Chapter 555 Just Crawled Out of the Trash Heap?

Abella pulled out her phone and hacked into the nearby surveillance. She saw the footage from 15 minutes ago had been tampered with. Josie and Bella must've been taken during that time.

"Abella, what do we do? Call the police?" Joanna asked, worried. "What if they're really in danger?"

The other students were uneasy too. Two people disappearing suddenly was alarming. Could it be someone from Innovation University?

Abella noticed a flashing blue dot outside the window. It wasn't very noticeable due to the lighting.

She turned to the group, "You guys go look somewhere else first."

The fewer people involved, the better.

"Maybe Bella just forgot her purse after washing her hands."

"Or Josie didn't realize she dropped her keychain."

"Yeah, let's look elsewhere first. Maybe their phones died, or they're in a place with bad signal. Let's not scare ourselves."

"Or they might've gone to the auditorium to watch the game. Let's split up and search!"

They quickly decided on their routes and split up to look for them.

After they left, Abella jumped onto the window ledge and grabbed the object stuck outside. It was a black crescent-shaped bracelet.

"Put this on and come to the top of Thunder Mountain within half an hour, or we'll kill your friends."

Abella's eyes darkened. "What kind of skill is it to capture two defenseless people?"

"If I didn't, how would you obediently surrender?" A cold, mechanical voice came from the bracelet. "Meddling comes with a price. If you dare to call for help, I'll cut off one of their fingers for each person you bring. I don't mind dismembering them."

Abella's eyes grew even darker. She took out her phone and had just turned on the screen when she heard Bella's scream from the bracelet.

"Stop!" Abella shouted.

"I told you, no calling for help. Did you think I was joking?" The man's voice carried authority.

Abella realized the bracelet must have a camera. She calmly lied, "I just wanted to tell my classmates to stop looking and go back to school. You heard them earlier; they were thinking of calling the police."

The man didn't believe her. "Don't play tricks with me. Put on the bracelet and come to the designated place within half an hour."

Abella had no choice but to put it on.

At that moment, there was a sound at the bathroom door. Abella looked up to see a frightened Joanna.

"Abella, I..." Joanna had come back to find Abella and overheard the conversation.

"Kill her," the man in the bracelet ordered.

Joanna was even more scared. 'What is Abella involved in? This sounds terrifying.'

"She came at the right time," Abella said calmly, "Aren't you worried I'll call for help? Let my classmate pass on the message."

Abella then looked at Joanna. "Go tell the others to stop looking. I'll bring them back. Remember, don't say anything unnecessary."

"Why should I trust her?" the man in the bracelet said coldly. "Who knows if she'll call for help?"

"She's just a regular student. What kind of help could she bring? Besides, she won't act recklessly with my life on the line."

Abella hugged Joanna. "Don't be scared. I'll bring them back safely. Go back to school and wait for us."

Joanna, still in shock and with tears in her eyes, was comforted by the hug. It snapped her out of her daze. She nodded. "I won't say anything. Please be safe."

"Okay." Abella patted her shoulder. "Go."

"If you try anything, everyone around you, including you, will suffer," the man in the bracelet warned again.

"I won't say anything. I always keep my word. I won't call the police or tell anyone. Just don't hurt my friends or Abella," Joanna said.

"You're in no position to negotiate," the man in the bracelet replied, then reminded Abella, "You have 24 minutes left."

"You should go back now." Abella waited for Joanna to leave before walking out of the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Lola was changing into a new dress in another bathroom. Seeing Abella, she quickly walked over.

Abella saw her and chose another path.

But Lola ran after her. "I need to talk to you."

"I don't have time."

Seeing Abella continue walking without even looking at her, Lola blocked her way.

"I want to ask you, do you have two concert tickets?"

"What's it to you?" Abella was cautious, not wanting to say too much and be overheard by the person on the other end of the bracelet.

If people knew about their relationship, it could involve Blake and the others.

But Lola persisted. "Feeling guilty? So you do have the concert tickets? I need them. Give them to me."

Abella was puzzled. "Why should I?"

"Because I always let you have your way. You can go to concerts anytime, but my friend is really looking forward to this one. Do a good deed and give them to me."

Abella was speechless and walked straight ahead without even looking at her.

"Abella!" Lola called after her, unable to hold back. "You already have so much. Can't you even give me two tickets?"

Abella wanted to curse her out but thought better of it. Their conversation would definitely be overheard by the person on the other end of the bracelet. She decided to ignore her and kept walking.

"Stop!" Lola, having just been humiliated by Elsa, was looking for someone to vent her anger on. Seeing Abella's attitude made her even angrier.

'Why should Abella, who grew up as a lower-class person in the Wilson family, ignore me like this?' she thought.

She stepped forward to grab Abella's hand.

As Lola got closer, Abella suddenly smelled something foul. She stepped aside slightly and raised an eyebrow. "Did you just crawl out of a trash heap?"

Lola was stunned. 'Is the smell that bad? I have already changed into a new dress! Is there still a smell?'

"Really from the trash heap?"

"You!" Lola sniffed her arm. It did smell a bit. Strange, she had just washed.
