Chapter 848 Suspected Romance

"You're not as brave as the young ones anymore." Dennis's tone scared the club manager out of his wits, leaving him on the verge of tears. "Mr. Dennis Medici, you're absolutely right. I'll resign and retire to the countryside."

"Did I say you could leave?"

"I..." The club manager was at a loss for words.

Dennis leaned in slightly, a casual smile playing on his lips. "If you let someone in again, I'll throw you off this fifth floor."

Though his tone was teasing, the club manager was so frightened he nearly had a heart attack, repeatedly promising there wouldn't be a next time.

Dennis swept the gift off the table onto the floor without a glance and downed the remaining drink in one gulp.

To get Steven to help her deliver a gift? It seemed his sister was no simple character.

Seeing Dennis about to leave, the club manager hurriedly said, "Mr. Dennis Medici, you forgot your stuff."

Dennis glanced at the painting the manager picked up from the floor and looked away disdainfully. "I don't want it."

The club manager was stunned. This was something Steven personally delivered, yet Dennis didn't want it.

As Dennis walked out of the private room, many women saw him and wanted to strike up a conversation but lacked the courage. They knew Dennis was unpredictable, and even if they had thoughts, they could only keep them to themselves.

Assistant Louie Potts saw him exit the club and immediately drove up, respectfully opening the car door for him. "Mr. Dennis Medici."

'So early today? This wasn't like Mr. Dennis Medici at all.' Louie thought.

The party was disrupted by Steven, and Dennis lazily said, "Let's go somewhere else."

"Kentucky Club?" Louie glanced at the rearview mirror, gauging his expression, then changed his suggestion. "Valley Hot Spring Club?"

Valley was a hot spring paradise that Dennis had bought years ago. The outdoor hot spring pools were surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees year-round, with distant mountains in the background. In winter, you could even see snow-capped peaks.

The indoor hot spring pools also offered exquisite views outside, making either option a superb experience.

"What for?" Dennis was uninterested.

Louie didn't dare upset him further and paused before saying, "Then I'll take you back to your place."

Seeing Dennis remain silent, Louie drove towards his residence, cautiously reporting, "The guy in the basement only confessed a little. He admitted to being involved in the incident years ago but claimed he didn't know the specific purpose or the mastermind behind it."

"That's what you call a confession?" Dennis sneered, seemingly disdainful. "Looks like he hasn't been beaten hard enough. Get some stronger guys to give him a good beating."

"Yes." Louie had been with Dennis for years, but every time he heard Dennis's nonchalant, careless tone, it sent chills down his spine.

Seeing Dennis remain silent, Louie continued to report, "Also, some board members are saying you're too capricious, making the entire industry's economy chaotic. They say whether they can make money depends entirely on your mood."

"When did my business become anyone else's concern? He's almost dead and still doesn't know how to make more money for his descendants." Dennis mocked.

"I agree he needs a lesson." Louie glanced at the rearview mirror. "I'll handle it and won't cause you any trouble."

"When have I ever been afraid of trouble?"

Louie shrank his neck in fear. "One more thing, Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici have called me multiple times, asking when you'll come home."

Dennis didn't expect this Abella could make their parents call him incessantly over the past six months.

Even Steven came to Britonia on a business trip just to persuade him to go home.

"Because you're investigating those..." Louie stopped mid-sentence, sensing Dennis's cold gaze. He quickly corrected himself, "I mean, because those matters are inconvenient to discuss with Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici, and you have injuries and many things that require your personal attention, I only told them you'd return once you're done."

Dennis smiled playfully, thinking, 'This Abella must be quite adept at scheming, even managing to get along with the most difficult Steven, making him come all the way to deliver something for her.'

Dennis's lips curled slightly, seemingly disdainful of Abella's little schemes.

"Where is she?" Dennis asked.

Louie immediately understood and reported, "She has a competition in the next couple of days and should make an appearance."

"Should?" Dennis's raised tone was exceptionally pleasant.

"I believe she will definitely show up."

Seeing Dennis's smile, Louie secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, he didn't say anything wrong; otherwise, he wouldn't have a chance to enjoy Easter.

Early the next morning, Abella had just woken up when she received a message from Phillipe.

Phillipe: [Something came up, and I need to go to Italiara for about two days. I'll message you when I arrive. Get some rest and don't worry.]

Abella was about to reply when she received a message from her subordinate.

The subordinate: [Ms. Medici, a royal princess wants to commission a custom dress from you. Are you available? It requires a trip abroad. She specifically requested you to take her measurements in Britonia, and the payment is negotiable.]

Abella: [When?]

The subordinate: [As soon as possible. Also, our lab is missing a certain drug, which also requires a trip to Britonia.]

Abella: [Then arrange a flight for me this afternoon.]

The subordinate: [Got it!]

Abella sent a message to Phillipe, briefly explaining the situation, then went downstairs for breakfast.

There were eight days left until Easter.

"Absolutely ridiculous! Outrageous!"

"What is this nonsense? Blake and Abella are clearly siblings, but they're making me doubt they're really in love."

"These people have such wild imaginations. Can't they just be siblings, plain and simple?"

Seeing her parents so agitated, Abella couldn't help but ask, "What's going on?"

"Abella, you're here." Kimberly quickly put away her phone and served her some porridge. "It's nothing, just some netizens speculating that you and Blake might be in a relationship. There's a whole bunch of people online hoping you two get together."

Abella sat down, puzzled as to why netizens were discussing her and her brother again.

"They found out that the dress you wore on stage at your concert was from the same brand as Blake's suit."

"That's right," Abella said truthfully while eating breakfast. "I was wearing one of Blake's backup suits."

The suits were all custom-made by the same brand, not something she brought herself.

But the netizens probably didn't know the details.

"When you sat down to play the piano, some netizens noticed you didn't change your shoes, and they matched Blake's."

Abella didn't expect such a small detail to be noticed. Seeing the photo Kimberly handed over, Abella saw that when she sat on the piano bench, only a tiny bit of her shoes were visible, yet it was still spotted.
