt in both clothing and jewelry.

"Sure."

Abella turned to Phillipe. "I'll be right back."

Phillipe nodded. "Okay."

Abella followed Kimberly to a blonde man. When he saw her, he greeted her warmly. "Ms. Medici, long time no see. I was surprised to learn you were the Medici family's daughter when I saw the news."

Kimberly was surprised. "You two know each other?"

"We've worked together a few times," The blonde man said, smiling at Abella and then at Kimberly. "Mrs. Medici, your daughter is incredibly talented and capable."

Abella smiled and explained, "His goods are excellent. I've sourced from him a few times."

Kimberly hadn't realized that the resource she wanted to introduce to Abella was already known to her.

After a brief chat, Kimberly introduced Abella to other resources.

Meanwhile, a nurse administered medication to Lola to ease her condition.

Seeing Lola weakly lying on the hospital bed, Henry held her hand, heartbroken. "Lola, other doctors are on their way. They'll find a way to help you."

"What's wrong with me?" Lola's eyes welled with tears. "Why?"

Why did she have to be in the ICU for no apparent reason?

Henry was deeply troubled, unable to answer her question.

He couldn't understand why a girl who was smiling just moments ago now had such abnormal health indicators.

None of the doctors, not even the specialists brought in, could determine the cause of her illness.

The TV was still broadcasting the evening's ball.

Henry and Lola saw a photo of Phillipe and Abella dancing at the ball.

Though it was just one photo, their graceful posture and expressions were enviable, and the surrounding guests were applauding.

Lola's eyes filled with tears.

Why did she have to suffer here while Abella could wear a gorgeous gown and dance with the world's most outstanding man?

In previous years, it was Lola who attended the balls. Even though Phillipe didn't go, she could wear high-end fashion and limited-edition jewelry, dancing with elite professionals from various fields. She was so glamorous and popular back then.

After each dance, many people wanted her contact information.

The more she withheld it, the more they wanted it.

She had been so dazzling.

But now, it was Abella standing in the spotlight, enjoying the highest honor in her place.

Henry noticed her sadness and offered, "I'll turn off the TV."

Lola shook her head. She wanted to watch!

She wanted to remember Abella's moment of glory!

She wanted to remember everyone who had trampled on her!
