Chapter 590 No Injuries Detected
Ten minutes later, the snowmobile pulled up to the fancy restaurant at the ski resort. The staff quickly brought out all sorts of delicious food for Abella.
Other staff members rushed over with warm clothes, electric blankets, and hand warmers, worried Abella might be cold or hungry.
Kimberly hurried to Abella, "Are you okay? Who hurt you? James, did you find out?"
"Where are you hurt? I'll call a doctor right now," Beckett said, clearly anxious.
But Abella calmly replied, "They're the ones who got hurt. I'm fine."
"Really?" Kimberly checked her over, rolling up her sleeves and pant legs. She seemed fine.
Kimberly sighed in relief and hugged Abella tightly. "Thank goodness you're okay. When James got the call, we were so scared. James, have you found out who did this?"
James nodded, "It was Angela and Darlene. You don't know them. I'll handle it."
"Make sure they get what's coming to them!" Kimberly said, distressed. "This was supposed to be a great Christmas Eve, and now it's ruined. Come on, Abella, warm up and eat something."
Angela and Darlene, out of breath from running, reached the restaurant door just in time to hear this. They saw the elegant woman talking to Abella was Kimberly, the famous wife of the richest man in Liberty.
Kimberly was known for being deeply loved by her husband. Sure enough, Beckett was right beside her, offering Abella all sorts of food.
The Medici family's wealth was at least three times theirs!
Just then, two couples and a doctor with a medical kit rushed in, panting.
The restaurant door opened, letting in the cold wind and snow.
"Mr. Harris, sorry to keep you waiting!" Angela's father said, bowing deeply in apology.
Angela's mother glared at Angela and also bowed, looking elegant and noble.
Darlene's parents gave Darlene a hard slap on the back, blaming her for the trouble.
"Don't hit too hard, or they'll blame us for the injuries," James said coldly from his chair.
"We're truly sorry. It's our fault for not raising our daughters properly," Angela's father said, remorseful. "We've wasted your time and ruined your holiday."
Darlene's father started to speak, but James raised his hand to stop him. "Let's check for injuries first."
"Mr. Harris, it's just kids fooling around. Even if they got hurt, it's because of their poor skiing skills, not your fault," Darlene's father tried to calm James, but James raised his hand to stop him.
A bodyguard reminded, "Let's check for injuries."
The families reluctantly let the girls go to the restaurant bathroom for the doctor to examine them.
After a while, the doctor came out with his medical kit, bowing respectfully. "Sorry for the wait. I swear on my honor and career, they have no bruises or injuries, not even minor ones. They kept saying they were in pain, but my examination found nothing."
Darlene, now dressed, ran over anxiously. "She really hit us. My heart hurts, my stomach hurts, my back hurts, my whole body hurts. How could there be no injuries?"
Angela, also dressed, felt something was off. Given how hard Abella hit, they should have had bruises. It was impossible not to.
If the doctor was hired by James, she might suspect he was bribed. But today's doctor, Timothy Fisher, was known for his integrity. Their families had known him for years, and he always told the truth.
Angela once tried to bribe him with a million dollars for a sick leave note to skip school for a month, but he refused. How could such a person lie?
But if he was telling the truth, how could Abella's hard hits leave no bruises?
Angela ran to her parents, uneasy. "We are really hurt. If you don't believe it, we can go to the hospital for a check-up."
Her father, hearing this, gave her a hard slap. "Haven't you caused enough trouble? How long do you plan to keep this up?"
The slap was so loud it scared Darlene into a shiver. No one expected Angela's father to hit so hard.
"What exactly did you two do? First, you say Mr. Harris' people hit you, then you demand an injury check. What's going on?"
Darlene's father also sternly said, "Explain yourselves quickly!"
The two girls were too scared to speak. Angela covered her face, tears streaming down.
"Let me explain," James, sitting in the chair, finally spoke. "Today is Christmas Eve. I brought my niece to my ski resort to have fun. These two young ladies came over to provoke her, saying my niece was only here because I liked her, and accused her of sleeping with many people."
Hearing this, Angela and Darlene's parents were about to faint from fear and anger!
"Last time on the yacht, they bullied my niece. I warned them to know their place. Today, they thought it was a good occasion to start bullying her again."
In James' ski resort, they dared to say such things about his niece and even dared to lay hands on her?
Darlene and Angela's parents were about to pass out from anger. They each scolded their children.
"Are you out of your minds? How can you say such things? Last time you bullied her, Mr. Harris saw it, and you still haven't learned your lesson. She came to her uncle's ski resort to play, what does that have to do with you?"
