Chapter 754 Sobered Up
"It won't. Besides, letting it out is way better than popping pills. At least it won't mess up her body, and we won't have to deal with recovery later," Abella said, keeping it real.
"Easy peasy. Just lock her in a room and let her go nuts. Lock the doors and windows," Bonnie shot back, "Tie her to the bed, and we'll check on her tomorrow."
The servants were shook.
They had no better plan. Instead of hunting for meds they might not even find, they decided to roll with this.
Sucks for the room, though.
David and Vanessa scoped out the bedroom. Luckily, no dangerous or pricey stuff around.
"Abella, you witch, what crazy idea have you cooked up now? I'm gonna rip your mouth apart." Lola suddenly broke free and lunged at Bonnie.
In her eyes, Bonnie was Abella.
She tried to claw at Bonnie's face with her long nails.
But Bonnie blocked her, grabbed her back, and yanked a tie from the wardrobe, strapping her to the bed.
The servants were blown away by Bonnie's quick moves.
"Let's bounce," Bonnie said, clapping her hands after securing Lola, ready to dip.
"Abella, you won't die a good death, you witch. I curse you," Lola yelled from the bed, but Bonnie pulled out another tie and gagged her.
Now, no matter how much Lola cursed, it was pointless.
As they left Lola's room, Vanessa sighed, "Good thing Abella said there's no life-threatening danger. We'll check on her tomorrow."
On their way back to their room, Vanessa couldn't help but say, "I wonder if Lola's talking trash because of the drug or if she's always been this hostile towards Abella."
David replied, "Lola grew up with us. She's not bad at heart. Abella said the drug's worst effect is hallucinations. Her actions are out of her control."
"Let's hope so," Vanessa said, feeling a weird heaviness.
"Bonnie, you know something?" Caleb couldn't help but ask Bonnie on their way back. "What's up with that lemonade?"
Bonnie explained, "Abella thought there was something off with tonight's lemonade, so she gave it to Lola. I saw Lola hesitating, scared to drink it. I wanted to know if there was something wrong with the water, if Lola had spiked it to hurt Abella, but Abella saw through it. Didn't expect the water to be drugged and so strong."
"Are you saying Lola drugged Abella?" Caleb was floored.
For the past eighteen years, Lola had always been the sweet, considerate kid in their eyes.
It wasn't just old memories; every interaction over those eighteen years showed Lola's genuine innocence and kindness.
Now, Bonnie was saying she might've spiked the lemonade to hurt Abella? Was it a moment of confusion or long-held resentment?
Bonnie added, "Abella isn't someone who forces others. The fact that she made Lola drink that lemonade tonight says a lot."
From what Bonnie knew of Abella, she wasn't that kind of person.
Bonnie guessed that Abella didn't have solid proof that Lola had spiked her drink, so she didn't bring it up in front of everyone.
Now that Lola had chugged the lemonade, even if the restaurant hadn't cleaned and disinfected the cup, the tiny residue wouldn't be enough to test. Even Abella, with her Medical Authority title, could only smell regular lemonade.
Abella also mentioned that whoever made the drug was pretty skilled.
"I'll have someone check the market for this drug, see who bought it. We can trace it back to the source," Bonnie said, pulling out her phone to text her crew.
"I'll have someone grill the restaurant staff, see if there's an insider or if anyone sketchy got into the kitchen," Caleb said, also whipping out his phone to give orders.
Back in her room, Abella also grabbed her phone and instructed, "Check the black market for a drug that causes crazy gas, stomach pain, can't poop, then diarrhea and hallucinations, lasting about twelve hours."
"Who would make such a thing? It's nasty!" Sam on the other end of the line couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Medici, is someone trying to mess with you?"
"Why ask so many questions?"
"Is someone really bold enough to go after you? Tell me who, and I'll take care of them right now!"
"Wait until we find out," Abella said calmly, "I'm going to sleep now."
Meanwhile, the servants occasionally heard noises from Lola's room but didn't dare to check, keeping their distance.
Around nine the next morning, Lola opened her eyes and saw the ceiling in all sorts of colors, some parts even busted.
In disbelief, she sat up and saw the ceiling lights were all shattered, the room was a wreck, and she was sore all over.
'What happened? Did a thief break into my room? Was I attacked?' Thinking this, she looked down and saw her clothes were a mess.
The kicker was, there was a big bruise on her stomach. What happened?
Her mind was a blur. After a bit, she remembered that an ice queen had kicked her in the stomach last night.
She hurriedly got out of bed, but her body was weak, and she fell to the ground. After a while, she managed to get up, barely holding herself together, and walked to the door, struggling to knock.
The nearby servants, hearing the noise, were scared and huddled together, afraid Lola might go off again.
Seeing Lola calling for someone normally, they hesitated and finally sent a brave one to open the door for her.
"Ella," Lola said when she saw Ella opening the door. She was about to ask what happened, but Ella, as if seeing a demon, ran back to the group in fear.
Lola was confused. 'What's wrong with the servants? One acting like this is one thing, but seven or eight of them huddled together, looking at me like I'm a monster.'
Lola had to call out directly, "Emma, come here!"
Hearing her name, Emma was on the verge of tears, covering her still swollen face, and walked forward timidly. "Ms. Lola Medici."
"What happened to you?" Lola tried to move her hand to see her face, but Emma screamed, "Ms. Lola Medici, please spare me! I've already lost a tooth."
"What are you talking about?" Lola didn't get it. Seeing Emma crying, she grew impatient. "Go away, send someone else."
Finally, the group chose a maid named Erin to step forward timidly.
She didn't want to, but as the newest maid, she had to listen to the others.
